I'm really surprised that Sideshow hasn't done an unsealed and delivered video yet considering that they charged accounts 5 days ago. Makes me wonder if there are QC issues with the figure?

It's a bittersweet video. It's nice to see Clint Eastwood embracing the hobby and his involvement in the making of the figures, but such a shame it had to be Sideshow. It almost feels like Sideshow used Hot Toys reputation and figures to bait Clint Eastwood into giving them the rights to his likeness. I can't imagine SS showing Clint their final products of Beetlejuice and Snake Plissken as examples of their quality.

Maybe just maybe, Sideshow will put extra effort because of Eastwood's involvement and the final products will be as good as the prototypes, but I doubt it, given that even the prototypes are slightly below other 1/6 scale company quality.

Interestingly, they said Sideshow is the FIRST company to get Clint's likeness rights, so perhaps Threezero , Blitzway, and InArts will get them too at some point.
Could the appeal have been that Sideshow is an American company? I'm totally speculating, but it's possible that other companies approached Clint and he passed, preferring to support a domestic manufacturer. Sideshow's also been around a long time, longer than Hot Toys.

I'm nervously waiting for an unboxing video.

The protos look great but SSC has let me down many times before - their Nathan Drake from Uncharted was the biggest letdown for me. And the Superman Christopher Reeves PF statue supposedly is not good either.

I'm already on the hook with PO deposits for Dirty Harry and Man w/ No Name - if they turn out good, I'll likely get The Preacher as well.

“Supposedly”? Nah that statue is pretty bad. Anytime I think/hope Sideshow will finally do something great, it’s a let down. Not trying to give bad vibes as I really want these to turn out well. But man, it’s getting hard to support sideshow

There's definitely less room for error when a statue/figure is based on a real life actor.

Whereas, comic, mythos, etc. collectibles are more open to interpretation so collectors are not quite as anal about accuracy.

This is the 'new normal for Sideshow Collectibles' Do NOT release any video of a figure ... UNTIL after it ships!

...but don't call it 'bait and switch'

...call it typical

Accurac

accuracy is different than the quality of the piece, though. Lots of times HT doesn’t exactly nail the likeness on their figures BUT they still maintain a high paint, body, cut n sew, casting and just overall build quality which helps offset any inaccuracies there may be b/c generally speaking, HT pieces still look amazing.

Sideshow, on the other hand, has quality that’s been slipping for years. They Clone Wars Obi wan and Anakin figures pretty much all arrived with brittle waists/pelvis parts that were just ready to shatter with minimal posing. I’ve had their recent Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and R2D2 reissues that are considerably worse than the very first wave in over all quality.

Again, not trying to be a debbie-downer, b/c I want the Man with No Name figure and I want all the Clint Eastwood figures to be great! But I have my doubts

I want this line to be great. SS is not my first choice for anything. I could see Eastwood picking SS because they are an American company. SS needs to step up their production. Harry is by far their weakest proto. It's the one I find more cartoonish. If it looks like the proto and the people who purchased it like the feel and quality of the figure, then I'll feel better about the following two.

No in hand reviews and this guy goes to wait list? That’s a little much. Hopefully he’s back in stock soon but I’m not buying without some videos/pictures of final product.

My Dirty Harry arrived yesterday from Sideshow. Here are some pics with and without flash. Without bright LED's, his facial features are very dark/grayish and gaunt. I'm happy with it though. Just wish it came with sunglasses and a hot dog.

I tried really hard to capture the "gray-ish" look of his face in natural lighting, but it was very difficult. The closeup pic is with flash to show the facial details.

Well thanks for posting photos. About what I would expect from Sideshow. Paint looks ok, but he looks too short (not slim enough). The hair sculpt make his noggin look huge!
