Actually, I'm not even that worried whether Snyder comes back or not. Sure, I would like more Snyder DC movies, but I'm fine if they keep to the tone set up by Snyder. After all, it was ample enough to allow for films like WW and Aquaman. It was unfortunate that by all accounts they butchered Ayer's SS.
As a matter of fact, it would be pretty cool if other DCEU directors, like Phillips and Reeves were to play in Snyder's sandbox. I am sure they could give us amazing movies set up in Snyder's universe and with his characters.

Yep I'm with you there, it's just I don't really trust Gunn or anyone else to still stick to Zack's tone necessarily. There's been too much time and chaos in between and just having the actors back may not be enough. WB are just as likely to take them and go off on their own way, especially if Cavill only wants a joyful Superman (hopefully that's just for the next film).

Maybe that's also somewhat why I'm clinging onto the hope that Zack will still be involved at some point when they get the actual plan together. With some luck that will still culminate in Darkseid coming to earth with Zack directing that Endgame couple of movies.

Probably best not to think about it tbh.

Guys very very sad news. I know it is not film related but Kevin Conroy passed away. I still canot believe it happened. I just cannot find words. :(

Sure all of it is speculation as always, but considering all we've been through with WB, I'm not going to let myself think too much in one direction or the other. At least the chances are 1000% higher now with Emmerich & Co. gone.

But for me there's still plenty of time, and Gunn only started a week ago. Like he mentioned they'll also want to be doing their own plan as well before they contact anyone imo.

But like you, if we get into next year, or no news post Rebel Moon etc then I'll certainly not be as invested.

Actually thinking about it, for me (and presumably other Snyder fans) it'll feel like the current MCU. i.e all the goodness has been drained out of it somehow with little to no interest in whatever they put out.

MCU pretty much peaked dramatically with Endgame given it’s climax to the infinity stones plot. Although honestly I liked Infinity War better.

Same. My fav avengers film. The whole time travel and lord of the rings style battle at the end was kinda silly to me. Infinity war just felt like the stakes were super high

Hope Flash doesn't go south like Black Adam- they really need another Aquaman big grosser. Might have to wait for Superman 2 or whatever they call it. Not sure AQ2 will be as huge as first one.

I really want a Batfleck solo film. I can dream.

Yep, I typically consider IW and Endgame as one thing anyway. But yes it doesn't get much better than that as a finale with mega payoff over the 20 odd films.

At least WB seems to be aiming to that type of event I assume. So give them time to work through it and earn the final event which hopefully Zack will be back to direct. That would be a pretty decent scenario.

Well Affleck apparantly has a 3 film deal (plus one cameo/small role). So given Affleck was so keen on his original script which included Deathstroke I can't imagine he would want to do anything too far away from that. Then there is also the backstory with Robin, Leto Joker and Harley Quinn (as discussed in the Knightmare scene, and the joker defaced armour in the batcave in BvS.

So that whole backstory would be pretty epic and fit into the larger story arc which Zack setup.

It'd give them free license to fill in the gaps with a story incorporating any other villains/characters Gunn wants to introduce as well.

So it'd be a win-win imo. 3 solo movies wouldn't be a bad thing right.....

Disclaimer: lol, sorry folks, obviously I’m still venting about my own coming to terms with what I write about below. Just using the Affleck contract (whatever it is) as a jumping off point.

Unfortunately this report (I’m referring to the specifics of it) is from Mikey Sutton who I think by now has shown himself to be making **** up. Zack said directly that he hasn’t even received a call from the new WBD leadership. Seriously, watch his nonverbal communication when he says that. Imo he’s being totally real there. It’s time to let go of fantasies that Zack has already secretly made a verbal deal with WBD on the DL that he just can’t talk about.

Now to be fair, for a while in here after Zaslav took over it really did look we were getting restoration of the Snyderverse. Old regime fired. Films that were undoing the Snyderverse cancelled or reshot. Brought back Ben and Henry. All this probably meant Zack was returning to make DC films again. Presumably JL 2 and 3, plus whatever else.

