Happy new year to all!
Good news: I just got some progress photos from the sculptor. The Heywood Floyd sculpt is looking quite good so far!
I gave instructions that the expression should be serious, and perhaps a bit concerned-looking. I think it's got those qualities.

This is a good time to ask all those involved in the project to send Stage 2 payments as soon as possible, through PayPal as before.
Please send $75.00 plus 5% to cover transfer fees ($78.75 total) to [email protected].
Include a note with your payment that tells me the following:
1) your full name
2) Facebook name, if applicable
3) your full shipping address
4) your member name here at Sideshow Collector's Forum

Thank you!

A big Thank You to you, Anthopoid, for your work on the Dr Floyd headsculpt . The separate headset plan is fantastic and I'm so looking forward to this.
On top of that your reveal of behind-the-scenes work on a Moonwatcher and Discovery Pod is a real shot in the arm for the fan/collectors.
We'll all look forward to updates as they become available.
Cheers!
Thanks Garret! And thanks for sending your Stage 2 payment. The sooner everyone chips in the better. I'm personally getting anxious because I want to start making the earphones & mic, and obviously I need a head to begin working on that.

I've received a couple Stage-2 payments for Dr. Floyd, but I need to urge those who have not yet paid to send payment quickly if possible.
The advantage of paying sooner is that it will allow a period of time for us to regenerate our funds for the final big Stage-3 payment
of $150 + shipping costs + 5% PayPal fees when the finished painted heads are ready to ship.

I'm expecting updated photos from the artist soon, at which time I will request any last minute detail adjustments be made to finalize the sculpt.
The only changes I'm anticipating might be wrinkles around the eyes, a mole by the nose, a scar on the cheek, and maybe general skin texture;
superficial things that can be fixed in an hour. At that point, the sculpt will basically be done and the mold-making/casting phase will begin.

Heywood Floyd Head Sculpt:
Hey guys, most of you have sent your payments for Stage-2, (thank you!) but I'm still waiting for a couple payments.
I haven't got any replies yet from those who have not paid. (I won't name names.) I didn't want to keep the artist waiting for his money,
and I want this to move as quickly as possible, so I paid the remaining balance out of my own pocket, above and beyond my portion.
The artist has now been fully paid off for the initial sculpting and mold-making costs.

When the artist is ready to take orders for fully painted heads, those who have paid Stage-1 and 2 will go to the front of the line.
Those who have not yet paid Stage-2 will need to send that payment before moving on to Stage-3.
I know some people might be financially stressed after the holidays, so I'm not trying to be harsh about this- just laying it on the table.

We're almost there... I got some progress photos today, and Dr. Floyd is looking very good to me.
I requested a few final tweaks; thicker eyebrows, horizontal lines across the forehead, and a slightly rough skin texture.
After those changes are made, I think we can call it DONE.

Prepare to be blown away... I know I am.
Here's the final Heywood Floyd sculpt. I think the sculptor did a beautiful job.
Today I learned that the sculptor and the painter are the same person, so I can't wait to see the final results.

I hope those who have not yet paid Stage-2 will do so as soon as possible. A couple buyers seem to be missing in action.
The time when the final Stage-3 payments will come due isn't far off; I was told it will be 4 to 6 weeks.
However, I was also told that the sooner Stage-3 gets paid, the faster the artist will be motivated to paint and ship them.
Thanks to everyone for working with me to get this done!

Good morning everyone!
It's time for me to start collecting your final Stage-3 payments for the fully painted 1/6th scale Heywood Floyd head sculpts.

I know we're all eagerly awaiting them. I know the artist has made the mold, and I'm expecting to see a photo of the first painted casting any day now. I was told that the faster the artist receives payments for each paint job, the higher the priority he will place on finishing them.

The artist doesn't want to be burdened with keeping track of everyone's address, or shipping separate heads to each buyer from his home in the Philippines, nor does he want to handle all of the separate payments, which is why I assumed those tasks from the beginning. My job now is to collect final payments from everyone, transfer the payments to him, receive the shipment of painted heads, then re-ship them to each buyer.
It's fair to assume that I'm not going to be able to collect all the payments at once, so there will likely be more than one batch of heads shipped to me over time. Those who make their final payments sooner will get their finished head sculpt sooner.

About the final Stage 3 payment:
The amount will be $150.00 plus 5% ($7.50) to cover PayPal transfer fees from you to me, plus another 5% ($7.50) to transfer the funds from me to the artist. I know that sucks, but there's no other way to do this; PayPal will impose 5% fees with each transfer, and the artist doesn't want to be responsible for accepting direct payments from all of the buyers separately.

$150.00 - Painted Heywood Floyd Head Sculpt
$7.50 - 5% PayPal transfer fee to me
$7.50 - 5% PayPal transfer fee to artist

Shipping costs will be due just prior to me shipping to you. The amount will depend on your location, but it won't be very much within the US for such a small box. Shipping will include insurance and delivery confirmation, ONLY within the US. If you're outside the US, the shipment will be insured against loss for the full amount you paid, but no tracking is possible to the destination country. Shipping outside the US will probably cost about $20.00.)
Also: I don't know yet what the artist may charge to ship a box to me from overseas. Whatever that cost may be, we will all need to split that cost as well, and I'll let you know as soon as the artist tells me what that cost is.

Totals: $165.00, (plus shipping to be paid later, from the artist to me, and from me to each of you.)
REMEMBER - When you send your payment through PayPal, include a note that tells me
1) Your full name
2) Your SSF name
3) Your name on Facebook, if you have one
4) Your shipping address
5) Your email address

I want to thank all of you again very much for working with me to make this happen!

I'm still hoping for some more Stage-3 payments to come in, (and even a Stage-2.)
The sooner we get more payments to the artist, the sooner he will paint and ship the heads.

Stage 3 payment sent.;)
Please confirm my payment.
Thank you very much and Best Regards

The first test painting is complete.

I really hope everyone is pleased with how this turned out; I certainly am. At a distance of about 15 inches or more from the eye, the up-close roughness of the paint will blend and look more natural.

I hope this inspires more people to send their final Stage-3 payments as soon as possible, and I thank those who did very much!

That sculpt painted up is looking very good!
Yes I'm very happy with the job the artist did, both sculpting and painting.
It's not 100% 'Hot Toys' quality, but maybe it's 90-95% of that.
I know it will look even better when it has earphones on inside the helmet.

The artist has informed me that the run will be limited to 20 heads only.
I guess he wants to maintain quality control, which is understandable;
He has other jobs to do, and he doesn't want to be painting these things forever.

So, let me know SOON if anyone wants to fill a slot and get this head sculpt.
