I agree this sculpt isn't great. But isn't this exactly what was solicited during the pre-order window? It always appeared to use the same sculpt from MMS380. So why are people surprised now? I don't get it. It's not like HT promised anything else. Where is this idea that the sculpt was going to be "improved" coming from?
I didn't like the sculpt but could live with it so pre-ordered it anyway to complete Marty and the Delorean. The hazmat suit is absolutely awful and the main reason I have cancelled.

Perhaps, but the sculpt was so clearly outdated and too young for a Doc in that outfit that it was only natural to expect HT would want to change or improve it somehow for better accuracy. Since we've certainly seen them do that with other figures.

Did Trevor sculpt the NECA Doc Brown? if he did I'm not surprised that it looks so good..now wishing if it was available in 1/6...

I took a shot at sculpting my own Doc a few years ago for a 1955 custom, but I'm just not a strong enough sculptor for that and decided I need to just stick to repainting figures instead. 😄

Eh, somewhat. Until you get to this:

And realise it's neither newly painted (at least going by the videos so far) or movie accurate with wrinkles and skin texture.

But yes, what they photographed a year ago is what they're selling now. No improvements. No changes.

Just an FYI that is standard text on pretty much every single human figure they have done for nearly ten years. If it’s a new sculpt obviously it’s a bit different. And that second statement only really changes if the figure has a beard or some other unique feature to the sculpt.

It's still a lie.

Now now...technically the BTTF2 sculpt was painted in 2018 this was painted in 2022, therefore...it is newly painted!!

Since when do Hot Toys put their name on the back of the neck?? is that new? I've NEVER seen that until this video.

The so-called "newly painted" sculpt was clearly a lie, going from the new video above. What a mess. Yet I'm still likely to keep my pre-order since it'll be ages for the UK to get them anyway and I've time to change my mind. What a mess for BTTF fans.
Did the bttf 2 doc have the brand print on the neck? DONT TELL ME THEY ADJUSTED THE MOLD TO DO THAT BUT NOT TO FILL THE HOLES 😬

Probably some people couldnt believe a company could be THAT lazy surely

But I still think there is a noticable dip from the prototype pictures

So...3,2,1... how long for the pleather belt to start breaking down...?

You know this accessory is going to be toast...

I am seriously thinking about sending this back to Sideshow Collectibles, eating my NRD/$38 CAD tax import bill... and moving on...
When the thin belt crumbles how will you hold up the tools and the pouch and all the stuff? **** hot toys I made up my mind now... No way I will get this at all not even for half price

The belt honestly kills it completely it was the final nail for me. They couldnt use literally ANY other material??

Sorry for the rant guys I am pissed they **** over this amazing franchise like this

And its like the one time they do something different from the usual marvel or star wars stuff and they give the least effort

I can't hate them completely since they are finally giving us the Part 2 DeLorean and Part 3 figures, but it's still really disappointing that they didn't put more effort into the sculpts.
