Is this now like the alt u timeline where instead of Anakin, Padme (or one of her supposed doubles) falls to the Dark side ?
Palpatine: Arise, henceforth you shall be known as Darth S'Wan

I wonder if a part of it is the iconicity of that performance being an oscar winning one, in a similar way to the way a Phoenix Joker gets talked about. But even that feels like a weird comparison considering Joker's comic book origins. I am surprised by it myself though, when Zurdo brought up a Black Swan piece I was kind of like 'yeah that'd be a very cool custom'. I know Black Swan has a reasonable fanbase on social media but I wouldn't expect that to cross over with this community. Very interesting to see it already having been put together by someone.

Also those new pictures from Rebel Base are stunning. I'm extremely impressed. Like others, I do wonder what they will do about that pretty obvious seamline, because it would take away from what is a genuinely great sculpt from Hot Toys. It's not perfect, but I think the sculpt itself looks better in most of these natural pictures vs some of the promotional pictures. Every time I see new pictures I kind of have to pinch myself. It's still so wonderful to see.

well. the 3d file is cheap, cost of resin wouldn't be too bad. Good paint job might indeed be pricey if you can't paint it or get a buddy to. At least you wouldn't need to source a ballerina outfit so might still be cheaperView attachment 616103View attachment 616104
Oh it’s a whole statue! I thought it was just a head.
Looks great but the coloured version is a little misleading by not showing the seams in the limbs from having to glue the pieces together.
The standing leg could have at least had the cut-off point be where it reaches the skirt so it’s concealed from the front view.

That'd be an interesting take!

Funny you brought up JP's Joker, some say it has similarities to Black Swan. (I haven't personally seen Joker yet, but I'll be curious to see how they compare when I do.)

Totally! I wouldn't think there would be appeal to having Black Swan represented in action figure form, but I'm glad there looks to be some options for it.

Agreed!!! Those photos of the figure look stunning! It looks almost unreal to me in that it just looks so good! Hmm, I do see why the seam line could be bothersome, but for myself I can't be too much.

IKR?? :D

Well, in 3d printing you will be sanding off any nubs left by supports anyway so one would approach it like any other model kit: sand parts, assemble, sand and fill any seams then paint for seamless result.

Too much work for a lazy dude like me of course, I would likely leave the seams but I am particularly lazy. Heck, I prob wouldn't get as far as painting!!

I hear that.
I bought a Cara Dune kit around two years ago and I can’t be bothered to do any of that stuff.
It just sits on a shelf in pieces as a monument to my laziness.

I have a 3D printed Black Widow and Summer Glau Terminator both in that same condition. unpainted, unassembled just waiting for me to stop being lazy

I can't help but wonder if it would look better if the hair was a separate piece like Luke or something. Or better yet (maybe not), make it so you access the eyes through the neck so you can fumble around trying to get the tool into the eye 😂 but seriously, even that seam can't bring down my joy of finally getting Padme. I assume it'll be better in the final product anyway

Looking at Jason Palmer's artwork of Padme and the many outfits she wears in the course of three films, there are so many ways Hot Toys can go about future versions:

Yeah she'd had so may cool looks in the PT, it'd be great if they release more figs of her in the future.

[...] I most certainly hope that they put that Portman sculpt to use, as you said. A release around ROTS's anniversary is likely I suppose [...]

I like the black dress to the right.... The "I will Seduce Anakin" scene dress.... It's a little dominatrixy. :monkey3

:lol

Episode I queen gown, palace assault, and maybe Tatooine disguise seem like they’d have the best chance.

I could also see them doing this TCW outfit. Maybe as a convention or toy fair exclusive.

Agree, I think those would be the most likely to get figures. Though I'd be surprised if they don't end up making them, since I'd figure they would want to make the most use of the sculpt.

Yeah I love that artwork (accompanies the Thrawn Alliances book). Here's the concept art for the outfit in Clone Wars:

Only thing that might prove difficult is if they try to replicate the hairstyle (same one as the Padme pilot one). I don't see that being easy.
