That doesn't make any sense. They should all be kept the same. I would assume the majority of those that want one TMP figure will want them all.

Finger on the button at 08:57 hours PST—refreshed and pressed—- completed order at 09:02 hrs. Snagged TMP Kirk. —- NOW — to be home when it hits front door. —- AND be at the READY for Spock.

I’m not sure on McCoy. When the movie came out and he was first seen with the beard— I thought “How cool ! He was living his life as a “simple country doctor” ( yeah I still don’t understand how he ended up a hundred year old Starfleet Admiral). Anyway, I digress, when I noticed you guys start calling him “Disco McCoy” and I took a closer look at his outfit— I kind of turned me off to the look.

Yeah Disco McCoy is definitely going to look a bit out of place in the collection with that beard and outfit, and I really would have preferred him in his medical tunic, but I think they absolutely nailed the sculpt which is all the reason I need to pick one up.

I generally only get Kirk and Spock. And since Spock isn't in Starfleet uniform I won't be getting him either.

The big three are definite pickups.

These are the first time that we see the big three years after the end of the series. Bearded Bones will definitely catch one's eyes but what a great story they tell.

I guess what I'm saying is that if Kirk flew off the shelves, EXO-6 should run little risk producing TMP Spock and McCoy in the same quantities.

I feel similar. I really want a TMP crew in uniform so I am still trying to get some made but that should technically be a beardless McCoy so should I go for screen accurate or screen plausible? The bearded version does look great plus I already have transporter chief Rand.

Not judging by Nanjin's not-so-subtle hints. Seems like Spock is in the same qty, but not McCoy. He said the other two will be worth $500 in 6mo, and McCoy $800, so you can infer from that

I don’t really understand it either. I suppose he figures that the disco look is so odd that there won’t be as much demand, but I think it would make sense to make the same amount of all three. I’ll be kind of upset missing McCoy even if that’s not my most desired version of him.

I think he may be basing that off of sales of QMX McCoy, as I know a lot of people (myself included) hesitated a bit before buying him. And if the more iconic TOS McCoy had trouble selling out, you can only imagine what the sales for a TMP Disco version might be.

If the headsculpt on McCoy is recognizable as Deforest Kelley and the medallion is accurate and funky, there's no reason it couldn't outsell either Kirk or Spock.

# 1. We still don’t know, exactly what quantity of TMP actually is.
# 2. “Kolinar” Spock has been produced. I would presume in the same quantity.
# 3. Lesson learned from the fast sell out of Kirk, fans/customers won’t let it get by them and he may sell out that much quicker
#4. McCoy ( I know I’m going to offend some fans) is kind of a tertiary character.
He literally only appears in that image for seconds .
He has not actually been produced yet like Kirk and Spock. So Nanjin has
the ability to gage interest as to how many to produce ( not unlike preorders)
prior to actual production. He almost seems to me like those misprinted or misinformation baseball cards that are so unique they take on special value to collectors.
It’s collector/scalper value may be based only on the fact of how few are made.

Nanjin also knows the sales history of the QMX iconic TOS version of McCoy as compared to Kirk and Spock.

Personall, I very much want the Kolinar Spock to accompany TMP Kirk. But I won’t be too upset to miss and may actually pass on “Disco” McCoy.

Forgive me if its been mentioned already, but are they going to release Kolinahr Spock with the shaggy hair as an alternative head? I kind like that look, brief as it was.

I haven't seen anywhere that they are, so my guess is no.
I could be wrong, though.

In my opinion, over-hyping the limited availability causes unnecersary stress for collectors. Nanjin is guilty of this - stoking fear of missing out. Some people thought they'd go in minutes and the site would crash again. Reality is it still took hours to sell even with "extremely limited supplies - don't miss out or you'll regret it!!". Sideshow still apparently have him in stock 2 days later. Collecting is supposed to be fun.
