Finished this now.

It's essentially CW level schlock, and it's very, very predictable.

It really started to get dull around the 5th hour. It's at least 2-3 hours too long.

At the end of the day, it's the TV equivalent of fast food. It's decent enough to kill some time on a holiday weekend.
It was created by the two guys who did Smallville. So I expected it to be a bit CWish. It’s not fantastic, but I’d rate it higher than any thing CW of the last 5 years. I think I enjoyed it more as I watched it with my niece and she’s right in that demo this is made for so her enjoyment probably drove my opinion up a bit. I’d probably rewatch it if she wanted to and will at least give season 2 a shot if there is one.

Checked out the first episode at the recommendation of some friends.

I can see the appeal for people who don't watch a lot of TV or film, but for me, there's nothing novel about the trope of the intelligent misanthrope anymore (regardless of their age).

Not that hard to do. In his youth, Depp was "prettier" than most of his female co-stars.

Looking back, if I'm completely honest with myself, I only really like Beetlejuice and Batman.

Everything else is either "meh" or outright bad.

I saw "Edward Scissorhands" opening weekend and I was so disappointed. I think I've only watched it once since?

I tried to re-watch Batman Returns about a year ago and had to turn it off....it's an awful, awful movie. So is Sleepy Hollow. Looked pretty, but had a garbage script. Mars Attacks sucks too.

Later-era Burton is almost unwatchable in my opinion. Alice in Wonderland.....Dark Shadows.....Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....Planet of the Apes?? Crap. Alllll crap.

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure remains one of cinema's finest achievements, though.

I need to re-watch Planet of the Apes. Saw it a couple times, but several years ago. I remember it being enjoyable (probably because it's not a typical Burton-style film).

What about Big Fish? I love that movie.

I agree on the rest though.

I never saw Big Fish. I thought it looked dumb. My brother really liked it though.

It's a great movie. I'm not a huge Tim Burton fan, but that was my favourite movie of 2003.

It has an IMDb score of 8.0/10 from 442k ratings - definitely give it a watch.

As a big Addams Family fan, I think the show is alright. The girl that plays Wednesday is pretty good. She's more or less an older version of the 90's character. The Thing (hand) is also very good.

Having said that, the rest of the cast pales (no pun intended) in comparison to the 90's films. Gomez and Morticia have no chemistry. Morticia looks generic and Gomez has no energy. Their costumes also look cheap when compared to the 90's films.

Uncle Fester is more accurate to what Charles Addams intended, but I still prefer Christopher Lloyd's performance.

As for the story, meh, it's ok. It's not as if the 60's show or the 90's films were great.

Checks Ortega's age at the time of filming...

You're good!

If that movie focused on Tim Roth and his character, I think it would have been a better film. ( I felt the same way about the Hulk film, if it just focused on Blonsky instead)

Mostly I remember it because Burton casted a model, Estella Warren, to play a human slave girl. Except she looked like a model covered thinly in rags.

Yikes. That chick looks 18 at the oldest. I mean she’s probably like in her 20s but I was never a fan of the small skinny look she got going on.
