So I took your advice on the electrical tape and rub off. So I took a lint roller to this figure. And there is a good amount of black that came off. I just kept rolling with some pressure until the sticky paper no longer picks up black. I don’t think this will get to the charcoal looking color, but at least it will sorta look matte. Thanks for the tip.

I didn’t mod the body at all. I think it looks pretty solid. The shoulders could be rounder and the legs a bit thicker but I’m pretty happy with it.

See, if that’s how he came out of the box, I’d feel more inclined to bite.

Sadly thats not what we're ever going to get

I still have this in my preorders, I really don't know how I feel with it now. I honestly don't want to waste time and money having to fix it might cancel it and get something else but this is the only time we might get the begins suit. Wait until InArt does one then we'll see a new improved DX version with the cowl. Smh

Aa far as rubbing the paint off, in order to do a new paint job you would have to prep the rubber suit with something. Whether that is alcohol, mineral spirits or acetone... you would have to take that shine off no matter what. After two weeks week my alcohol figure is holding up just fine. Nothing has changed on the surface. I am only saying this because a buddy speculated I could see things after a week or two.

@unrealtoys Has a safe way of matting down the suit as much as possible. His video is coming soon

I think it’s an interesting phenomenon personally. Wiping down a figure to fix what shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Sure Howard loves that. If I got one, I’d take a bath with it.

At this rate, you’re better off making your own Begins Batman figure.

If only I had that talent.

Wonder how long the suits last once this shiny substance has been stripped from it. Accurate or not, it may be crucial to durability.

Hot toys still deserves to be on for absolutely taking a dump on this figure, but at least with this mod, and a new head, and a new cape, you can buy a prime 1 statue with the money it takes to make this figure look somewhat good

Necks are accurate. The screen grab you posted is a completely different angle, I.e. looking up at him.

All necks are accurate, even Hot Toys pigeon neck, we just have to decide what posture we want to recreate

Amazed the HT is accurate. It’s like an optical illusion; it’s so inaccurate in all other ways one cannot even see the neck length is ok!
