Not to bump an old thread, but I recently upgraded to this Vader and I absolutely love it. In the right pose, the proportions are amazing and I don’t mind the inaccurate helmet in hand. If we get a good ROTJ vader for the 40th of that I may grab one but I’m happy with this being the vader in my collection

I've had it for a few years and it's still one of my favorite collection pieces. The diorama really helps add that extra touch to it.

I took mine apart last week and brushed 303 protectant on it and it looks amazing almost brand new

Sold mine recently to make way for the Battle damaged version. I never really liked how easy the dome could fall off. Im sure there will be mention of a ROTJ version right after my BD arrives.

Never really had a problem with the dome to be honest.

The gloves being pushed off by the suits sleeves though...:gah:
That was the most difficult time I've had just to hear that "click." I've wanted to change the hand for awhile but I need to build myself up for it.

Considering the fact that HT turns something which was accurate in previous releases into inaccurate, I feel this is deliberate and wonder what they will change in ROTJ version. I hope it's not Shaw's portrait.

That happened more times than I can count! Then one day it decided hit the floor just right, and nicked a nice little chunk of paint off the helmet. Ended up finding the only dang matching MMS572 helmet on ebay....which I payed over $100 for. lol
Eventually sold him because of the horror stories I've heard of his pleather. Just didn't want to deal with it in the future.
I really liked this one though. Very intimidating, badass looking figure when he's standing on the shelf.

Always wanted the base but never bought the figure. This was in stock yesterday on Sideshow so I ordered. Not sure why though.

Doesn’t ESB and ANH use the same type body?

Before I started the undressing process I thought the bodies were different since my ANH Vader looked so much better proportioned than my ESB. Well, once I undressed them both and saw both bodies side by side I thought I had wasted my time. Long story short I went ahead and made the swap and to my surprise he looked much better.

Does he look any better to you or is my mind playing tricks on me?

I tried putting the new Obi-Wan Vader helmet on the ESB Vader and immediately switched it back to the original. I prefer it, it turns out.
Wow, really? I had planned on picking up the OWK helmet for my ESB vader. I don't hate the esb sculpt but something is definitely off to me from some angles. The OWK looks great in photo's but i haven't seen it in person.

He looks better futzed. I think that’s because of the process of switching everything over. Sometimes I’ll remove everything off a figure, keep the same body because it’s just that everything needed some tweaking.

Agreed. Getting the belt and codpiece in just the right place seems to make a huge difference with this figure. That and some water treatment on the robes and cape made mine look LOADS better.

Still wasn’t satisfied though, so I ended up kitbashing a R1/ESB hybrid for my preferred Vader.

Body looks ok, I think you did a great job there with all the futz.

But that helmet needs to be replaced imo, something is off with the ROTJ one.