But unfortunately by now, I have to admit that it looks to me like what WBD leadership is doing is keeping the Snyderverse foundation BUT telling their own story toward a new grand finale of Darkseid invading to claim the antilife equation.

At one point that might well have been Zack’s vision for JL 2 and 3. But I suspect now they‘re going to tell their own version.

How awesome Zack’s vision for the Knightmare future would have been! I just don’t have confidence that they will bring him back for that at this point. I think they’re going to head off on another direction for how to bring Darkseid back.

Obviously time will tell, and maybe Snyder fans will eventually be pleasantly surprised, and they will bring Zack back to make the Knightmare future film. But I no longer have any faith whatsoever that that’s what WBD will do.

As for Affleck’s future with the DCU I really don‘t know. Obviously I hope that Ben is back for more than just cameos, i.e., for major roles in several films including his solo film versus Deathstroke. But I don’t trust Mikey Sutton’s reporting. At all.

:) I guess it all depends what the Snyderverse means to each of us. For some it means 1:1 what Zack had planned, and anything else is not OK.

I think it's pretty clear the 1:1 realisation, even with the modified "non-released" plan Zack had, won't be a reality. Coorporations don't want to be held ransom to the fans. It's a fine line I guess from keeping them happy and letting them have too much to say.

In any case, I'm in line with your thinking though that WB will do their own thing, however stay within the boundaries of what was setup before. For me that's still Snyderverse allbeit not ideal 100% Snyderverse.

What's NOT Snyderverse however is whatever the previous regime had planned. i.e a re-boot using the Flash film to bring Batgirl, Supergirl and Keaton in to replace Cavill & Affleck.

I can understand losing some hope, but I think we'll end up with some good content going forward. Affleck also wanted creative input to his films, and given his experience and star power, they'll give that to him (especially if Cavill got it). Sure Mikey Sutton could be making it all up, but time will tell I guess.

At least Gunn is pretty vocal and transparent on social media. He showed that Lobo pic which seemed pretty quick considering he's only been there for a short time. I also think he understands the power of informing people of the slate going forward (ala MCU), so I wouldn't be surprised if we get some more announcements going forward once they get a clearer plan.

So until then I guess it's a waiting game.

However should the next few released details look crappy I'll be right there with you Alatar, losing faith quickly !

I finally had the time, set down and watched 4 hours long, ZSJL today. It is not perfect but i liked it overall, it certainly is the best DC Film of Zack Snyder. So much better than the lack luster, snore fast Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I am still glad WB left Zack Snyder behind though, because Superman's murder of Zod and Batman being a murderer in his films bothers me so much. I really like the latest Matt Reeves take on Batman... Well, Robert Pattinson's Bruce is emo and stuff lol but he is a solid Batman in costume for sure. Don't get me wrong, i like Cavill and Affleck as well, but they were missguided by Zack Snyder's vision as Superman and Batman.

I don't think he is, not the way you mean anyway. He comments on the Ayer Cut but lumps it with Legends of Tomorrow which came off as a way to undermine the sheer number and amount of time people have been asking for it, even himself previously saying he's okay with it coming out.
He also went out of his way to comment on a Snyder fan with a poorly timed hashtag (Conroy post) seemingly ignoring way worse comments.
I could be wrong but quite a few seem targeted.

You don't mind Pattinsons Batman murdering people though? :lol Seems a little hypocritical.

A lot of people don’t realize that just about every live action Batman has murdered people. Keaton, Bale, Affleck, and Pattinson are all guilty.

where did he kill ? as far as i saw the film in theathers, Pattinson Batman killed no one ? He had a no kill rule, that was what i liked about the film the most.

The batmobile chase scene…? I’d be shocked if people on the highway escaped unscathed after all of the explosions. The aftermath seemed to really bother Bruce. :lol
