You UK guys waiting forever for figures couldn’t just use a HK reseller? Faster and presumably cheaper.

This figure is an easy skip to me, I prefer the durasteel look, I don’t want to deal with the weathering which looks rough as hell in some pics and I don’t like the head sculpt expression. The Grogu gimmick is really starting to grate too, and think he’s still all plastic outside of the 1/4 version. I wonder if this figure displays better holding the 1/4 scale Grogu instead.

Ugh, thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I’ve always avoided them until now, after hearing some horror stories, but I’ve been excited for chrome Mando for so long that I went against my better judgement and decided to give them a try.
But no, haha, thankfully I only mean January 10th. If it was December 10th I definitely would have already been losing it on them and gotten a refund from my credit card company.
I still think it’s pretty ludicrous that a product marked as in stock would somehow need more than a full business week to get picked up or dropped off to DHL, though.
It’s a pretty shady business practice to send customers an email saying that their order has shipped when all that’s happened is that the shipping info has been entered into DHL’s portal.
It’s also another reason I can’t deal with Justin’s partnership with them.
Pretty unscrupulous to pimp a company directly to your audience when they have a spotty a record as TW.
Really, shame on me for ordering with them, TBH.

I agree, the continued business partnership and lack of transparency is unfortunate especially with his large audience.

Hope it gets sorted out. And it’s a one and done thing.

Have you checked out the thread discussing them here?

I have never cared for them for a variety of reasons, but the latest incident with a board member should really keep folks away.

I hadn’t caught up on the thread here in a little while, but seeing some of the stuff I just read makes me feel even worse for supporting them at all.
I guess I have to make a bad decision every now and then to remind myself I shouldn’t do it? 😭😅
But thanks for the support, I appreciate it. I too hope it gets worked out and then I’ll never have to deal with them again, outside of shouting from the mountaintop for people to avoid them.
Obviously other people have had it way worse than I have so far, but I’m a week into an order of a popular product with no discernible reason to have this long of a “shipping and handling” time.
That’s the thing giving me the most pause about it, why would it take even this long for something like the brand new deluxe mando to actually be shipped?

Happens to the best of us. Better to know now than way down the road.

As a reseller and not an authorized retailer, they would not get their products through traditional means.

ie. No shipments of pallets of figures and many shelves of inventory. Nor would they be buying these through typical business arrangements.

They probably still buy a bunch at a time when possible, but they could very well just need to send a runner to Secret Base to buy your figure. Or maybe they need to raise some funds to buy figures for outstanding orders. Who knows.

Legal Disclaimer: I am not claiming to know how they actually operate. These views are strictly opinions. They can’t report me to the United States Police Department for that, though I acknowledge I may be forfeiting any rights to future birthday points on their website.

That legal disclaimer 🤌🏻 👏🏻 well done.
Hopefully something gets figured out in the next day or two. I’m trying my best not to get frustrated, but their lack of responses isn’t helping me worry less.

I must be in the minority but I never had anything but luck with TW. I did notice though many times the DHL label would upload and not move for several business days. Makes me wonder if they were waiting to fill a pallet to get the “DHL discount” they mentioned in the InArt joker message. I must add I haven’t bought anything from them in a long time.

I ordered from TW once and the experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. I remember I ordered using a payment plan, once payed off they would ship out the order. After a couple months it had been payed off but my order hadn't moved for maybe around a week so i contacted them and turns out they expected ME to contact them to proceed with sending me the shipping invoice rather than just sending it once I had payed the total off, I found that completely bizarre.

This is usually the "famous last words" before something does actually happen. Not trying to put bad juju out there for you as I'm glad you haven't had a bad experience yet. It's just that normally we see on the boards some who typically says such things ends up coming back saying something along the lines of "well, I used to sing their praises, but now it finally happened to me." For me, I guess I'm glad it happened on my first order rather than several down the line where I would've had some built in trust and sense of security. I got to rip the band-aid on the first go :lol

My fellow Englishmen who choose to buy HTs domestically are true patriots. That's the only explanation for opting to pay $100+ over Sideshow prices on every figure.

I've used TW twice. The recent black Friday deals, which went fine and a previous instance where it took I think 10 weeks for them to ship an 'in-stock' figure and they gave me the fake tracking info when I innitially asked what's going on to buy theselves more time. I received both figures but the aggro is hardly worth the discount sometimes.

Captain Jack Sparrow,
I ordered the Arena Fett from them on Nov. 18, and a shipping label was created about a day later. Then it sat in limbo for well over a week, more like a week and a half, then I saw that the shipping company had actually received the figure for shipping, then it sat for another week, and finally started moving. I received the figure on Dec. 21. It was definitely slow, but in the end, I received my order with no problems. It arrived in great shape and I opened it immediately, half expecting to have been ripped off, but to my surprise everything was there, it was a new, sealed, unopened package containing everything in pristine shape.
So…I probably will not be ordering from them again, but in the end, I got what I payed for, albeit, very slowly!
Hope this helps cut down on the anxiety of your order.

Honestly, I want to support local UK businesses. I've know a couple of UK retailers that have either stopped stocking Hot Toys outright or have reduced what they do. I like to try to help them keep going. The prices in the UK have started to get ridiculous though.

Season 3 Mando poster just went up. Look at that sweet sweet weathered armor.

Although the trailer already made that clear, poster just reaffirms this is still the definitive Mando going forward.
Where S3 ends, might be another story and figure.
Yet I'm guessing most want to stick here, (if not already with v2).
At least he's going to need some significant change for me to consider another.

Interesting no emphasis on the Darksaber. (in hand or clipped to his belt (at least not visible)

Never figured this guy was looking to rule, he even tried giving it away. He might use it to lead and inspire others, but not to lord over anyone.

He gave the dark saber to Grogu.
Hey apparently the first to wield the Darksaber was half Jedi and half Mando, so it might just be Grogus destiny :lol He's already got the chain-mail Beskar onesie, now he just needs the saber.
Although Grogu might have to defeat him and all the others to get it. :google
:p

Boy does there ever need to be a 1:6 softgoods Grogu.

Agree!
I wonder if at the size a 1:6 Grogu comes in, it might conflict (legally on paper) with Hasbro's figure rights. Despite the obvious technical difference .
HT might be relegated to making only "pre-posed figurines" of anything approximating that size?

Ipso facto has anyone tried putting a HT Grogu head, on a Hasbro Yoda body? (turning & sewing the robe closed)

Though I hope i'm wrong , and once HT has mined and resold the same pre-posed molds for all their worth, HT does in fact have a fully pose-able Grogu with cloth onesie in the works.
Nobody tried that?

I don't understand the math here. You say that it took a month and a half for the shipper to even receive it and another week for it to start moving to you. But then say you received it on Dec 21st. Exactly a month after you say you received tracking on Nov 19th.

We’ll see. Remember when Season 1 had all these trailers and posters with the original armor? People were fighting for pre-orders for the toys and merch of that version and then he gets the Beskar armor literally three episode in and suddenly new merch and posters emerged. I had a good laugh. (Same for those that crowdfunded the Razor’s Crest Vintage Series ship, only to watch it blow the hell up like a week later).
