Probably going to get a lot of hate for this but I just pre ordered. I wanted Doc so bad to go with my Marty! Yes there is a lot negatives on this I agree with. Are we more annoyed at the reused sculpt or do we think the likeness etc is crap? Personally i think it’s a decent sculpt but by Jo means perfect but just lazy. That suit is going to need some serious work!

Agree with you all. This was a day one pre-order for me. I should have paid closer attention. I never liked that Lloyd sculpt.

Hot Toys have been cheap and lazy with this release, and yet still demand premium prices.

Now I've got to decide if I get him anyway as a shelf warmer to go with my first Marty and DeLorean, or forfeit the deposit.

If I keep him, it's in the hope a bootleg company sees a potential earner and produces a decent sculpt.

I think this will be one of the times where I put my money where my mouth is and not buy the figure

I am still interested to get the delorean but hot toys recent stuff makes me think they did not bother to fix the wheels on that either

Nothing wrong with buying what you like and anyone who says otherwise is a butthead.

The sculpt was criticized even as far back when the Pt II figure came out years ago as it looked too bland and lacking in detail which is only compounding the fact that it's being recycled. Doc in his Devo suit in no way should look like his Pt 2 counterpart but somehow HT saw fit to have the same head used twice. Coupled with that ill fitting and stiff suit, he kinda looks like a kitbash rather than a "high end" figure and I think HT should be aware that consumers aren't pleased.

Unfortunately the hazmat suit looks vaguely reminicent of one of those flying fox outfits : )

I guess I wasn't expecting anything more than what the promo pictures promised and thats about what they delivered. Ordered from Alter Ego, so I won't cancel, definitely lackluster effort though. Always nice to get one more pre-order off the books I suppose.

Why am I getting a feeling that that's the best review this figure will get on Sideshow?

Same sentiments as most everyone else. I did fully expect this sculpt but I honestly thought they would at least fill the ear piece holes in. And the downgrade in suit material and tailoring as well as the tool pouch material is even more disappointing.

This will be an ”I’ve got no other options“ figure purchase and sometimes I think HT is banking on sales for that very reason anymore.

It’s wild to get something as nice looking as Bo-Katan released at the same time as this.

Smh HT strikes again with taking the easy way low hanging fruit. I can’t stand that HS reason why I sold the BTTF2 doc. Anyway… I need the figure as an accessory to the car.

Definitely going to get this but I’ll wait for a discount. I passed on both BTTF2 figures at the time because I didn’t care for either head sculpt, and I grew to regret it (though my opinion of the sculpts never really changed). I agree it’s super lazy when you have companies like EXO-6 doing unique sculpts for each unique version of the same character, and at a fraction of the price.

If I was to give these lazy people credit, I'd say this looks like the proto (at least on most proto images) so we got what we ordered. But the fact ZERO! attempt was made to improve (not even a repaint?) the BTTF 2 sculpt, plus you're paying ~300 for what amounts to a not very well tailored set of clothing and an average detailed set of accessories is still fully extracting the urine.

Looks decent all geared up in the video next to Marty. Hopefully some extreme futzing will get the suit and tool bag looking better. The plutonium crate is the nicest looking piece in the set.

I think they did a brand new repaint... the light exposure might hindered it
