but I honestly thought they would at least fill the ear piece holes in.
Seriously it couldnt have been hard to just fill up the holes whether its a digital or traditional sculpt. It couldnt be anymore blatant by hot toys how little effort they wanted to give this property which made me wonder why they even bothered at all

Someone said they were probably at risk of loosing the license.. Maybe thats why they made a figure set from part 1 and a delorean from part 2 and another set from part 3

This will be an ”I’ve got no other options“ figure purchase

Thats exactly why I got marty. Bttf is so so dear to me that my thought process was its not great but I need a representation in my collection and this is all weve got. But honestly I still look at that marty and I still get frustrated and ask myself whos that supposed to be? and that repeated frustration and disappointment is not what I want to feel from a figure in my collection

Some time ago I would force myself to get this into my collection because of that reason but now I almost feel the opposite and this might sound extreme but now I feel that because Im a fan that having them would only be a disservice to the property especially because Im not getting the satisfaction from them that I should be. And maybe because of the lack of space and the saturated market and the rising costs that I have to be a bit more strict with what I collect as well and that something needs to pass a certain bar. And these dont impress anymore then some of these third party figures do.

Right now sadly the doc looks like he wont cut it :( I might decide either to keep or sell marty and the candle wax einstein and just get the delorean as my only bttf collection piece

Dang, hoping someone will jump on making a rooted hair replacement head for this one.

Also, Lloyd wore old age makeup for 1985, yet the sculpt resembles the young Doc from 1955. Weird.

I've been waiting for this one ever since they announced it and It's really not jumping at me like I thought it would. Normally I would celebrate an early release from Hot Toys but the timing isn't ideal for me as I imagine it won't be for others too. Hoping that some better photographs will do it.

The sculpt is actually decent in hand on the 2015 doc but they should have tweaked it for this release
Yeah I actually don't mind the sculpt on the previous figure anymore, since the younger face fits the movie and because of how good it looks with the visor.

But the sculpt just doesn't work AT ALL with this figure, in any way. And even for HT it's shocking how little effort they put into it.

I got the first issue Marty and I’m still happy with it but had this Doc figure at this quality been a $200 or less, all in, 3rd party offering I would have been happy. At almost $300 from a company that is suppose to be at the top of this game it’s just an ok to disappointing release for me.
I still want them both together on a stand so I’ll be buying.

The first marty head sculpt I think is better then the newer one

Hot Toys didn’t want to spend $100k for a new portrait and steel molds. They figured most who would buy it with a new head would also buy it with a head they already had molds for and they were correct.

Why exactly did Sideshow charge me for this if it isn't ready to ship and Sideshow isn't quite sure when it will be?

Not filling the holes in the head is utterly ridiculous and underlines that this was clearly a lazy money grab.

It's incredible that they've managed to make the expression completely devoid of life or personality, when the actor himself has one of the most expressive, unique and easily caricatured faces. I just googled Doc Brown figures and basically every one I found except for the funko pop was able to capture his personality and expressiveness better than this. How lazy to use the same old flawed head.

He looks like he's dead. Death face.

It’s not just the sculpt that’s awful, what is up with the hazmat suit? It looks like his mum has given it an iron for him so he can go skydiving.

Yeah, it's preparing to ship so I should have it by friday.

I got Marty last year and the sculpt isn't great either, so Doc will match well with it. :D But not filling in the holes for a figure that doesn't come with glasses is ridiculous at this price.

Wow. People complain about Justin’s videos. That Sideshow video is like nails on chalkboard to me.
Couldn’t agree more. I have never liked Guy’s work but it’s a 1000 times worse when he’s talking complete ********.

It’s because when he went to the future he got a facelift. Because they are reusing that head sculpt he looks way younger than he should be. Honestly HT should really be given a major serve on social media, it’s the worst case I can think of where their whole striving for screen accuracy has really failed them.

I wonder why HT decided to include the finger trigger, I remember an eagle-eyed member on the SS boards bought up the fact that Doc was missing the finger trigger for the watch. Maybe HT do read the Freaks?
