I wanted to check and went through their checkout. It said $19 flat rate to the US. Might just pre order with them, seems the cheapest. I'm a little afraid of the usual blitzway downgrade. Do people think this one will be widely available to order once released?

Can we order directly from Blitzway? Their website says that they no longer deliver outside of Asia.

I think their site specifies large items, and this one doesn't qualify as a large item. At least up to the checkout, I was able to select the US and get a flat rate shipping fee. I haven't actually ordered so maybe they stop you at that point.

The problem with making it show specific is that it opens the figure up to nitpicks it would have otherwise avoided.

Cobain had much heavier and darker stubble at the Roseland show. Mid-93 was a goatee / heavy stubble time for him.
He also looks too much of a healthy weight. Not much you can do with a doll body, but the head and neck are much fuller than they were post 1992.

There's a few other things, but again - very nitpicky. Overall this looks quite good, though I don't see myself getting it.

As a long-time fan of Nirvana, a self-respecting Gen-Xer, and someone who lives with severe depression, and has lost close friends to suicide, the idea of this figure makes me feel incredibly sad.
But, living with severe depression, I’d imagine many things make you feel incredibly sad… Maybe a little Kurt dolly would actually put a smile on your face?

What’s actually to be sad about? Frances Bean owns Kurts likeness rights so she’s making money off a dad who took himself out of her life. Fair enough.

A 1/6 figure is really no different to buying any single piece of Nirvana merch post 94. A photo album, poster, the biography- they all use Kurt’s likeness and idol status to make money for people who aren’t Kurt.

Would he approve? He gave up his right to have a say in the matter so this is where we are.

I'm feeling like that might be a seamless arm. Maybe they're going to pull that Bill and Ted body out for use again. You can mildly see the mold seam line along the arm, can anyone cross ref that to the B&T figures?

I'm def gonna be putting another figure together with that second sculpt. It's gonna be fun scouring ebay and 1/6 sites to put together a grunge outfit.
As expensive as this is I gotta get him. There's nothing remotely like this on the market and probably not gonna be. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a train wreck.

Blitzway do kind of have a history of botching the final product.
I only own their Zorro but I think it turned out well enough that I’m not too fearful of a huge downgrade in quality for the final product.

So long as the sculpt doesn’t get warped during production, I’ll be happy.

I don't own any Blitzway figures, but from what I can tell it seems, at least overall, their sculpts themselves turn out pretty good as far as quality and likeness goes. It's the paint that takes a hit. Going back through some of their catalog the final sculpts take on a sort of waxy look until they're repainted. Even so, they're far from the worst offenders I've seen with final head sculpts. I really do not care for what the Hendrix sculpt turned out to be. I wasn't that crazy over the expression they went with from the get go,however the prototype did look great, but then the factory product just looked cheap to me. The paint for the skin tone and it's texture, that terrible, terrible hair. I'd be so bummed if I received that.

So yeah. 😆 It could just change at a later date. I'm holding off for now as far as ordering goes. I do want the bonus sunglasses though so I'll probably be going with whom ever has those along with the cheapest shipping.

Oh man, I really wanted him, but $400 is ridiculous. Pass. I mean he doesn't even have rooted hair.

It’s a tough pill to swallow. I’ll put shipping at $45 so the figure is around $355-$360.

HT seem to be charging $300 for basic, bare-bones figures now so, this having two headsculpts of a likeness that I’m sure didn’t come cheap, a guitar, all unique hands and an original base kind of makes the price make more sense.

Deluxe Black Adam is $360 so these are kind of comparable recent POs. This is basically just what figures cost now.

I think everything is overpriced currently and Blitzway were always one of the worst offenders but at least it’s making me more selective now.
Buying characters I truly care about is far more rewarding than just jumping on the weekly hype train.
