From my point of view, just get a Classic Pred now and enjoy it. There doesn’t seem to a single hint of interest from Hot Toys to even revisit these guys in the immediate future.

Fugitive was shelved. Prey is being ignored. And even with the absolute best case scenario, one is announced tomorrow but we won’t even have it until Summer 2024 whereas you can start enjoying your upgraded Classic within the next week or so.
Exactly what I was thinking, by the time the new one comes, I've already got my moneys worth of enjoying the figure.

Sad to see they are being ignored.. I can only imagine how well they can pull them off now in 2022/23, the quills, fangs, skin, texture, armor. I can only salivate on my thoughts :lol . Thanks for the reply!

Hey guys, I'm really itching to pull the trigger on a Classic Pred and get a conversion kit so I can make him just like the 1987 Jungle Predator but I don't know what to do. Buy it now? What do you guys think now? Will we get one? I know hopes are low but ... ?

Why has no 3rd party company ever made any Predator for us, is it too complicated, too expensive? I know simple Super Hero figures sell better but I don't see why a good Pred wont sell well.

I messaged InArt way before and recommended Predator 1987 and they replied by thanking me about the suggestion and that they will tell the team, here's hoping at least but even if they make one it would be at least 2-3 years with how things are there so I really don't know what to do man.

I just want a jungle Predator since I just started collecting a few months ago and I've been searching the ENTIRE web for a Classic Predator each time getting closer to finally order him and get the damn conversion kit, but every single time something told me someone's gonna make him as soon as I waste so much money to make him look just like in the 1987 movie. :lol

Same here! Predator has recently acquired my interest, and I'd definitely like to have some collectibles from the films. It'd be great to get my hands on a HT Pred, but they're a pretty penny in the aftermarket. Ideally, HT should unveil new/revamped Predator figures, but, that seems unlikely unfortunately. My biggest Pred figure wants are from Prey since it's my personal favorite from the series 😁

That's true. On the other hand you could be waiting years for ''out of the blue'' to happen. Hot Toys are a frustrating company.
That could be the case yes. For me that's allright though. While I'd absolutely love to have a jungle hunter I'm in no rush to get one or convert a Classic now. This isn't some hype-of-the-moment kinda figure, so I know I'll be interested even if it takes another five years for one to be announced. And I can be very patient.

I saw that Prey released later than Thor Love and Thunder and the white villain Christian Bale figure just recently got announced, I'm very new to collecting so I don't know how quick they release figures from movies but.. there's a small chance maybe?...

I guess there is always a small chance. Lately HT seems swamped with lots of figures being announced later than we are used to.

We still haven't seen the Hawkeye figure from the show that aired a year ago. No She Hulk yet, nothing from Ms. Marvel. We only got the No Way Home final Battle Goblin recently, nothing from Andor...

So yeah, I'd say there is a chance. Probably a small one though.

This is the reason I've gone 1/12 for Predator, Alien, RoboCop and Terminator. I missed the boat on the HT versions and I'm unwilling to pay aftermarket prices. I may get the RoboCop and third parties are bringing out Terminator Arnies (I prefer an Endoskelton T-800 though).

Keep in mind Robocop 3.

That figure came out of the blue like a thunderstrike in a clear sky. Nobody saw that one coming, but here it is. It could happen for Predator as well.

:panic::panic:

Well as some say: HT doesn't make sense, do they? :rotfl

I hope I'll still be around collecting in the future! :lol :wink1:

But yeah I think I can patiently wait for a (higher-end) Predator figure.

Haha same! I'm far too late in the game for any HT figures of those, save for the upcoming R3 figure. Though I'm looking forward to Mezco's recently released JH Predator and the rerelease of Neca's 1/4 figure. I'm tempted by that third party T2 figure too.

To this day, no one has come close to topping the sculpt of the 1/4 NECA. The body proportions are perfect. But NECA is still a more mass produced figure and lower price means lower paint. Mezco's new figure is pretty good mixed media but it too lacks a quality paint. I'm still eagerly awaiting mine none the less.

Yeah I'm looking forward to it, and for the price I'd say it's a good deal. I think I recall seeing some photos of one repainted, which looked more in line with a higher-end statue! On a related note, I picked up their 1/4 comics Daredevil figure some time ago, I haven't opened it, but looking at it through the box window it looks fantastic!

The out of the blue game is a dangerous one because while not un-precedented, was there another example besides the recent Robocop?
The Pt II Delorean comes to mind. NO ONE would have predicted it coming especially since it's been so long and the first car sold poorly at the time due to HT showing off both models simultaneously.

At the end of the day, there's just no telling what Hot Toys will and will not do when it comes to their licenses, we can only speculate and that's why I hate the HT FB groups mostly consisting of people who starting collecting during the MCU Infinity Saga and spewing nonsense as if they have insider knowledge, such a a reissue of the Keaton Batman is "100% incoming" when in reality it was most likely a convention display piece.

Totally forgot they did actually show '89 Batman with his Batcave computer setup. But yeah, till a preorder goes up it can't be assumed to actually be happening.

It was simply history repeating itself. Remember the Power Loader 2.0?

Think that's why I forgot about the '89 Batcave diorama - stuff like the Powerloader 2.0 and 1/4 Police Station Assault T-800 - have taught me to take with a grain of salt anything from Hot Toys that doesn't immediately go to preorder stage.
