I'm most likely going to offload this guy as soon as I get him. He's too similar to ROTJ Luke.

Honestly, if HT don't make Ford figures just because of the incident, I think they are not professional enough. They deny profit for the sake of anger. Not producing a Ford figure do not harm Ford, but lets HT gaining less money.

Nothing wrong with having principles, if they are indeed angry about the whole Fallon interview. In Bespin Han's case though, F their principles!

This is amazing! What am I looking at? 🤣 A custom? Some sort of deepfake composite?

It’s this photo of the prototype that was taken at a con shortly after Mando Luke was announced with some photoshop work courtesy of yours truly to try to ditch that deepfake hair piece 🙄

The sculpt is extremely strong. Easily the best Luke we’ve ever gotten from HT if it survives production, but that hair is way too close a match to that half-assed wig from the S2 finale.

I do hope they fix the hair before the figure releases. I did order one of these, but was planning on putting the ROTJ Luke head on it - I hate the barrel chest on that figure. If they fix the hair, I do think this can be the definitive Luke, so far at least.

Thanks that’s what I thought! Yeah the hair really sells it.

The longer this figure gets delayed the less I’m sure I even need him in my Mandalorian collection. I think the final release would have to blow me away at this point.

Pretty much how I'm feeling about it at this point.

Problem is, as bad that hairpiece is, it’s pretty damn accurate to what we saw in the finale. So I really don’t think it’s likely that they will make any moves to make it less accurate but more pleasing, but I guess miracles do happen now and then.

What was the incident I missed it

Thanks

I think there's another reason than just that tbh, seems unlikely.

But you could see Howard/the team being offended by it, these are for all intents and purposes "art".

I didn’t and still don’t see how anyone with any sense of humor (or inflated ego about what is essentially a toy) would be offended by that. It wasn’t even an attack against Hot Toys. JJ Abrams is the only person who should probably have been offended.

Agree. It’s a late night comedy show in the US. It’s kind of expected that you do things like this on these shows. They are just having fun. Nothing wrong with that.

No it's not
I doubt anyone (who isn't an over sensitive fan without a sense of hummer) took it personal, it was obviously a gag.
If anything anyone at HT were likely excited to see the figure show UP on Late Night, even to be cantankerously destroyed by Ford.

Ford has been playing the grouchy I want out of Star Wars guy for decades, Carrie Fisher used to joke about being haunted by the character and merchandise too, she made a whole beloved routine about it. The whole shtick about actors surviving beyond a beloved character and their own merchandise and likeness, that seems to become greater than anything they'll ever do or say, overshadowing and intruding on everything they do. They both play that part to a hysterical degree.
Yet in any serious context they always praised Lucas' characters and vision.
This is comedy. :lol

People keep spreading this onto every thread, and discussing it like it's some confirmed fact? Posted this a while back...
Other than fan melt down and speculation over the Late Night figure wrecking comedy, as the reason for lack of Bespin Han.

Is there some actual quote, interview soundbite, citation from Howard, confirming this?
Link thanks.
Still nothing.
Are you sure this isn't just self obsessed, no-sense-of-humor fans, speculating, projecting and spreading their own over-sensitive delusional crap, onto Howard and the HT crew.
Does anyone on this forum who keeps spreading this, ever have an actual quote, interview soundbite, link, reference from Howard, confirming they were in the slightest bothered by this?
A link, anything? thanks!

Can you imagine working for Disney or Lucasfilm licensing and one of the companies that you lease a license to won’t release potentially highly lucrative figure because they were offended by a late night show?

If you can imagine that, and still think it’s reality, kudos to you! You have a greater imagination than I do.

I have no idea why hot toys is so slow to release another Han Solo figure, but I have a hard time believing that the Jimmy Fallon appearance is the reason why.
