It's really not as common as people talk about with pleather. Every single pleather figure out there doesn't crumble upon release when put on display. People talk about it as if it's a worldwide phenomenon that happens to every single pleather out there. You have to be living in some super humid or harsh weather conditions for it to really happen. Of course, there are exceptions to it with some figures and releases handling worse than others but it's not as crazy as people make it out to be. Been collecting 15+ years and haven't had a single pleather outfit fall apart and I live in NY where we get all 4 weather conditions throughout the year.

Regardless, real leather isn't really the answer unless if the company knows how to apply and use it correctly. Just look at PresentToys. A third party company using real leather on their figures and yet it doesn't look overly scaled and awkward. It's nice that DAM tried here but for a figure that's $300+, the end result should have looked WAY better. Especially when you have a company doing a better job with it on a $200 full leather outfit figure. Just look at how much nicer PresentToys does with their use of leather than DamToys. It's night and day difference.

Yeah for all the people who talk about pleather like it’s so awful I only know of one of my figures that’s slightly impacted. My MMS238 T-800’s jacket is starting to crumble a bit.

Not saying people don’t have issues but at times I wonder if it’s really widespread or if it just seems that way because the people who have issues talk about it in a somewhat dramatic fashion.

I think moving away from pleather is one of the best things happening right now in the hobby. I will never again buy a figure with heavy use of pleather just because I dont like to spend hundreds of dollars on a product that has even the possibility of materials just rotting away eventually. On the topic of present toys. On their Indy they actually did improve on the leather jacket in there 2nd batch. I have both from batch 1 and 2 and the jacket from the 2nd batch is notably better cut and the leather is quite a bit thinner too.

I’m not against moving away from pleather. I’m just saying I haven’t had a problem with it like many have. That and real leather on figures has been a bit hit and miss (in terms of how it actually looks).

Couple new in-hand reviews from BBICN, of the more "non-professional" variety, so probably a closer approximation of what it looks like than the blogger photos. It doesn't look "bad" just ... it could've been so much better. The first pair of pics shows that a good futz and pose makes a world of difference.

Are her boots really that colour in the game? I feel the urge to get a paintbrush and make em brown. The red stuff looks weird

The photo with her posed with Leon looks great in my opinion. Jacket looks more weathered and fitted. I really like it!

Yeah, I noticed the same. Like, if you had just shown me that, I'd think it looked really nice. Side by side with the promo photography is the downer, but on it's own, it looks good.

Some of the comments on BBICN make me think that there's some modification going on, they're talking about stretching or flattening out the jacket, the translation has the word 'steamroller' but I know that's not right. So I suspect that those top photos aren't necessarily what it looks like out of the box, but has been futzed with, if only because it looks noticeably better than the other photos that have come out thus far.

Thanks for sharing those pics. I think the figure looks good and will probably be the best 1/6 rendition of RE2 Remake Claire that we will ever get. So, I am happy to have her on the way from OSK.

However, with that said, I agree that this figured is over priced. I recently preordered the HT Arkham Batman XE suit for only a bit more than this figure. Which is simply insane. But, this is a fairly insane hobby in general :lol

This figure desperately needs a body and jacket swap to make it look decent. That jacket and body makes this figure look almost as cheap as the UB Toys Claire.
It does make the figure look cheap. Lol funny how they included seamless legs on the classic Claire but no seamless arms for it or the this Claire figure. Lol

The legs don’t look poseable, don’t think they could get away with that for the arms. It’s already getting a lot of hate for the jacket.. imagine if the arms couldn’t be bent to use the weapons too 😂

Seamless legs and arms can be very poseable if done right. There are cheap Xing bodies that have swappable arms and legs that can do a 90 degree angle.

May I ask how did you do it? Soak the whole jacket in warm water? It's great~~
I coat it with leather conditioner. Wait for it to dry, then placed the whole jacket in warm water and dry the jacket with hair dryer on low heat and then with fan to dry the inner cloth. Lastly another coat of leather conditioner to prevent the leather from cracking. I am planning to iron the front side of the jacket to make it flatter
