The big question…. GTG with regular eyes?🤞
Might swap if that’s the case.
I would buy it in a heartbeat. That is my biggest issue with the Crown one. Overall I still love the figure but if I could the sculpt with regular eyes I would absolutely get that upgrade. I would probably get two. I still have the original Gandalf.

Get excited everyone

Taking a bunch of iPhone pictures tonight because I am too tired to deal with my camera right now. Will add more as I get good ones.

The rooted hair is impeccable. I can’t find any fault with it in style or craftsmanship. The likeness is great and the paint apps are clean. This one definitely has more life to the paint than previous Asmus releases. His skin tone is a little dark but honestly looks good IMO and kind of gives him a flush complexion like he’s been in battle. I could see people taking issue with it but I’m pretty happy.

The skirt is really not too bad in person but it could be lighter. I think most people will be fine with it.

The staff is too short.

Shadowfax is better than expected.

For some reason mine is completely missing Glamdring and the scabbard. Have already emailed Asmus about a solution.

Looks really great, appreciate the review! Looks like mostly good with a few small criticisms, very happy to hear that. Hoping mine ships tomorrow, very excited to see this guy for myself!

Looks great. Does look a little too tan/flushed but isn't as bad as expected.

Might grab him from Sideshow or BBTS and just sell Shadowfax. If anyone wants the horse alone let me know.

I’d agree it’s Asmus best figure. It’s not perfect (what figure is?) but there’s no glaring issue and it’s hard not to get excited about owning it when you see him on Shadowfax ready to fight the witch king. There’s nothing I immediately want to change except that I’ve ironed the lapel of the outer robe since taking these photos, it worked perfectly by the way.

Beautiful.

OK... so questions:

Is Shadowfax polystone? How's the weight? Do you fear shelf dive survivability?

Will water treatment help the clothing, or is the material more synthetic?

I honestly don’t have much experience with polystone so I wouldn’t be able to confirm if that’s what he is. I’ll be putting him on a bottom shelf but I think a Detolf shelf would hold him. Probably weighs about the same as a 1/4 figure.

The clothing seems to be mostly types of polyester if I had to guess. I think the best advice is to tighten the belt and pull excess material towards the back. The outer robe took ironing really well but the vest and sleeves I think could easily be damaged by an iron.

According to the product page on Asmus website, Shadowfax is polystone.

I know, which is crazy. Weight-wise and risk-of-breakage-wise. I wonder how polystone made more sense than hollow plastic? It's the one thing keeping me off Shadowfax. The way my display works, this would be on top of the detolfs... and that's too risky for me.

Thank you.

There is zero chance this would be a problem on the top of any Detolf unless you also keep some dumbbells up there.

My 20lb cat sleeps on and jumps off my Detolfs every day. This weighs way less than a cat.
