1/6 Hot Toys -TMS 092 - Obi-Wan Kenobi series: 501st Legion Clone Trooper (Version 2.0)

I'm here for the Anakin Re-Issue. I was sure it'd come in 2025 for the ROTS Anniversary, but I'll take it now. If this is just Dark Side, maybe I'll get a normal Anakin in 2025 or something.

Passing on these, prefer the previous one.

yeah if they reissue Dark Side Anakin I'll probably pick him just to represent both looks, but I don't really regret skipping him in favor of my Light Side Anakin.

He has sith eyes for basically all of 3 seconds in the film so I still felt the light side with the normal eyes was a better representation.

I was thinking we were gonna see a Jake Sully reissue tonight considering the cosbaby figures revealed yesterday. But they're doing a 501st 2.0.

My wife and I love Clones. We’ve been happy to be able to get a lot of Clone figures. But this is just ridiculous.

I mean Hot Toys, come on. Read the ****ing room. Clone collectors want more variety.

Why waste a slot with this figure? These don’t even match the rest of the 501st releases.

But sure, why not make this and not:

No it’s not new, at least not for Light side Anakin. He comes with that hand so I’m pretty sure the original Dark side version does as well.

And while I’m glad to see a potential reissue of Dark Side Anakin, I agree with you. Would love to see Padawan Anakin with Kenobi. Was Kenobi a master at that point yet though? I thought he was still a Knight during AOTC and wasn’t a master rank until ROTS? Or am I taking your text too seriously and that was just reference to Anakin calling Kenobi “master”??

My head hurts trying to understand the thought process behind this weird figure and the odd amount of effort that went into it.

Though really, the changes are significant and thorough enough to the point that it’s baffling they put in the time, effort, and resources for this when they don’t for so many other things.

It's a faceless character on one of the latest D+ shows. That's HT's MO and comfort zone. Anything else requires effort and potential risk.

Baffling really. When they're absolutely buried in unreleased figures on PO, when they're slow in actual releases, they burden themselves and their release schedule, their struggling production capability with this?
Personally I much prefer the darker blue so have no interest in this one at all.

The clones looked weird in OWK, the blue is wayyyy off of 501st blue. Easy pass.

Why would you post THIS comparisson when the new one looks so much worse overall?

While it’s true that’s where HT is most comfortable, there’s a ton of faceless characters and troopers they could do that would be even lower risk.

They sold through the 501st figures eventually but they sat around for almost a year and Sideshow had to start discounting them towards the end. This has the disadvantage of not matching any other Clone.

I like Kenobi but it’s not a universally loved show. There are troopers from all across the saga with no such baggage attached that people would buy up.

So it’s just weird. It’s a weird choice, a weird figure, and a weird amount of effort.

Give me the hobo trooper and you'll have my money.

Exactly. It’s so weird.

I like how they revealed this around the same time they posted the Vaughn blogger photos.

“Hey look, here’s some Clones that look better. Wait don’t look. Preorder the Kenobi 501st instead. But buy Vaughn too. And Rex. But not the 332nd cuz we’re sold out of that.”

It’s more of a downgrade than an update to be honest.

Looks a lot like the Clone from the poster to me to be fair.


Also the vast majority of clones look dumb AF compared to this in all honesty.
