Yeah, Asmus GtG was great, GtW is even better. In this case even if Inart’s is a bit better when it comes to the bust and hair, all in all it’s a comparable product at a lower price, so kudos to Asmus where it’s due. I just wish they were a little better at communication and distribution. The whole GtW launch was wierd as hell, after so much time with all the hype and no images… ”here you go it’s released!” . Or the head sculpt thing. Don’t get me wrong, they end up doing right and caring about consumers… but they’re so so weird It just makes me nervous

They were going to offer the GTG Crown head sculpt for sale. Once they seen all the accolades for the GTW sculpt they nixed that plan and are going to offer the GTW sculpt with the hairing of the GTG. That is the plan at least

My GtW head sculpt shipped out early this morning. It will be going on the original release and displayed alongside Theoden and Eomer (until a Rohirrim Pippin is released).

The new GtW will be riding Shadowfax just as soon as I find display space!

The GTW noggin arrived yesterday. Super-fast shipping with FedEx but the box was quite beat up. Fortunately, the sculpt and the box it was in were wrapped up well and didn't suffer damage.

I'll be replacing the sculpt to my original GtW over the weekend.

Hoping that SS will ship them out in March. Damn, I can't wait for this guy.

I’ve read some reviews that mention weak ankles. Anyone experience this with their figure?

peek I will post pics over the next few days.

FYI Shadowfax is incredible and the sculpt looks great ! Couldn’t be happier!

Got him via BBTS last week but didn’t get an opportunity to unbox until this evening. Definitely an improvement over Gandalf the Gray. Head sculpt looks great. Costume is excellent. Shadowfax is amazing but sadly I have no display space for him. Ankle joints are flimsy but that’s what crotchgrabber stands are for. I’m pretty happy. Loads of shelf presence.

I guess over the years I’ll be continually upgrading my fellowship collection. Once Queen Studios releases Aragorn next year I’m sure there’ll be a succession of new figures to follow that will replace old ones I currently have. Those SLIM hobbits can hang with Crown series but just barely. And QS looks like it’ll outdo Crown.

Dang, SS shipped yours already? Happy for you man, though I do gotta say that it doesn't help my impatience in the slightest.

Yes they did ! I had pre-ordered in November.

KG posted mine on the 9th Jan but it didn’t actually ship till the 27th!
It’s coming by boat so could be quite some time before it arrives.

I haven’t even figured out where he’s going to go yet. There’s no more room on my heroes of Helms Deep shelf so he may have to bridge between the Fellowship and Saruman.

Can you make a pic of it on the old body?

I just got GTW from Sideshow - well, a couple of days ago actually, but it's such a monster of a box it sat in the corner for a bit. They packed the box very tight and I think the insides of the exterior box are maybe a centimeter too wide for the exterior box- which was split a little bit on the side.


Gandalf looks great, his hair is perfect. Shadowfax looks great too.

Unfortunately, Gandalf doesn't stand well. I don't know what's going on inside his shoes, but he has floppy ankles.

I was going to put him on his stand- but when I inserted the saddle part- it split.

Same thing happened to me with the stand. I ended up using one of the other ones that fit in the base.

Got him today and he’s GREAT! The only thing that bugs me is the color of the overlay skirt it’s too tan/grey for my liking- anyway of lightening that up without ruining the material?

The new stand pole is pure trash. I think the one for my HD Aragorn and Ash (before I sold it) both split from the force of the crotch grabber. Does this one with gandalf actually fit securely in th estand port? So far, every one has been loose.
