Not to mention the invoice they sent him for almost $800 saying he stole that amount in rewards over the year. How is that even plausible in a sane person's eyes? To make it worse they are now threatening to contact authorities in his area, which I see as a bluff and probably have no grounds on.
Yup which is crazy. I’m pretty sure they’re in another bind like when they were selling HT figure way below MSRP just to recuperate money that they owed to other places. So they’re going after random customers with these accusations and threats to get any money they can.
Thanks for the info. I wrongly assumed they were reputable because they were a name I'd heard of. Bit stupid on my part for not researching properly, but I was in a rush because I wasn't sure how quickly pre-orders for this Gandalf would disappear.

I've already paid off around £260-£270, but it seems like it might be a bit of an issue if I try to cancel and claim my money back. The £78 deposit will be gone at the very least. I will probably ride it out and hope I get lucky, but I won't be using them again.
It’s not your fault. On first looks, they seem like a legit place of business to get figures for pretty good prices, especially when you have one of the more popular YouTube reviewers constantly promoting them.

Hopefully you’ll be alright. But, I agree, in the future, it’ll be best to choose another place that’s a bit safer/more reliable.

How I wish Gandalf had gotten the same stellar tweaking. Don't get me wrong, it's a great figure and I have both him and Aragorn pre-ordered, but while the latter IS Viggo Mortensen now, I still can't see Ian McKellen in that portrait, just a very lifelike old man.

Yeah, it's a lifelike head sculpt, but something about the eyes - and eyebrows, is throwing the likeness off.

Someone posted what I guess is a custom Gandalf on the comments on their FB. Now THIS is Ian McKellen.

Quite frankly, the more I look at this, the more it reminds me of Robert De Niro instead.

I think smaller pupils would help, too. McKellen's are quite small.

Heck, even Prime 1, who are notoriously iffy at likenesses when not partnered with Blitzway and delivered a pretty mediocre Aragorn, managed to get closer to McKellen's tired look.

It's all a moot point, though, since in all probability it's too late now. That's too bad, as I think it's InArt's only miss so far in that respect.

Honestly same! Gandalf has on the same likeliness as Aragorn for me. On many pics I can see a better Gandalf likeliness on the Asmus Gandalf than Inart version (old wizard man)...

I can only really get one InArt figure and am more testing the waters with them. Question is with this being available again should I get it or Aragorn? Aragorn looks really good but Gandalf to me is a more iconic character. Kind of torn.

So true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks 100% like McKellen to me.
Yeah the Inart version isn't perfect but in no way would I place Asmus's GTG sculpt above this. That new Prime 1 statue is also weak in comparison. Asmus's version just looks too much like a generic Santa Clause man than anything. He doesn't look real or like an actual human being. It's bizarre and I own the damn figure. They did a much better job on their Gandalf the White sculpt recently.

I really do hope they fix the production piece the beard wasn't quite up to scratch.
They already confirmed that they heard the complaints about the beard and that it will be adjusted.

For what it's worth, I would never ever place the Asmus figure above this, either, I didn't even mention that one. But I do think the eyes and eyebrows on InArt's have room for improvement and that Prime 1's statue captures the essence of McKellen much better.

Very well said! 👍

And the beard length adjustment is like the cherry on top, perfection! 👌

Look I'll be real with you - if you're testing the waters here, you're probably going to get yourself in a bind in the long run. I think the best option is to PO both Gandalf and Aragorn while you can (OSK has both to Monday). The NRD is your fee for peace of mind that if future you decides you want to go all in on the LOTR line, you're not scrambling and fighting the aftermarket. At worst you're out of a deposit. A small price to pay to potentially avoid that conundrum.

The reviewers are also at fault for promoting resellers like ToysWonderland (TW) as well. I'm specifically calling out Justin because he's the one that people frequently associate TW with as a "reputable" reviewer. It doesn't help new collectors to the game if reviewers such as him refer people over to TW, because they don't really see the backlash without getting screwed firsthand.

I would like to but I dunno. That’s just a lot to commit to two figures. Also the NRD’s are pretty high so if I cancel one or both I’m out a decent amount.

Part of me is thinking to get Aragorn because he’s impressive and in my opinion the Asmus Gandalf figures have looked pretty good (especially GTW, but I’d prefer GTG).
