In no particular order, I’d say my top 5 from 2022 are:
Croc Master
Tiger Force Outback
Sgt Slaughter
Sgt Stalker
Spirit

Mindbender would have been a contender as well but the cape staining really hurt him. Serpentor is more impressive because of the air chariot as a whole package. I didn’t really dislike any figure this year really. Some were just better than others. Stalker and Outback are two characters I never really had any connection to but their figures were just great toys.

Hard for me to pick a top 5 since a few are still sitting in a bin at BBTS, I'm also unsure when what arrived because of the shipping slow down at the beginning of the year and the speed up at the end. Here's mine:
  1. Crimson Guard
  2. B.A.T.
  3. Spirit
  4. Storm Shadow
  5. TF Outback
Solid list! 2022 was the hardest year yet to break down my favorites. CG, TF Outback, Croc Master, Mindbender, Tomax & Xamot, Alley Viper, Retro Gung Ho Cobra Officer and Sgt. Slaughter were all honorable mentions. I didn't hate any of them, disappointed in a few like Mindbender's shoulder stains.
A year from now, I'd be curious to see if Serpentor lives up to the hype to make it in your Top 5 or not. I'll always have Cobra Commander as the leader, but I can't deny the excellent work the Hasbro team put in on Serps.

Great selections! Stalker is one of my all time favorites and i just love the simplicity of this figure. Glad to see he made it on your list.
I totally agree on Mindbender, he could have cracked my Top 5 if it weren't for that mistake. My Serpentor's joints WERE extremely tight as a lot of other collectors, but I was just extremely careful and quickly figured his permanent pose I wanted him in. The $80 price point is worth it IMHO, because the Air Chariot is a freaking beast and the mold for Serpentor won't be used for anyone else I would imagine.

The Tiger Force Bazooka, Recondo, Duke w/RAM, and Python Patrol Cobra Trooper now have a release date of 1/13 on Target.com.
They haven’t hit the streets in the USA yet? They were I. Shelves early December in Canada

Sadly no. Far be it for Target to actually be timely with the release of their own exclusives.

No - the trend of AMERICAN properties continues to hit other countries first. Kim Jong-Un probably already has his in hand as he tries to figure out how to come up with his own elite force...

I've collected the classified line since launch and have found that the quality of the figures has really tanked. To begin with, the launch figures were the not the most sturdy solid figures, and I was hoping they would improve the quality. But the last year I feel like every figure has been made of rubber, has loose hip and ab joints, fall over easily, and almost feel like an arm or leg is going to rip off while posing them....they feel cheap. What is everyone else's thought on this?

I am selling a bunch of my sealed classified collection and going to mainly collect the characters from my childhood, but I really wish the quality was at least on par with NECA or McFarlane even.....(or the best quality for retail 6" figures were the original toy biz).

From my experience the quality on this line has varied. Some of them feel solid, some feel cheap. My cobra island viper felt cheap, and the female blue ninja has the rubberiest arms I've ever seen.

Spirit is my favorite Joe so far, he's perfect. I just got Zarana right after Christmas, and she's another home run.

Just a thought. For those wanting to end up doing a 1/6th Outback, this is the Hot Toys PMC 07, came out a long time ago. But over at OSW long ago, a few people did RAH customs using this head. This is one of those cases where the sculpt in person looks 300 percent better than the photos. I've seen it up close and it's really well done. I guess photo taking wasn't as refined then, over 15 years ago, compared to today.

The head wrap is molded on. How accessible this sculpt is today, I just don't know, I was gone for a very long time out of the hobby.

Also the Obama headsculpt from DID makes a great Doc RAH headsculpt. Add in that classic helmet and the aviator glasses and he looks just like Doc from the cartoons. I used to have a whole box full of heads for potential RAH customs back in the day.

I was waaayy into 1/6 back in the day. My fave PMC that anyone did is this Hot Toys one, using the Dominic Purcell headsculpt. I am hoping to to one day make a custom/kitbash with Joe and Vala parts, and maybe some gridiron too.

I also would like to make my original female PMC in 1/12

On the other HT PMC, I think you could also use Trigger's headsculpt and repaint the beard to recreate the PMC in 1/12 scale, which I know wasn't MeatHookGekk's point, but ya know... :lol

Mine have been fine on the few I've opened up. I mean...they are toy store-like action figures. Not sure what level of expectation you're after here.

Last time I actively collected a 6" scale line from an in-store retailer was the ToyBiz Marvel Legends line....still have a bunch and the quality is fantastic. So I've been basing my expectations on that, which obviously isn't the quality produced today for a retail line of 6" figures.

