I would say the Hot Toys Count Dooku has the best CL likeness.
It was, but it wasn't a Dracula likeness. Asmus almost did well enough, far from perfect, but that was Saruman. Even Hasbro did some good Dooku sculpts in various scales. There was always a rumour that they used facial scanning technology because it was the new thing at the time. Don't know if it's true, but their sculpts turned out quite good for what was essentially kids' toys. Not the high-end 1:6 though, until Hot Toys got it. We still need a top tier Dracula portrait and I think Kaustic will likely give us two, because they like doing that with all their figures!

I trust they'll get the sculpt right. To date we've never had a really great Christopher Lee Dracula sculpt on any figure or statue.

I remember when Lord of the Rings came out and suddenly there was an exciting new chance to see Christopher Lee figures on the market. Then Attack of the Clones and soon after Sideshow's Man with the Golden Gun Scaramanga. What a time, but many of the sculpts were poor with only a passing resemblance. Oddly, Hasbro seemed to come the closest with their cheap Star Wars Dooku figures, but the high-end collectibles never cut it. A few years later, and up to where we are now, there have been various Lee Dracula figures and statues, but none feel right. Even Sideshow's recent Dracula Premium format doesn't do it for me. I think it's time for Infinite/Kaustic to settle this once and for all.
To be fair I was responding to your list of non-Dracula Christopher Lee sculpts (Hasbro Dooku and Sideshow Scaramanga) and your comment that the high-end collectibles never being able to nail his likeness (again, you brought up non-Dracula characters). I was just pointing out what I thought was a weird omission on your part.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the alternative sculpts for Dracula and Van Helsing. I imagine Dracula's will look stern and regal like the Bela Lugosi sculpt, but I wonder what the second expression for Van Helsing will be?

Well they just posted this on Facebook and I'm already sold!

I'm actually a little more excited for Van Helsing. He had more going on with his outfit tailoring, like that fur collar Victorian pimp coat.

I tried to make my own custom Van Helsing 20 years ago, made a sculpt and tested a few fabrics, but just gave up. Now I can sit back and let Kaustic do the work while draining my wallet.

Looks good so far. That Trick or Treat Studios one might be in trouble depending how closely the two get released together.
Based on the images released thus far from both camps, I think it's safe to say ToT is going to be ignored by all accept those unwilling or unable to drop the extra money on KP.

I am more of Van Helsing too

These are the 3d renderings for at least one of the heads of each. Do you think this is the head being shot in these pics, or would this qualify as the neutral? I assume these will have at least two head sculpts like Bela.

They look like the neutral sculpts. The one in the facebook pic appears to have a more open mouth with fangs showing.
