I can't imagine HT would make Jabba... but I'd love to see it.

ROTJ anni smells like Shaw Vader only. Everything else has been done, and no Ford, and I doubt they'll go back to Calrissian or Ewoks.
If Hot toys can make the Blurrg, surely they are up to making Jabba.
Add Bib,Leia Boushh,Skiff Lando...and boom,there is scene potential there.
Han being the biggest omission still, but Luke and Chewie have been catered for.

It's painful they don't see the potential like we all do.

I don't own a Jabba now as I sold my single version off when Hot toys announced the license,so I'd be keen on him.

Strangely, of all the possible Lucas Star Wars Anniversaries they could have done, HT of course picks the grandly accepted worst Star Wars Prequel to go nuts on.
Kind of amazing the PT is getting the attention and the OT is relegated to the side. It’s going be to the same for The Clone Wars. They have the clones ready to go. TCW Kenobi was already shown. As well as Kit Fisto that they can just say is TCW. They could repurpose AOTC Padme into Snow Bunny Padme and Padawn Anakin into a 2D Clone Wars version. I bet we see another dozen plus figures for TCW and scraps for ROTJ.

Not necessarily complaining because I love it all, but if you told me I had the choice of:

AOTC Anakin, Padme, C-3PO

vs

ROTJ Han, Slave Leia, C-3PO

I think more pick ROTJ.

I have no false hopes for Jabba. It's much too large a project for HT to take on with few buyers. The shipping cost alone would kill the idea (for those who have seen the InArt Joker shipping).

20-40 people here who might buy it -- half of those who claim to need it will find something wrong with it and cancel -- and that isn't enough to bother with when all Howard has to do is make a few clone variants and another Clone-bi-Wan and he'd make twice as much at half the price.

How much better is a Hot Toy Jabba realistically going to be than the SSC version? SSC version is $800+ and still available. Hot Toys could be $1000. They might not see the market for it with the SSC one out. And the SSC one is a nice piece too, unlike the SSC Grievous that Hot Toys also refuses to do.

HT Jabba would be a large hollow plastic toy like Hulk and they'd charge $879.
Honestly I was about to say that Jabba does not need to be some heavy polystone statue or Phicen style over engineered rubber beast, it could simply be a "Power Pose" semi articulated hollow vinyl figure. Large, lightweight and articulated in a few key points where joints can be well hidden in the sculpt. But yeah, knowing HT they would still charge 800+ bucks for it haha

I could see a HT Jabba and throne being the same price as Sideshow’s or maybe even a little cheaper because they won’t use heavy and expensive polystone for the throne. Give his waist a ball joint in one of his fat folds and he can rotate and work as a New Hope or Phantom Menace walking Jabba. Pop him in half at that joint you can access the moveable eyes. Have a removable tongue ala Peacemaker and you have enough differences to the Sideshow ones to get some people interested. I passed on the V2 Jabba but would likely upgrade from the V1 for a HT one.

No interest in an Uncle Fester Vader or any other Vaders for that matter, Kenobi version will be my definitive Vader.

Honestly apart from a Palpatine reissue, a Bespin Han, Boushh Leia and the upcoming Bespin Luke there aren’t really any further OT figures that I’d buy.

I think low expectations are best. This will be similar to the empire anniversary. Reissues and a few new/redone figures. I’m still not sure how aotc got 75 figures released. Hot toys doesn’t make many aliens and that’s what would be best for rotj.

For me, no ford=a letdown. How did we have an empire anniversary without the best part of the movie? How can we not have new Han Solo figures at this point. Axe woves for f%#{%^ sake. Rotj will be the same bs.
No Indy license announcement yesterday could mean bad news. They could still get the license, but…

To play along, since aotc got 9 new releases, here are my rotj 9 releases.
1. Vader with Shaw sculpt
2. Han endor
3. Chewbacca Jabbas palace
4. Max rebo band 3 pack
5. Leia boushh
6. General lando
7. Nien
8. Akbar
9. Logray or any Ewok
10. Piett

All pipe dreams except Vader and boushh.
We have 5 months to dream, cry, and argue about it …

Deluxe Boba Fett with Carbonite Han Solo diorama would be great. I know that's more of an ESB scene, but still.

This one seems like a an obvious add-on for a Fett re-release, but don't you also go up against the Harrison Ford likeness issue? Don't see why you could do a carbonite Han with Mr Ford's face clearly on show (albeit painted silver,) but not be able to do a Han figure.
The funny thing is that sideshow has a statue coming out that’s literally this. Tons of companies are still using Harrison’s likeness like Gentle Giant, Sideshow, Hasbro, Bandai Spirits, and etc. Which is why I don’t believe in the whole likeness issue rumor.
Hell, Hot Toys didnt even acquire the Indiana Jones license considering that its a lucasfilm movie coming out this very year. I don’t know what’s going on, but this situation regarding Harrison is ridiculous. They are literally sitting on money ignoring him

I was hanging for a ROTJ Vader but that ship has sailed. I’ll be getting the Obi-wan Vader.