Someone was recently telling me that depending on which factory the figures are made in the quality can be hit or miss. Furthermore, I've read about multiple collectors trying to get figures that have a certain "a" or "b" marking on the bottom since one factory is better than the other and are differentiated by letter. I don't care enough to do that, but I think it goes to show that the quality is at the very least not consistent for a retail line.

I found a lone Tiger Force Recondo yesterday at a local Target.
Unless Hasbro decides to go back to original packaging, this will most likely be the last Classified figure I purchase at a store. Going forward, it will be either through BBTS or HP.
I like the figure a lot and I look forward to eventually getting his original 1984 version.

I suspect there is going to be a split between collectors coming over from 1/6th and collectors coming over from 4 inch.

As a primarily 1/6th collector, and mostly modern military, the current DAM figures are pushing 275-300, depending on the set. So my first thought is that a 25 dollar Classified figure ( I'm averaging it out some here) would mean I could get one DAM guy or 11-12 Classified guys. Even if I pushed the price point to 30 dollars a shot, that still comes to like 10 Classified guys over just one sixth scale figure. Plus it's less space. And there is a decent amount of support from other brands/3rd party/customs out there.

For 4 inch collectors, I can see some real sticker shock, and the value might not be there. The scale goes up and the detail goes up, but it's an entirely different form of collecting.

When I see bulk "value" , my expectations on quality goes down. Kind of like old Soldiers Of The World stuff at Target back in the day. I'd say to myself "This is a pretty cool accessory set for 7.99......" But if it was 19.99, I'd balk at the flaws inherent in the set.

Something I will say is this, there are some Classified sets that look like no doubt peg warmers. For example, Lady Jaye. In cases like that, Hasbro would be better off upping the accessory load out. This is a strategy that Ultimate Soldier did back in the day that was extremely effective. If the sold a motorcycle guy, they added in a mass weapons card inside, so you'd get 10 weapons, even if it didn't quite fit the entire theme. The issue was raw value to the set. Because the hope was people would look at the Hasbro comparison, see the fewer accessories and price tag, see the Ultimate Soldier one a little bit cheaper with more stuff inside, and that would swing the collector over.

Because of this scale, some accessories can't cost that much more to produce. I would have loaded up figures like Lady Jaye or Tomax/Xamot with way more stuff. Do you remember when Blue Box Toys had that old Cy Girls line? They'd pack a unique weapon in some of the sets, to entice collectors outside of female figure collecting to buy the set just for the rare accessory. One of the Mezco Blades has a ton of headsculpts and a ton of sunglasses, and I thought that was pretty cool to do.

A good example is the classic Cobra Viper laser rifle. And the Cobra Infantry laser submachine gun. Both classics from the RAH era. I just don't see a reason why every last single Cobra figure doesn't have both of those jammed into each set.

The marketing origin of "Flag Points" was to help get peg warmers sold and to push out old inventory. The same strategy could still work today. Maybe it's not a whole figure but maybe an accessory card. Same thing for the Super Trooper concept. You want people to support the line as a fan who perceives the brand can relate to the average collector, not just as a raw consumer and hobbyist.

Yes, the non-window packaging is annoying. All they have to do is have an exposed fig with all accessories secured with those tires and a pic on the back. Real simple - if you see the contents don't match with the pic, you don't buy. Then, it's Hasbro's problem, not the consumer's.

G.I. Joe Classified Agent Helix And Joe Troop Pack Announced Plus Live-Stream Coming In February

G.I. Joe Classified Agent Helix And Joe Troop Pack Announced Plus Live-Stream Coming In February
Hasbro by Jay Cochran January 27, 2023
Hasbro's Emily and Lenny from the G.I. Joe brand team today posted an unboxing video for the new Haslab Skystriker, and during the video the dropped the names of more G.I. Joe Classified 6" figures that will be coming in 2023. The first name dropped was Agent Helix from the IDW G.I. Joe comic series and the second was that they will be doing some kind of Joe Troop builder pack. The only hint they gave for the pack is that the troops would be coming with a lot of accessories and allow them to handle land or air. This could be a hint of a Jet Pack Trooper figure being included in the set. They also announced that there will be a G.I. Joe Live-Stream coming in February. They didn't give a date, but based on the Entertainment Earth Drop Zone page it sounds like we will be getting G.I. Joe pre-order on February 14. If a pre-order is coming on the 14th it makes sense a live-stream would come on or around that day. When more details become available we will be sure to let you know.
