Hot Toys historically does some of their best work, on lame characters (this, Yondu, etc.)..

Yeah I wouldn’t say “lame” but there is an odd trend of supporting characters ending up with the best sculpts. Shuri’s the best of the Black Panther figures, Yondu’s the best of the Guardians, Stan Lee’s probably the best sculpt from the Ragnarok figures, Yelena looks like a better likeness than the Widow figures, etc

I get what you’re saying and I agree with the point. But while I suppose Shuri and Yelena could be considered supporting characters as secondary protagonists, Yondu is arguably a main character in GOTG Vol. 2.
He has a central role in the plot, a full character arc with growth and development, an amazing action sequence, a beautiful send-off, and about the same amount of screen time as Drax and Ego. He has more than Groot and Mantis in fact.
First time I’ve heard him described as lame honestly.

This is an amazing figure and must have for me but I’m gonna need some rewards or coupon to apply to get that price down so I’m waiting. Lol

Yeah it's a shame I hated the show so much (most of the time); on the other hand I can tell myself stuff like - always liked Falcon flipping his guns out, and to me Falcon is Falcon etc.

Maybe I'll go stare at the $500 dollar Kuiil + blurrg again, which I also want; and ask myself how poor I want to be. Those wings (the feathers have some articulation!!!) really pull at me $$$$.

I never let actual content sway me from collecting figures. If I only bought figures from “great” movie/tv show source material, I wouldn’t have much of a collection. Transformers, Aliens, Predators, Terminator, Star Wars, etc.
TF&TWS is my second biggest tv show disappointment behind TBoBF and I’m still buying the Boba and Cad Bane figures from it, so yeah it’swhatever. If the figure looks great, I’m buying
Hell, I’d buy a John Walker Cap too if they ever made him.

Sometimes tho I get what I call the "gray zone" figs. Characters that aren't my most fav, but I either feel are so iconic or the figure is so good, I need to represent. For me Doctor Strange V1 is one of those. Suppose picking up the Boba set was one of those, for me.
This fig looks so good - lol the neck cowl IMO looks better here than in real life
, it's one of those I'd have to have a talk with myself. (One thing the show did do right, even tho the script IMO was often leaden, was neatly handling how, narratively speaking, Falcon/Cap would end up with a state- of-the-art-uniform and wings. I mean they didn't do something lame like stuff in a story line like, well, Tony Stark had developed this prototype blah blah that comes out of nowhere.)
Always liked this image - there a comic cover around somewhere similar - so wow, if I got this fig I could do this pose. That's why I need to have a talk with myself
Because, sooner or later Andor figs will come out $$$$ and there's all the Mando stuff rolling off the line $$$$.
I haven't been able to order a whole bunch of figs at once since around Civil War, then the prices seemed like they started going up.