I’d upgrade to a Boba 2.0 if they make the body look as good as Jango.

Still hanging for an OT C-3PO.

It’s been a while so hopefully they can give us better attempts at Yoda, Han, and Chewie.

HT Jabba would be a large hollow plastic toy like Hulk and they'd charge $879.
Having bought a Thanos because my comic fan self absolutely needed him, I'll never get another big figure. No Darkseid if he's ever made, certainly. It's literally a plastic toy and every time I get ahold of him, I wonder if I'd had been better off getting a statue. But, I needed him to stand next to my Adam Warlock and the such, with the Infinity Gauntlet like in the comic, so I bit the bullet. But yeah, he turned me off any oversized figure, I'll tell you that. The premium feeling and realism is absolutely gone in regards to them. He literally has the same foot pivot as my JoyToy 40K Captain Smurf. I got him for 150€ base price, with taxes and shipping raising it to ~400€, and I absolutely don't think he was worth the money. But, like I said, you can't have a Cosmic Marvel shelf and all those Omnis, and not have a Thanos. Now I wonder how Grimm/Thing will turn out...

Anyway, if the ROTJ anniversary gives me just a re-release of the Emperor with some extras, I'll be happy. Thrawn coming in the same year due to the Ahsoka show means that my Empire display will start getting put together. Although, I'll have to wait another decade to start displaying since I don't like unfinished set-ups, so... Whatever, just give me my Geriatric Space Wizard 300€ dolly.

The way Hot Toys has treated "Attack of the Clones" is unique in the entire history of Hot Toys and Star Wars. It has almost single-handedly taken over Hot Toys Star Wars and certainly seems to be paving the way for a massive "Phantom Menace" 25th next year and "Revenge of the Sith" 20th the following year.

It certainly goes far, far beyond anything Hot Toys has ever done for an anniversary (they really never seemed to care about anniversaries at all until somewhat recently,) so the anniversary aspect was likely was more coincidental to a major new prequel trilogy 1/6 Star Wars focus going forward that you mention.

This further reinforces the idea that "Return of the Jedi" anniversary will be more muted like the "Empire Strikes Back" anniversary, with special 40th boxes:

- a re-release of the ROTJ-style stormtrooper
- a re-release of the Emperor as 2-pack DX possibly with Royal Guard
- a possible re-release of ROTJ Boba Fett
- a single new "hero" figure - likely Leia in Boussh outfit, as Hot Toys has shown a deep interest in Leia even in marginal outfits like Bespin or Endor
- a ROTJ-styled Vader re-release (sadly, a Sebastian Shaw head seems unlikely though)

The absolute obvious figure for a 40th is Han Solo in Endor trenchcoat, but there does seem to be some issue with Mr. Ford's likeness, and a re-release of a Luke Jedi figure seems unlikely because of the upcoming "Mandalorian"-linked version of the same look/outfit.

And the "perfect" 40th anniversary release would have been a Hot Toys "Return" style Scout Trooper with "Return" speeder bike - which strangely they released the year before the 40th instead of waiting. Which again reinforces that the 40th of "Return" is not something Hot Toys is really stepping up for.
The ROTS anniversary has been on my mind (hoping for Anakin & Obi-Wan re-issues, a Palpatine 2-pack with Chancellor and Emperor looks, Crispy Hayden Vader, maybe a new Yoda, a Dooku re-release, a new Padme, possibly Grievous; there's lots of possibilities), but I'd forgotten all about TPM. Queen Amidala, Young Ani, Padawan Obi-Wan, Jar-Jar, Senate Guards maybe? ROTS is the movie I'm banking on to get most of my PT wants though. As it stands I have big gaps in Anakin & Obi-Wan, Dooku, and then Maul and Qui-Gon (and then Yoda, and Han because I waited for the Bespin look and...). I'm waiting until 2025 to see if anything gets re-releases, but after that I'll have to bite the bullet and drop the cash on eBay...

But we do have to remember that 2024 and 2025 will also have MCU releases like Fantastic Four, Deadpool & Wolverine, Avengers The (Dreamworks Clown) Kang Dynasty, Captain America 4, Thunderbolts, and another Iron Man movie in Armour Wars. It'll be a packed 2 years, so who knows how deep they'll go with reissues.
