You can see also at this one (starting at 38:40) the rear right wheel catches and doesn't come down easy- probably because of the clearance issue

Seems to me that most vehicles reviewed are having issues getting the wheel fully out and then fully down.
That tells me there is a definite flaw in the design. I guess that is what we get for asking for such a change so late into the process.

I suppose loosening the screws and a small amount of baby oil might not hurt- but best option appears to be to not rotate the tires at all- which is a shame because that was sort of the point, wasn't it?
I think all of us would rather they delay slightly than deal with this.

I wish JazzInc would have offered one of these - yes it would have been twice as much money, but it also would not be falling apart ten minutes after unboxing.

I don't know about that. My BvS batmobile has had plenty of issues from broken parts, misalignment and replacement parts not fitting.
Similar with the Bat signal.

You would think a company that could engineer something as complex as the Hulkbuster could figure out how to design a sturdy flip-down wheel mechanism. Worst case scenario, we could be looking at an “Iron Monger cracked hips” situation where the design is so fundamentally flawed that it is just going to happen sooner or later on all these BTTF2 Deloreans.

Just dropped it off to UPS to send back it Sideshow. Fingers crossed Sideshow actually ships a replacement one out quickly!

At least, now I know to loosen up both screws per wheel before folding the wheel down. Hoping for the best!

Maybe a bit of going over with a hair dryer to. Plastic can be fairly brittle at room temp. Maybe a quick blast of heat would help with these issues?

It might of been the late change in the design that has tripped them up, yeah I cant help feeling though HT must of known this mechanism was liable to fail!

Seeing how it operates was very helpful. I agree the sideways twisting of the wheel + pulling did that stress point no favors.

Lol. Now I’m seeing people on FB making posts to gaslight us saying that collectors are pulling the wheels out the wrong way and that we should stop blaming Hot Toys. Good grief.

That is helpful but its just a natural reaction when something is stiff, to give a bit of a jiggle. I can see loads of these getting busted and returned.

Got mine today from Sideshow and all is well. It's assembled and all the pieces are good to go...

Just a quick note...

There are THREE clicks when extending the tires away from the body of the car. I hear/feel three distinct notches before I can put the wheels into hover mode. They come out very far from the body which then allows the wheels to turn perfectly into hover mode with NO resistance. If you are feeling resistance then chances are that you didn't pull the wheels out far enough. It should be rather smooth. Make sure you are extending them ALL THE WAY prior to forcing them into hover mode.

Hard to believe HT didn't encounter this issue during their testing. Unless the factory is just tightening everything up far more than they were supposed to.
Yeah it is a bit of a head scratcher how they missed this. Do you remember the first HT Deadpool figure had those issues with the gloves rubbing and wearing away the fabric of the suit. I seem to remember HT changed the design for the following batches to avoid this issue.
So we might get some sort of revision from HT on this.
