No perfect one. But those immediately make me tell who they are without costumes are Leia ANH, Dooku, Cody, Solo, Rey TROS, Vader QS. The ones that doesn't strike me immediately are Anakin III, Jyn, Kenobi III (proto was very good), Jango, and Finn.

Outside my collection there are many HS that immediately strikes me who they are (regardless of expression which I don't enjoy some) almost all Leias, Fennec (on PO), Reeve Superman, Krennic, Ahsoka, some Boba Fett, Yondu, some Lukes, some Black Widows, Reva, Grand Inquisitor, Anakin II, Shuri, and so on.

@RavenAsh Seeing your excitement has been a awesome thing to see in this thread. Always nice to see someone get excited over a future collectible.

Too bad you'll have to wait until 2024 lol

In a few years, it’s going to be a decade since Leia came out and she’s doing alright.

Kept away from sunlight, smoke, and oil and this figure should be fine.

Thank you so much for saying that, it really means a lot! The wait will be long for sure but it's shorter than the three and a half years that we waited to reach this point. The hardest part of not knowing if this figure would ever happen is over!

I don't mean to be melodramatic, but the past few weeks have been a bit rough for me in my personal life and this announcement really turned the last 72 hours or so around for me mentally. Brought a lot of joy to these last few days. I haven't been this excited for something in a while, especially from Hot Toys. I'm glad to have gotten to share that here!

Just some comparisons I made based off some pictures from the original photoshoot. For me it’s definitely not a 10/10 based on the pictures we currently have, BUT there are some angles, and some placements of the eyes that have me extremely impressed. Especially that second comparison. Weirdly for me this is almost a sculpt that looks better the closer you get to it. A couple of the further away ones hide the likeness (like the fourth comparison, which I think looks off partly due to lighting and quality). But this is far and away immensely better than that 2019 con sculpt, and for that I’m thrilled. Maybe I’m easily pleased here, but my expectations have been far surpassed. Some of these shots are absolutely far better than I could have ever hoped for.

I think they look great. They're figures, plastic dolls, so of course they won't be 100% accurate to their human counterparts. But just the fact we're getting these two at all is awesome!
The only thing I'd say that makes them both look a little bit off would be Anakin looks too short, and Padme looks more...mature somehow.
Either way, these two are gonna end up in my collection.

Hey, keep that head up and hopefully we all get some announcements that can help brighten our days. Besides working through the pandemic, I too have been through a whirlwind of sadness, negativity and outright tragedy. For some of us, this hobby can be a slight escape and it is nice to know there are people, not only in this forum, but out in society that are supportive

Do what you can and take it a step at a time.

This figure by Hot Toys is by far the best Padme product on the market and it's still so surreal to see it up for preorder and already sitting as the number one best seller on sideshow immediately.

JC Hong and team should be thrilled with what they accomplished on this sculpt, even with some room for improvement. Just a wonderful day that reminds me why i started collecting in the first place.

Completely agree. And that’s basically because we all see people differently, and people look different in different pictures and when they are in motion. That’s why it’s a subjective experience. You’re right, it’s not Yondu but I’d personally also wager that it’s better than a majority of the Hot Toys announcements we’ve seen this year.


I would pretend that I wouldn’t have purchased the 2019 proto…but I can’t, I definitely would have talked myself into it. I’m just glad I didn’t have to because it turned out this incredible

Jyn has always been kind of the odd figure out in my collection so at one point I wanted to do a women of Star Wars display with her, Leia, Ahsoka, and Rey. Padme would’ve been perfect for that.

But everyone has been given a place since then so that idea is out.

Except Jyn still.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch, but I’m glad this brought you some respite from it. I hope things get better.

At the end of the day, toys and collectibles should be in our lives to bring us happiness so I’ve always felt communities dedicated to them should reflect that.

And in general, people here are positive and supportive (and also a bunch of enablers). So I do appreciate the genuine enthusiasm most folks here have, including yours.

Thank you so much Zurdo for all of these messages!! It's just such an exciting moment, feels like the last 8 years of collecting Hot Toys have all led to this. Those pics of our faves are amazing

But yes, I know this is usually the one that gets the most attention along with the Theed Invasion Queen Amidala look but I truly do believe the possibilities are large, especially with the obvious r&d they put into this sculpt. It'd be a shame if they didn't her costuming in those films was utterly out of this world (figuratively and literally).

Yeah I have enjoyed my time here for this very reason. It's a reminder of how vast the reactions can be but also how much something can mean to others. I think it's just so joyous, it can just bring such a sheer happiness out. Feel the same way!!

Thank you so much!! It's just so wonderful to look at Sideshow and see her sitting as the best seller. It feels surreal sometimes in the best way. I agree about the positivity of it, it's SO incredible when stuff like this happens because for each of us there is some key memory that the most important figures in our collection can bring us back to. I'm glad that we can escape sometimes and remember those things that bring us some peace. As I said earlier...it's like all the reasons I became a collector of Hot Toys being distilled into one piece. I did it so that I could have my favourite characters on my shelf with the best likenesses to some of my favourite actors and actresses which can bring about the wonderful emotions of moments from the films and my life. This one...as you can probably tell...gets about as high a grade as you can reach under those conditions. The wait, the 50 page speculation thread I used to read even before I made an account here...let alone the obvious that is my entire layout here. Hope all three of you have been able to find some of that same calmness and I genuinely hope everyone on this forum can feel the emotions I've felt this past week over this announcement. It's truly wonderful.
