Hot Toys MMS AOTC Padme Amidala (Speculation)

Dooku's already rather expensive on the aftermarket anyhow. It's why I'm praying for a quick ROTS re-issue in 2025...

Wooohooo! Can't wait for Padme. And I'm so glad I already have Dooku, Yoda, and Jango. Their prices are going to soar. I had to overpay for Yoda, but got the other 2 at retail.

I saw this notification on my phone while i was on my shift and had to contain my excitement for the whole damn night. One of my beliefs was that both this and Mace Windu have to be some of their best star wars pieces in terms of likeness and execution. Too long have these been teased and held out like carrots for us as collectors for the expectations to not be sky high. Hot Toys must know this. I always worried with Padme about her neck but from at least this angle…they may have corrected it. I REALLY hope it doesn’t come at the expense of the cloak because I love that whole ensemble.



The big question is the likeness. At the end of the day this figure basically rides on it completely. I’m really hoping they nail it, obviously. From that extremely exposed picture…the right half looks good, but obviously this is only just a starter. The one thing I will say is it looks like a different sculpt than the one shown at SDCC that fateful day in 2019. I think we all expected that.

Either way. This is wonderful, a day I and many of you have long waited for…and yet…I feel like I need to see the preorder happen before I post my celebration post. It definitely is closer than we’ve ever been before, but I need to see that preorder before the ewoks can come out with their yub nubs.

It’s funny that it really did come on just a random Wednesday/Thursday night. I know it was what many expected, but this definitely feels like christmas eve…preorders will be Christmas day. And now, I will sleep…waiting for that Christmas day. Hoping that it is only days away so that the wait time doesn’t take me into 2025.

I do hope her suit includes the serape/cape.

Now we'll need 2 Padmes, one Phicen body and a scissors.

The thing that gets me is that they are all such simple figures to make from the costume and body point of view.

Padme, Mace and Anakin are so quick and uncomplex to make. Yet they delay, delay and delay.

As someone who overpaid for Dooku earlier this year, I feel your pain.

So worth it though, one of the best HS's they've done. I wasn't fully into 1/6 when he came back a few years back so Dooku, Jinn and TPM Maul were 3 figures I skipped that I had to track down.

Sometimes, you don't know you need a $189 Yoda figure until a couple more figures, totaling over $1k, are announced

Prequel Yoda was only issued once. There have been two Yoda figures (OT and PT). I do have the OT one but would like them both.

Sure AOTC Yoda did have a kind of "2nd batch reissue" a few months after his initial release from Hot Toys, he was available to pre order again after selling out.

Glad my decision to sell off my Sideshow Windu looks to be paying off. I just couldn’t stand looking at it any longer.

I’m gonna have to get all of these. Dammit.
Two Super BDs IF they are actually the AOTC design. HT had better not screw us an put out that joke of a Mando redesign.

That’s not really a reissue though. That’s just batches shipping at different times.
