Disappointing and frustrating though not surprising.

It's not just the height either is it, he looks too big in every dimension so there's no point trying to shorten him.

Didn’t Hot Toys revise the size on the Batman figures… there was a whole topic on the BvS figure being much bigger than the Keaton/Bale figures and isn’t the DX19 larger in scale to the previous versions?

Or am I remembering that all wrong?

Toy companies do this all the time. As lines progress, figures get larger and larger.

See Kenner.

Keaton is 5,7 ( 175 cm)
Kilmer is 5,9 ( 182 cm)

On the pic, the HT kilmer looks almost 6,5…

The math isn't that straight when converting cm to feet. It's better to convert cm to inches first then convert to feet. Rounded up, you get 69 inches with 175 cm and 72 inches with 182 cm. So it's more close to 5'9 and 6'0 feet.

Has anyone else got their Sonar Bats shipped from Sideshow this week? I placed my order on 14th Dec but after 2 days I asked them about the shipping and they said that it's not in stock, when I told them that few of us collectors have already received theirs from Sideshow they replied it was a limited first batch that they sent out, and now Sonar Bats will deliver around end of January 😶

I did a quick body swap with a body from the newest Hot Toys ROTJ Scout Trooper. This body is much too narrow and I had to pad the sides of the torso to make the suit not way too loose. He’s a much better height now and I’m okay with the proportions. I think a body with a similar height and wider shoulders could look great.

I’m open to an recommendations but probably going to see if there’s a good Worldbox option.

UPDATE: The suit being split at the waist makes posing a lot better. The figure captures the characters build more accurately now IMO and he doesn’t look like a basketball player in the suit. The body he comes with is the beefiest I have seen on a hot toys figure.

Great work but there is one mod that we all eagerly await and NEED to see.....
Did you give him that real juicy Bat-Ass?
Its an important part of the movie and the character!

^ Why they give the sonar suit the bat ass and the panther suit the nipples i just don't know.
They could combine them and call it the gimp suit. :ROFLMAO:

I remember reading somewhere that the nipples were included as a homage to Ancient Greek muscle cuirass' to indicate that Batman and Robin were spartan-like warriors as well as the "demigods" of the modern mythology of comics.

The Bat-Ass was just a treat for Joel, the ladies, and gentlemen of distinguished pleasures such as myself.

You read it totally right. Hope Hot Toys eventually make the Panther Suit and Clooney Bats as well

Yeah, mine arrived this last Tuesday from SS. Hopefully you get yours soon!! 🍻

Ok just opened up these 2 and they look fantastic. I am super happy with both Batman and Robin. I watched the movie again last night in preparation and these HT figures do not disappoint.....but

Maybe thats because I pose vanilla. There is very little action in these figures, the costume severely restricts movement and forcing poses WILL lead to deterioration of the rubber-absolutely convinced of this.

One other minor snag that I hit is that ON THEIR STANDS they do not fit together inside my preferred display unit - The Legends Studio Lighted display case. Which is disappointing to me as, well its Batman and robin they HAVE to be displayed together. I have the 66 pair together in the same size case but they came with much more conservative figure stands. Also Kilmer Batman is (as noted) a BIG guy. He will not fit inside the case ON HIS STAND by himself as he stands too tall.

Just wanted to point those issues out, certainly not enough to detract from the fantastic figures. Without stands they fit just fine and look beyond awesome. Maybe I can source some oval custom Batman Forever figure stands.

Glare city, but you get the idea :)

These are perfect.

Wow, they look great. I was planning to do a bat display in a moducase 110 but this makes me reconsider. I ordered the pair from a re distributor before sideshow started doing parallel releases. I always wanted two copies cause I don't think these will last too long or be reissued, intended to order some from HK when they released.

Went ahead and preordered a second robin from a distributor when Batman sold out there, now still waiting for bats. Might order one from eBay since it sounds like there is no guarantee sideshow will have them all out by end of the year. Want to have at least one of these under the tree.

I was holding out on Robin because not really a fan but considering the height issue I may have to pick him up seeing Batman doesn't really scale with the other Batmen/Jokers I have. Particularly the Burton figures. Now the question Is do I wait for a deal on Robin..

They do look great together though.
