If I remember correctly, InArt mentioned that Joker was the only case for the double pack and weren’t planning on making that a standard. That’s why releases from The Batman were all separate and you weren’t forced to also buy a Bruce Wayne and/or Batsignal if you didn’t want to.

Sure but why not simply offer both as single packs then? I think not everyone wants multiples of same character as long as we can buy every version with rooted hair i'm good.
As stated above, they do now. InArt seem to have learned the lesson very quickly that 1/6 collectors aren’t as blasé as the statue community when it comes dropping 1k+ on a single package.

They can still make two packs but will make every variation of a package available to collectors so nothing essential is locked behind a certain price-point.m; maybe just an extra accessory.
Buying the combined set saves you money though. I think the rooted All In The Batman set came out at least 100usd cheaper than if you bought everything individually.

"INART THE LORD OF THE RINGS-ARAGORN 1/6 COLLECTIBLE FIGURES WILL MEET IN JANUARY"

Does that mean preorder will be in January? Or just that they released that footage on january 1st?

InArt's Gandalf also had a rooted beard. Hopefully their Aragorn is at least a little less expensive.

To be honest, I don't expect the outfit and gear to be a significant jump in detail from the Asmus releases. I wish that InArt would sell just the head sculpts loose. I would buy multiples to upgrade my current figures.

I will say that these prices are the death knell of my 1/6 scale hobby.

It'd be ruthless towards Asmus, but if they did sculpt packs they could probably get a few extra customers out of people who would never have bought the full figure, given that they have an older release.

Massive improvement from the early prototype, the accuracy is incredible, all in on this.

These are obviously expensive but I have a fixed list of 5-6 more figures where I'm prepared to pay the price for InArt or Asmus Crown if they can nail the rooted sculpt.

Hoping InArt can find a way to slightly improve their GtG.

Now when have I heard this before from you?

:D

In fact, aren't you like the oldest member still here? We checked your start code and you're like number 4 or 7, right?

Ok, ok... You got me there but to be honest, I've been cutting back drastically on impulse purchases and trying to focus the collection more narrowly. It took some will power keeping away from the order button during Sideshow's BOGO sale, last month...

Aragorn is a must-have but unless InArt were to release another (for me) grail figure, such as a "The Thing" MacReady or "Road Warrior" Mel Max or "Raiders" Indy, I'll be staying away from these high priced figures. I still can't believe that I held out from pre-ordering their rooted hair Joker. TDK is one of my main figure lines, too. I just couldn't justify the grand when I really just wanted the amazing head sculpt. (which I'm hoping to obtain...)

I honestly have no clue as to the start code but I'm now very curious... :lol

Oh, you're 89. Hover your cursor over your avatar, look at the bottom of your screen (https) and the last few numbers are your "Freaks number" -- what number of members before you joined.

I'm 775.

I will buy all those you mentioned... and Joker... and Gandalf and Aragorn and Legolas. I will not be stopped.

Keep in mind there is a very passion Tolkien fan base out there. I'd guess there are plenty willing to pay the premium cost for this figure. Especially when there are those paying that price for statues that don't come even close to this level of realism.

As Wor said, the target price will probably be around the $500 mark. And I do think they plan to keep the numbers low. It takes a lot of time to do these haired sculpts.
I’ve got no problem with a higher price. Just don’t all you guys saying I’m willing to pay $500+ for this.

InArt sees that and that’s what you’ll pay.

Personally going by their previous prices should be between 400-500 for a single figure imo.

In any case we’ll hopefully soon see.

Neat. I never knew that. Now I am wondering about my number. I only go on the boards from my phone though so I have no idea how to check it from there. I joined waaaay back in 2007 but lurked before then.

That is so cool! "89" it is!

The hobby is leaving me behind, though. The interest is certainly there but when a price point starts hitting these numbers for a single figure, it gets to the point that I would rather put the money elsewhere. My other hobbies start calling, "over here!" :wave

You are a brave (and wealthy) soul. I may have to start living vicariously through you!

A smaller collection is better actually. Easier to maintain, easier to absorb and appreciate, easier on the jokes from your friends and family.

In the end, buying 2-4 InArt figures a year is the same as buying 4-8 HT a year... and we all know you and many others buy more than 4-8 HT figures a year. So InArt is actually saving you money!!! It's a Christmas miracle!

Speaking of Christmas, would it be unreasonable to venture a guess that this might be available within the year? Or is InArt as a company still too new without a proven track record? Eager to see what could very well be the definitive iteration of Aragorn.

I've thought about the whole "Quality over Quantity" many, many times, over the years and have followed that plan "mostly".

What makes things difficult is when you have several different lines being collected and/or a huge one like Star Wars. I've managed to skip quite a number of figures that other Star Wars fans would call me crazy for doing so... (Snowspeeder Luke and the ROTJ Scout Trooper set, just to name two!).

Now throw into the mix those occasional unexpected or one-off figures ("Mad Max" Wez and DX15 Jack Sparrow, for example) and it gets even more difficult to pass on. I'm a sucker for figures from 1980's films, too.

Finally, the constant nemesis of our hobby, the eventual upgrading of figures, has been chipping away at my enjoyment, as well. It is fine when it is just for a few special or project figures, such as the "Raiders" Indy but when it is a regularly released figure as a 2.0, 3.0, etc., it gets frustrating very fast.

While some would be fine with, for example, just a Gandalf the Gray and perhaps Frodo from InArt, I would be going crazy if I couldn't complete at least the Fellowship Nine. That's the slippery slope. "9" InArt Figures (if they were to do the nine) would be super-expensive.

I get back to saying that I know that I'm sliding into home plate, as far as my 1/6 scale collecting days go. Another eventual purge is in the horizon but it is always a difficult decision, as I'm a picky purchaser to begin with.

Well, I don't want to derail this thread any further. I'm definitely in for the new InArt Aragorn figure!

I don't think we'll see Aragorn in our hands this year with Pennywise, Gandalf and The Batman ahead of him. Plus, we're still waiting on the mass release of TDK Joker. Currently, he's only been released to those who paid in full upfront through InArt's website.

I hear you! The price point is making it harder to collect and I am definitely very selective now. Outside of Asmus and InArt Middle Earth figures and some of EXO’s Trek figures I am almost out of 1/6 except for a select figure here or there. However any Indy figure will definitely be bought and original Star Wars trilogy figures will be tempting.
