No question, MS scale is better. I got each of the legends primes from each company. Could never get too excited about NA prime because he was tiny and felt lifeless. The MS one looks like it stepped out of an animation cell and is such a joy to pose. But he is certainly less sturdy.

That is too funny.
I think exactly the same, but the other way around. The materials, the way his face looks, everything. MS is that lifelessness to me.
NA to me is almost the epitome of legends.

MP-56 Trailbreaker arrived yesterday, one I've really been looking forward to. Another great addition to the Masterpiece G1 Season One cast! Great transformation, great articulation, great 'toon look. Had my reservations about the charcoal grey instead of black paint they used but after photographing him a little I can see why they did it.

Here's a few from today to start out.

Awesome pics, man.
I never was a big Trailbreaker fan and I think on this TT really did the "toon-accurate to a fault"-thing.
Looks so weird to me, but if you are happy that's what matters.

On the topic of pictures:
Transformed my NA bots as a "so far" EX line up shot. SO. GOOD.

Looks so good! I watched a review with the Takara compared to the FanToys and I gotta say, I prefer the Takara. I’m no purest on getting official items only, but I think I just tend to prefer Takara’s design over others even if they don’t clean up as well as other brands.

Yeah it's a good figure! Can't say I've ever seen a third party G1 'masterpiece' style rendition I've preferred to Takara-Tomy's official rendition, I think they always put the third party options to shame when they finally get around to doing a character. The third party stuff is so often way over-engineered and the transformations look miserable. The legend-scale stuff is another story though, loving the look and engineering on a lot of that stuff I've been seeing.

Love all the pictures here. You guys are inspiring my recent acquisitions. Here’s my meager collection.

There may be a few nitpicks in jet mode, but for me Skyfire is damn near perfect in bot mode. I think the proportions are fantastic for its cartoon aesthetic, and definitely "heroic" enough for me! Articulation is quite good too, and I much prefer the unbroken centre chest area like the Seekers. Build quality is also great, with no issues on plastic or paint. Awesome addition to the MP series!

I think it looks quite nice, but I may prefer the FansToys design, which though imperfect, doesn't have as much of the exaggerated cartoony look. Similar comparisons could be made with Trailbreaker vs. Outrider. Can't go wrong with either, though.

In other news, I only recently saw that a new company with a designer who worked on some other nice 3rd party TF figures is doing a Blitzwing. I'm very excited about it, and hopeful the quality is good on the production version (image taken from post by Arkham Soldier on tfw2005):

Ok. For the life of me I could not figure out why my RP-46 Sound Waves would not transform into alt mode properly. The front area where the tape buttons are would not sit flat enough against the legs to line up and be flush across the front.

After watching several transformation videos of the Robot Paradise Acoustic Wave, of which the RP-46 is a knock off, I realized that the legs were assembled in the factory backwards, or on the wrong sides of the pelvis. Making the legs not sit far enough forward to line everything up flush. Acoustic wave was assembled properly but the RP was not.

After undoing the screws in the pelvis I was able to swap the legs to their proper side and now my alt mode tape player is perfectly flush. If anyone else is having this particular problem with this figure I hope you found the solution or find this post.

Here’s a few shots or screen grabs from videos of the differences.

First two pics are of the RP-46 and the pelvis. You will notice the screws for the pelvis and the screws on the leg joints are on the same side. They are supposed to be reversed.

The second pic is from Emgo316’s video of the Acoustic Wave. It clearly shows the screws on the leg joints are supposed to be on the opposite side of the pelvis screws.

The last 3 pics are from my own piece after I turned everything around properly. You can see in the profile pic the front of the thighs sits closer to the front of the pelvis allowing the legs to give the extra room to sit flush against the chest and button panel when in alt mode.

Glad I figured this out cause it was bugging the hell out of me.

First two pics are the RP-46 in alt mode showing the lines don’t match up slightly. It’s most prevalent at the bottom edge where it’s supposed to be flat and straight but is pushed out because the legs don’t sit far enough forward. The third fourth and fifth pic are from the Acoustic wave and shows everything lined up properly.
