I tried to point out how nice it was that there were no major complaints for once and just minor nitpicks and of course there’s a war. Ugh.

The figure has been incredibly well received and I’m sure any minor improvements will be incredibly well received and hopefully this sells really well.

Let’s all just move on from there.

Just put an order in. I love these video game figures LIMToys have been putting out and hope for more in the future, be that more from Uncharted and Metal Gear, or a new/different property like Mass Effect.

Also tempted to use the undamaged head to put together this version of Nathan as I've seen 1/6 Playstations available before.

Except it’s not just merely better than previous versions, it’s WAY better than previous versions that id go as far and say its disrespectful to nitpick waist size and leg girth. See what I mean?

Nate isn’t a character like superman or Batman or any other tights wearing superhero where the physique is intrinsic to the character. He’s just a normal human with a fit body that if you took the games character models of both Nate, Joel and swapped heads, I’m confident no one could tell the difference.

Here, let me try something:

Am I being nitpicky or helpful doing this?

“The figures legs are too long. He looks too heroic. I want it to look like how I remember him in part 1. Please shorten his legs Limtoys”

Reminder, those that did “request” or “nitpick” things and are reading this, PLEASE don’t take my opinion as smack talk or calling anyone in particular out. I and others are just trying to bring some perspective to things.

Personally, I wasnt expecting to see any nitpicks or any form of negativity towards this figure because it genuinely looks AMAZING, so it’s kind of mind boggling to see them at all.
You’ve kinda missed what I was saying in response to your post, but fine we don’t have to fully understand each other.

No one is disagreeing that this figure looks incredible.

It looks incredible because Lim have been very picky in creating it, they could’ve just used an off the shelf body and it would still look very good and far better than other versions, but they know and many others could tell that it wouldn’t look accurate to the source. That’s why they made a new upper body and arms. If you’d have been happy with a custom head and new clothes on some random seamless body good for you, but Lim are aiming for more accuracy to a specific source than that. Most of the nitpicks will have already crossed their minds and there’ll be a reason for them appearing that way e.g. widening the legs could make the trousers restrict movement, and they may view the range of movement as more important, making full length sleeves will make them appear out of scale when rolled up.

If you can’t understand the nitpicks then I’m glad for you but Lim are trying to satisfy their own as much as ours.

Just my 2 cents guys:
LIM showed us an Arthur Morgan proto, then we got him in hand and they had overhauled everything for the better. If you think the prototype Nate is what we will be receiving, you’re wrong. LIM will make sure it’s right.
About the nitpicking, I don’t personally mind it, but I disagree with it all. I just think that the feedback and the nitpicking is what this forum is all about and why we have such incredible figures today.

I don’t disagree with you. But in the interest of not derailing anymore, let’s just agree to disagree and move on. I noticed some of the members that are making suggestions are people I like and I don’t want them to think I’m bashing them, WHICH IM NOT 😅😅. Love you guys!

It’s just I’m amazed at the effort put into this figure and don’t want the team at Limtoys to feel demoralized.

Just placed my order for 2 with onesixthoutfitters. It's only February and I've already preordered so many figures.. good problem to have I suppose :lol

Okay but if it was my choice I'd want him to look more like Part 1 Nate lol.

As someone who works in a design field, I can tell you (at least from my perspective) that it doesn't feel like an insult, but it's certainly not always helpful to constantly critique something to no end. Everyone likes to think their input is helpful and for the better, but it just doesn't always work out that way.

It more or less just feels like the the client will never be happy, much like many ppl on this forum actually :lol I'm not saying to accept mediocrity, but everyone has to accept that there are some limitations be it by the company and/or the factory as well as interpretation differences like what the correct color is of something or what the proper build of a character is, etc. It's going to pretty much vary person to person. Like those pics where some ppl saw a blue dress or some other color or whatever that social media trend thing was.

EDIT: Lastly, there comes a time where you just have to stop revising and just release the product, otherwise it may never come out. Guaranteed, there will ALWAYS be someone that will say "if you could just change this or that one thing, it will be PERFECT!" but, no matter how much you cater to them, there will always be something else that could be done. TDK Joker is a perfect example of this. It could be a scan of Ledger himself and there will still be someone who says "no, it's off. So and so did it better. If they could just do ____ then it will be the perfect likeness" :dunno

Guess I've just developed a thick skin for it. I'm a character artist for games, my work is constantly getting paintovers by leads telling me to accentuate a curve here or deemphasize an edge there. I actually like the process, you grow a bit blind to your own work.

As an illustrator who often works on games related artwork, I can relate. The difference in my thought process is that my client is guaranteed to pay me extremely well for the completed work, so I'm happy to do whatever they ask, as they also pay for any revisions beyond a certain number. Not so sure I'd be entirely happy to redesign a full figure body to add a miniscule amount of circumference to a particular section, with absolutely no guarantee that the person/group asking for the change is going to order or keep their order.

Great to see the vast majority are happy with Nate exactly as he is now.

I currently have playthroughs of the Uncharted games on in the background while I sketch and I'd forgotten how fun (in the lighthearted sense rather than gameplay sense) and comical these games are. Wish I had time to play them again, but the youtube playthroughs are enough to get me super hyped about this figure!

🤣🤣🤣 hey man I don’t blame you, stumpy Nate WAS our first love affair with the character after all!

And that sounds rough as a character artist. I’m already difficult on myself with my art and I can only imagine how demoralizing it must be to have another person chime in and say “this needs work, that needs to go away, this is trash, burn this, I like this but hate that.”

Like…bro. 🤬🤬🤬.

Props to you and others here in the design field.

I just placed order and wait for it. Im happy enough with the current look and any changes are just a little bonus or surprise (be it good or bad) at the end of the day.

If you put together than Nate, you will need a Home Elena to go along with! Hopefully Nate sells well so we can get more uncharted figures to go with!

I'm just glad people like the figure and the only criticism is some minor nitpicks. 😅
When the work is that good there is little to nothing we can critisize. Your team is amaizing!
Since you've made all the artifacts from the previous games... I wonder if you can make outfits from other games available for purchase? I would love to have unch. 2 as a separate costume.
If it is possible with gunslinger head I wonder if it is possible with Nathan's clothers
