I agree that pictures probably don't really represent how the sculpt looks in hand, is this still horrible? We're honestly considering just completely removing it from the whole pack because nobody seems to like it.

This looks awesome! It looks so much different then the promo pictures.

personally not getting this because i don't want to jump into the video game figure rabbit hole, but this looks amazing so I will admire from afar. no matter what the price is, lots of goodies and fun accessories to play with for 250-350. you can't beat that. continue, limtoys has proven to make good stuff. i don't see why we stop here because some people say it doesn't look good. i bet other people outside this platform will have more positive opinion over this figure

Didn't think I'd be saying this about a LIM western figure, but there's not much I like about this one.

Don't like the coat, the denim or the odd '70s bell bottom trousers, though they may be accurate to the game.
I actually felt that way when he was first announced, mainly because I never finished the first game. Never felt much attachement to JM.
But after seeing these promo pics, I think I might need to get one of these after all.

On another note, that bowl of soup is making me hungry!

That first game really is a treat. I wish it would get a 4K restoration for the new generation of consoles.

I mean you won't find a pickier or more criticizing bunch than this forum so wouldn't really let it discourage for any future plans. Don't see anything wrong with people expressing their thoughts as well. Won't ever see a figure get 100% full praise top to bottom.

Only thing I would note on something to be tweaked on is perhaps the bottom of the pants. I think they're just a bit too exaggerated and could be a little more tapered but maybe it's correct as is. Will get him to display him with Arthur as he needs a companion figure!

I'm actually digging the 1907 look the most. Please don't consider scrapping that head.

Whatever it's worth, my vote says include it. That sculpt looks badass.

I don't think any part of this looks horrible, its quite a set with a ton of detail. I am just one of the few that played the old game far more, and judging by the way people talk about the series the old games basically don't exist for most people. The character models in the newer games are quite different as far as I can tell, so it makes sense that a release like this would cater to what most people expect to see. I just don't recognize a face familiar to me is all

Gunslinger #1 was an instant two figure pre-order but this one isn't doing it aesthetically.

He reminds me of a cartoon somehow.

I like the Schofield, Winchester, gun belt and accessories. The base not so much as it's a bit 'cutesy'.

The fishing rod and detonator I have from the VTS, so I'm struggling to push myself to pre-order even with a view to changing his clothes (or at least his trousers).
This would be a two figure PO for me. I would use one for the 1899 and the other for the 1907. I think it’s smart for Lim to include both heads. You’re almost getting John from two different games in one package.

VTS shares some of the items but Lim definitely beats them with the quality of theirs. Detonator, fishing rod and fish looks great.

This makes me want to sell my VTS figure now lol..

Not even the ones in that reply?

I come at this from the perspective of having no interest in the game at all.

Arthur, aka Gunslinger #1, was a great looking western figure, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

When I like a figure I know it because my pre-order finger gets itchy. Sometimes I try to quell the inner voice that says "no", and talk myself into liking something enough to buy it.

If not buying him means there won't be future offerings then that's disappointing.

I put the bandana mask on the VTS, which not only covered it up (!), but made a novel look that I wouldn't normally do for fear of dye seeping into the sculpt.

I liked the green coat that came with the VTS much more than the designs offered with the LIM.

Not having an interest in the game doesn't help with building excitement for the figure. I'm just looking for western characters that I like the look of.

Well we always listen to feedback and even change things on our own I don't think you will find many of our recent products that aren't massively upgraded from the prototype, and prototype development can be complicated as we actually went through various clothes tests before settling on these ones but if the pants are too baggy we will fix them, as well as any other iffy tailoring in mass production.

The paint doesn't represent what the final product will look like because it's missing a lot of layers which are added with printing but I've not seen one person who's happy with the first game sculpt, it looks quite good in hand in my opinion but such a negative response to it can't be ignored... we'll keep it but we don't know how much we can do to improve it since we use the actual game models as bases and in the first game the face structure isn't really the most realistic looking design you will find.

As far as the accessories not being interesting enough we wanted to keep this at an affordable price and give it some interesting stuff but simply put JM isn't really known for doing a lot more other than shooting and we already included TONS of stuff with the Gunslinger so we figure enybody who gets this will have the Gunslinger already so they can mix and match their accessories.

Ignore what people are saying. I promise that people are gonna preorder it and love it. I think it’s a great figure and your guys’ work on the gunslinger rivals hot toys with most of their stuff. You can’t let the naysayers get to you and this is the only place I’ve seen people complain about it. Everyone on Reddit and Facebook are loving the pictures! Stay positive and don’t let them get in your head.

I would definitely take it as constructive criticism. Even as is I think it looks great. Any RDR fan would agree.

The previous outlaw was figure of the year for me, and far surpassed the promo pictures. I can’t wait to see the final product for this one.

If I can offer some feedback on it. I think a bit more of an overall straight relaxed fit might look better for the pants. What's probably making the pants stick out a bit is how tight it is on the thighs and then it being too bubbly at the ankle. Gives his pants a big bubble flared look. I don't remember how his pants were in RDR2 so I might be wrong here. Correct me if the following image isn't his RDR1 look in 2. I think something more in line with the pants here might look better for the figure.

And I honestly think the 1907 sculpt is better than the other, with the hat on. Don't think I would even get this figure if it only had the RDR2 look personally. People have a weird nostaglic idea of how he looked in the first game, which was much more cartoonish in nature. I think you guys did a great job. His RDR1 sculpt just had a permanent scolded eyebrow attached to his face.
