I’m about to cancel the Alien Warrior. I just preordered it only last December, only 3 months ago.

Economy shipping, $257.

Well, today, I just got a Ready to Ship notice. But get this, the shipping fee was increased by $216. Now all of a sudden, without notice, without telling me in any previous messages, they are about to ship with revised $473 shipping fee.

I’m so livid! And it’s not even the price increase, it’s the shady underhanded increase without notification.

Prime 1 is turning into a bunch of deceiving thieves.

I’m with burtial, I’m so tired and just about done.

I’ve paid for Ripley already. The shipping fee is only $28. Well, you can bet the bank that’s not going to be it. I expect them to increase it to $200. I will cancel if that happens.

They keep poking at customers like that, they will go under. I won’t be sad about it either.

I‘m in California, and I’m crying about my $216 price increase. But now seeing your post, not too bad on my side now.

That‘s totally absurd though. It’s highway robbery. You are getting royally screwed. California and Texas are almost next to each other.

I‘m still pissed though…mainly because I wasn’t given an advanced notice…

Well, that was NOT economy. I'm asking for a price on economy. But I assume I'm looking at just under $500 which is stupid for a 4-7 week trip.

I hate ALL of these companies currently.

I’m going to wait for a response from P1 later in the evening.

Again, the shipping price increase is not my main gripe (I’m not happy about it, but can live with it). It’s the underhanded shady way they did it. No notifications, no heads up, no email, no messages, etc. They were just going to ship it with the price increase without telling me, like it was not a big deal.

But I’m part of the problem, because now that I’ve cooled down a bit, I will probably still get it. I have set up a 3-tier 36 inch wide, 67 inch high, 24 inch depth-heavy duty rack. It’s my Alien 1/3 display section. On top, I have the CoolProps Giger maquette and the P1 Big Chap ( thank goodness for their smaller bases). Way on the bottom shelf, I have the Dog Alien. And the middle rack is empty and need a friggin 1/3 Warrior to complete my Alien Trinity. Damn it! I have no choice. And no, I don’t want that bloody XM Alien Hive one. But this Warrior and Ripley are my last P1 purchases.

Yeah, if you can switch it to economy, it’s going to be a tad under $500.

But you are a YouTuber. You probably want yours fast to showcase it on your channel.

They quoted me $498 for economy, which is still insane but I went with it. I don't care about when I get pieces. If you know my channel, I don't try and be some kinda personality or hype guy, so I don't mind the thirsty reviewers jumping at pieces and sitting back. I have a very 'meh' approach. lol

Yeah, you are laid back. Not like others who practically sound like car salesman. I’m not going to name names, but we all know who they are, lol.

Did you get the DX? I only ordered the regular. I’m not the switch out type. My Big Chap is regular edition too. Although my Dog is a DX. The regular also saves me $300.
 
I just got the standard. I'm like you, I never mess with swap-outs. Once I set it up, I leave it. Sometimes I will pull the trigger on a EX or DX, but it really depends what's being offered and how much more it is. In this particular case it was an easy pass.
 
Man, the times we live in now suck. I asked out of curiosity about how long shipping would take and they said 3 to 4 months after the 2 week wait for them to "inspect" it and ship it out.

So in 2023, you will spend $500 in shipping something that takes 14-18 weeks to get to you. Insanity. I don't see how this hobby can sustain itself for much longer.

The people who have the time/skill to make an entire collection are less than 1% of us, lazy or not has nothing to do with it. If anthing I would say many are actually less lazy as they have to work more to afford these higher prices!

Same thing happened to me, except not only did they not inform me of the price increase, they just automatically charged me. $523 to ship economy to Florida, instead of the original quote of $310.

I didn't even bother to question them or fight them on it though as it was already done when I was on my business trip and I just said "screw it". Once I use my P1 points on either Ripley or Paul Atreides, I'm done buying from them. I refuse to PO either of them though as I don't want another situation where they give me a shipping cost estimate and then blow it up when it's time to ship. I'll only buy something in stock with the shipping cost already calculated. No more surprises.
