No, it was just an event to officially launch the project. No prototype reveal or something. It’s still in the sculpting and prototyping phase.
But I can guarantee that it’s already a success.
Joost was blown away and was pretty shocked.
He had almost 500 PO in one hour…
Something tells me that the 1/12 version is almost guaranteed…

And it won’t surprise me if a HT reissue pic pops up in the next days…
Oh, and here I was looking forward to finally seeing the thing.

I'm sure it'll be incredible because it's Jazz Inc, but it's a little weird opening up orders and having people commit to spending a whole lot of money sight-unseen.

That justice league car with the cannon looks tempting but, I can only splurge for one thing sadly. And if I'm gonna spend a couple months mortgage on a toy, i guess itll be this '89 Batmobile... I'll be very excited if my edition number is 666.

What I understood is that Joost wanted to be sure to have enough PO to launch the project, above all on an item already produced by another company.
He confessed that some of his projects weren’t successful as he thought.

The BVS Batwing is gonna be canceled in a few days.
Even if it’s too late to go back because too much production ressources have been involved, the 95 Batmobile won’t be something he will earn a lot of money with.

So he wanted to be sure before moving forward.
He wasn’t prepared for this triumph!

I knew without a doubt 89 Batmobile would be successful. I have the 95 on order but I do get projects like that are for a smaller crowd may not be for the masses as far as sales.

Agreed. The '89's iconic and with people citing how boxy and squat the HT one is, it makes sense they'd flock to a more accurate take from a company that's delivered well.

Congrats to Joost~

Someone talk me out of this. I have the HT version and paid the missed out premium, but having a bunch of Joosts products, I know this is going to be superior…but literally nobody else I talk to outside of these forums will notice the inaccuracies but me 😜

For me it's an easy pass because I already have the HT. Now don't get me wrong, there's actually no comparison-- the Jazzinc one is FAR superior and makes the HT one look like a cheap plastic toy but I also asked myself is $1500 really the new benchmark I'm willing to pay to own a figure?

Few months ago I sold my Tumbler after owning it for 10 years because I felt after so long it just becomes a space hogger, and almost did the same for the 89 Batmobile as the enthusiasm definitely wears out after so long and instead I did the unthinkable and bought several 1:18 Hot Wheels Batmobiles to put on my shelf instead and felt really satisfied when it comes to making used of the space-- I think I realized too late that 1/6 vehicles aren't really practical and you don't gain too much benefit by doing them in the larger scale that couldn't be reasonably done at smaller scales.

I honestly think those who missed out on the HT or feel like the HT doesn't cut it anymore and don't mind the price should get it, it's a limited run and Jazzinc has never disappoint but hey you asked to be talked out of it! :lol

I know for sure that if I owned the HT one, I wouldn't buy this. I think the prices are about the same in today's aftermarket for the HT one, so buying the Jazzinc version just seems more logical. To me the HT Batmobile looks excellent, and if you acquired it for retail back in the day, I'd say you're golden. If I could swing it financially, I'd own both.

If this was 1000, maybe id get it, but you're looking at possibly 1800 or a little more after shipping and vax are added, thats is really expensive.

Yeah, this would be $1760 for me assuming no increase in shipping between now and release, so @$1800-1850 is probably where it'll end up. Plus I'd feel obliged to find a Keaton Batman figure (or hope HT re-releases him) to go with it, bringing my investment to well over $2K. AND I'd have to box up either the BvS Justice Mobile or The Tumber, as I don't have room for all three vehicles. I STILL might end up getting it, but I won't order it until the very last day if I do. :lol

I assume in the UK we'd get hit with a huge customs charge, 20% Vat, bringing it to well above $2k.

Reluctantly I think I'll wait on the inferior Hot Toys reissue. Cheaper to start and never get hit with import fees from Hong Kong.

I would not be excited about the 666 number. When the Anti-Christ comes he is going to confiscate all things 666. :ROFLMAO:

As Jazzinc are going to make the 89 Batmobile, why not make the 92 Batman Returns Batmobile? :)
