Its not oil, its that **** they rubbed all over the figure. Mine came like that as well. Just wipe it away and you'll never see it again.

Still doesn't warrant a keep for me. The amount of things wrong with this figure (it being a reissue) and the cost makes this a return. It's hot garbage and deserves to be a huge stain on Hot Toys' books.

As far as rubber suited Hot Toys Batman go I own,

- MMS67 Original Costume Batman
- MMS140 Demon Batman
- DX09 Batman (1989)
- MMS293 Batman Returns
- QS 1/4 Batman Begins
- MMS593 Batman Forever

Not going to count the Forever one since it’s only a month old, but the other 5 are in great shape. The Original Costume and Demon are the oldest and are still the same as when I first bought them in 2008 and 2011 respectively (though the deterioration in the true type joints is probably another story).

My question is, why couldn’t Hot Toys just follow the same procedures as they did in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019 for this figure? How hard would that have been? I’m looking at my Returns Keaton and 1/4 Begins right now and it just doesn’t make sense why they didn’t just use the same manufacturing technique they used on those, for this one.

And seeing that new Bane is just pouring salt on the wound. It wouldn’t have killed them to sculpt a brand new cowled head or shrink down the 1/4 which is a great template. All the reference over the years, from photos to actual figures from other companies like Takara to Enterbay to NECA. I once recall seeing a photo of a NECA workshop at their studio in New Jersey, and of the hundreds of action figures strewn on their work tables was the 1/4 Enterbay Batman. Clearly they used that as a reference in making their $100 version (which is a great toy). I would hope other companies do this as well. InArt is making waves and you have companies like Mars Toys filling in holes with no brainer characters that Hot Toys just refuses to produce.

Hot Toys isn’t incapable of producing a Batman Begins cowl sculpt that is on the same level as OATY, Unreal, etc. they just choose not to. The DX19 head blows the MMS71, DX02, DX12 and Armory heads away. No reason they couldn’t have done the equivalence with Begins Batman. Just seeing the Affleck and Kilmer Bats proves they could do moveable eyes on a Begins cowl head too. It’s really unfortunate because sculpt a new head, have a belt that functions like the TDK armory belt (the swappable cartridges/pouches should be a standard on ever Bale Batman) and of course a decent cape and grapple gun and you would have had a special release. It’s kind of disrespectful to customers and the fan base.

Man, late to this **** show. Have mine still boxed for almost a month and just finding out about this mess a few days ago. It's a hard call what to do. Keep this and mod/customize or return it and gamble on InArt to tackle this. It almost seems inevitable. People think HT doesn't care and maybe they're right, but they must certainly hear the backlash. And InArt is definitely paying attention.

This thing looks pretty good once you rub all the ****** paint off. Added my V2 prototype cowl with posable eyes and my drape cape.

This does look killer bro! Did you do anything to the belt or can it sit that low naturally? What are the improvements you made for the V2?

Damn came out great. Nice to see the improvements and progress you made from the initial version. Happy to be a part of the first batch.

Sad that we have to resort to this for this figure but I don't see them ever caring for Begins. Digging that last photo the most! Good squint and has a big "SWEAR TO ME" vibe going on.
