Yes, filler but at least so far the titular characters have been in every episode. That's a switch.

These Trandoshans are fools. Trandoshans have been hunting Kashyyk for centuries, yet these seem to have no idea of strategy. Or of the dangers of being on the forest floor.

*blueskies* You know what show I'd watch? A show about the Trandoshan hunter's moon, Wasskah, and every week the Trandoshans could plomp down a new set of prey beings for some Trandoshan kid's coming-of-age hunt: One week a Jedi/Force user or two, this week some regular humans snatched off a pirated freighter, the next week a squad of Twi'lek dancing girls [smarter than they look, maybe], down the road we got a squad of ex-clone troopers, their armor may be ragged but their skills are intact. I'd be watching that all day.... never gonna happen.

"Too similar to Predator!" some might cry, but really that's what Trandoshans should be - the SW universe's answer to Predator. In fact, around way before yautja ever graced our screens.

They work really hard to make Trandoshans unlikeable which is a shame. Not all Trandoshans need be bad. But people love Wookiees so Trandos get cast in the villain against them constantly.

Which is why Feresk in Squadrons was such a breath of fresh air. It would be great to see more of them in stories. Although same goes for a lot of OT/PT aliens.

And you’re absolutely right about them being fools. :lol I think they were overconfident because they had some flamethrowers and CIS army surplus tanks. Served them right what happened to them.

But only a foolish leader gets themselves contracted out to the Empire in an no-win environment like Kashyyyk. Doesn’t seem like they were getting paid super well or being provided with top gear.

I was kinda hoping to see more of kashyyyk this episode. More of the effect of the empire, and I guess trandoshans, there. I'm guessing canon wise they're trying to save some of that for Jedi Survivor. I'm sure it will probably be a planet we return to in the game.

It is. I thought this episode did a bit of good world-building despite it being mostly "filler" (unless it becomes relevant later this season).

I liked that too. Made the action a bit more brutal. Nice to see them cut loose and put their skills to use on something other than droids and other Clones.

I think the show has been alright so far.

Episode 1/2 - Okay start, fairly basic but not bad.
Episode 3 - Incredible start to finish.
Episode 4 - Filler, but Tech is my favorite so didn't mind.
Episode 5 - Weakest episode, pretty meaningless.
Episode 6 - Good episode, nice to see Kashyyyk.

I do agree about there being too much filler. Season 1 had that problem. But I understand why they stretch out seasons. Still a shame though. The filler could at least be more interesting.

Based on the episode titles, I'm hoping there'll only be 3 or 4 more filler episodes.
With the exception of the 3rd episode, I've found them all to be very meh. So far season 2 is weaker than season 1.
As I've said before, I'm not too fussed about the animated stuff. I don't connect with it like I do the live action shows, so I think I'm going to leave the show here.
For those sticking around, hopefully the season will pick up.

Don't really care about it being filler tbh, this is just a Saturday (Wednesday) morning cartoon, I don't think people would be as harsh or demanding of it had it aired on Cartoon Network. I feel like it being on D+ makes people subconsciously have higher expectations for what it's supposed to be.

But tbh this place is the only place I see so much negativity or indifference toward it.

I'm a week behind (haven't caught this week's episode yet) but just watched the Wanda Sykes episode and holy crap I think she may be the new worst character in the history of Star Wars. Filoni is really losing it.
Filoni just announced that going forward they want to be known as Fidalgo Loanee

Seasons 1+2 of both The Clone Wars and Rebels are pretty terrible, but found their stride later on. Rebels definitely picked up at the end of the second season. I don't think it's fair to say Filoni is losing it, especially since The Mandalorian has been great.

I agree that it's absolutely nonsense that they shoved filler into the 4th episode of the season, and this theme of doing stuff for Sid is just boring at this point, but it does feel like they're eventually going to break from her and start doing more around the galaxy to fight the Empire, which would be interesting - and given the fact that Cody and other clones are bailing from the Empire - we might start to see that in season 3, which would check out for a Filoni show picking up the pace.

I know the standard is to complain when we don't get instant gratification over the last few years, but let's wait and see the full body of work this season before we say the guy has lost it.

Yeah I just think he’s spreading himself way too thin atm. He has Mando, Ahsoka, this, plus I’m not sure if Rangers and Skeleton Crew are still happening.

I've noticed both episode 7 and 8 are on D+. The description for ep7 suggests we might be getting something with more substance than the last few.
I haven't watched them yet. Not sure I can be bothered with this show. Animation just isn't my thing but for those that generally like this show but have been frustrated with the last few episodes, looks like it might pick up again now.
