Cotswold Collectibles just canceled my Admiral Kirk TMP pre-order.
Their explanation follows:
"I just wanted to reach out because we were contacted by Sideshow yesterday afternoon informing us that we will not be getting any EXO-6 Star Trek: The Motion Picture - Admiral James T. Kirk figures. Until yesterday, we were unaware that this was a limited-edition figure and were under the impression that we had until December 15th to place our preorder. However, our Sideshow rep informed us, they pre-sold out within days of their preorder going live. After the news that they (our distributor) could not supply this for us, we took it to the manufacturer EXO-6 but they’ve yet to respond. This predicament leaves us with our hands tied and having to cancel all orders for this figure.

We sincerely apologize and hate to have to cancel an order.

I think it's funny that they thought they could place a pre-order with Sideshow until Dec. 15
Even if they COULD wait until Dec. 15 it is fascinating that they were ACTUALLY waiting until then to place the order…especially with the holidays coming up…sounds like they really valued your business…

I just hope when it comes they've sized the base correctly and Kirk's feet aren't dangling above the floor like a child in a seat that's too big for it.
In that picture, the seat is too low and his feet are dangling over the edge of that step.

Nanjin posted this and described it as a 3 heights multilevel display stand. Have to say this is exactly what I want. Something to maximize the amount of figures I can display at a time.

I actually was trying to figure out a way to do something multilevel and of varying heights to display figures (kind of like risers). I don’t have the skill for this type of setup but I’m definitely interested for one or more of these.

Nice concept. If we get an Enterprise D chair I’d have the crew standing around a seated Picard.

It's that the circular base doesn't come out in front of the seat at all. There's literally no room for his feet. I did see Nanjin talking about different sizes so hopefully this is a thing that's been changed along the way 🙂

Apparently, feet dangling over the base is screen-accurate!

Oh God poor Kirk! As if I didn't suffer enough already watching every time he sits (since we all know how tight the pants were).

I have very short legs and I can tell you this is a very uncomfortable way to sit! After 5 minutes my feet start tingling. You can either sit at the edge, feet down at the ground, but then you can not lean at the backrest.

Or you can sit back but then the feet are dangling. My doctor got new chairs for the waiting room - I am not able to sit on these. You would need to bring a pillow to stuff it into the space between your back and the backrest. Maybe then.

Picard season 3 out February.

Ah - that explains it (LOL) - thanks!

I thought season 1 ended terribly so didn't bother with season 2, and won't with season 3 either (so I haven't been looking at ANY updates or news for nearly 3 years).

After season 1, we realised we'd rather keep our happy memories about the Star Trek characters un-corrupted so we've written off ALL Star Trek TV since Picard Season 1 as non-canon and best avoided.

I REALLY hope this doesn't happen to Popcultcha too. Nanjin doesn't deal directly with them and suspected they buy from SS.

While I didn’t hate either season I did agree with a lot of the critiques people made though visually season 2 did take steps in the right direction, we can put that down to changes behind the scenes including the hire of Doug Drexler for that one.

The trailers for the upcoming season do look good though and with people like Robert Meyer Burnett who isn’t shy of saying new Trek is terrible in his opinion stating openly positive things about it (he’s somehow seen a rough cut of at least some of it) im daring to hope it’s going to be great.

How that translates to possible figure wants for my collection will wait for when the season is done and I have processed it - when I’m already having to be rather harsh and selective of what makes the cut on shows and movies I grew up loving they are going to have to be really good!

My favorite Trek aficionado Robert Meyer Burnett has watched ALL episodes of Picard season 3 and has given it his highest praise. If you've ever watched his rants about his ultimate dislike of Trek under the Kurtzman era, you can't help but agree with his valid arguments. The man knows his stuff. I believe Picard season 3 will finally be what TNG fans have been waiting for. Naysayers be damned. Feb. 16, 2023 can't come soon enough.

I don't always agree with RMB but I have always appreciated his opinion as a life long Star Trek fan even when my own thoughts could be a 360 of his.

Mid Feb still seems so far away but in reality it will be here before we know it!
