Same here. I could see this cluster **** coming from that first poorly constructed rsvp email.

I'm pretty much done with MCU collecting in general anyways. This would have been nice to have though as Cap is my favorite, I have every other cap and TWS is mcu favorite film.

Im actually more annoyed that their consolation email with the 30% off code doesn’t work on everything In stock. I don’t understand why they don’t just make all in-stock items eligible. Whether it’s eligible today or a month from now, I’m still waiting to use a good promo code. So basically, they’re just delaying me giving them money.

Yea I think this was the icing on the cake of the crap show that today was with this order. Part of me was like “well 30% is pretty good even if I missed out” only to find out it’s only for all the junk they’ve been trying to get rid of for the past year or so. Gotta love how the email says there’s 100+ items to choose from and it definitely doesn’t look that way based on what I saw as available for the coupon

I do wish the 30% would’ve been good for any in stock item. Whaddya gonna go. Really hope Hot Toys gives another run of this guy sometime in the not so distant future.

Exactly. I probably could have gotten this as I had him in my cart ready to check out within seconds but when I saw I couldn't use rewards I waffled for quite a while before deciding it wasn't worth it. No regrets on that front but it chafes my @ss that Sideshow would exclude reward use with absolutely no advance warning. A real d!ck move in my opinion.

Since when did it kick that you can't use your rewards for whatever purchase you intend to use it on? That's what you call some B.S. of the highest order.

I found the site problems and the puffcake 30% today quite comical - so, no anger on my end but definitely reiterates my stance to be out of the 1/6 game (particularly from sideshow) by 2024/2025 with declining orders between now and that point.

This whole thing was a **** show. **** SS and HT what a bunch of morons. Smh I'm going to probably quit buying from SS and HT I'll stick with other companies and InArt moving forward.

It is really bad marketing when you don't create FOMO but just pissed off customers who are turned off lol.

I’ve already slowed to only buying exclusives from Sideshow, so I wouldn’t say this put a bad taste in my mouth as far as ordering goes, even though it did suck across the board. But that’s b/c I’ve already sorta given up on them I mostly order from Alter Ego or Timewalker these days.

But the site freezing was definitely inexcusable. With how big/popular they are and how many resources Sideshow has these days compared to years before, this should not be happening.

Canceled most of my pre-orders already. Will definitely wind down my collecting and focus more on other things like travel and home upgrades

I did the same. After asking to order over the phone, I was told their computers were not “set up” to take orders for this specific item by phone, only on the website.

I didn't want to say this while people were upset but I think I was one of the first people that called in while the website was down and they put in an order for me. The rep alluded to the fact that they were being told not to do this. I was also on chat at the same time and he almost did it before he said they weren't allowed to do it. The lady on the phone came through. Just lucky I was home from work today.

This was on my list of figs for a long time. If I ever want something this bad again, I'll pay the HK premium. **** this.

I must have just caught someone in a good mood. All I know is that they were able to take my order and it reflects that in my account.

Im glad I was able to get one though. Captain America is by far my favorite hero.

I called as well and was told no phone orders are allowed and their techs are working on the issue. Never was able to get the figure,, what a dick move SSC ..
I will continue to,order from them but only with the free money they give out.

I feel like this is an example of how HT has gotten away from the whole mixed media part of 1/6th beauty. The straps, the buckles, the pouches -- all molded now. I've seen small military buckles on figures -- why not here?

And the hands still look too small.

His harness and belt are actually still pleather on this one, not molded plastic. But you are correct about the buckles and pouches being molded plastic; however, they have been that way for all mainline Cap suits except First Avenger, so it’s nothing new for Cap.

That’s not to say that I don’t agree with you though, as the majority of their figures these days have molded plastic belts, pouches, straps, etc. instead of real fabric/mixed media. There is the longevity factor that I assume plays a large role in the decision to go with well sculpted plastic than mixed media as the the original FA Cap’s parts tend to flake at this point and would require replacements down the road unlike a sculpted item. But no matter how well sculpted and painted, you can usually always tell plastic vs a real fabric material.

Back in the days when there was the battle between Medicom and Hot Toys, I always loved how HT usually used real fabric materials in their figures vs medicom who usually just did fully sculpted soft plastic belts, straps, etc.

Yeah, this has been going on for many years, but it always jumps out at me with a figure like this -- very little to it, and where real pouches and a few real buckles would really liven the figure up instead of moving it toward a full plastic toy soldier.

dang, same here.....totally BS system this round and wasted my day at this item.....i am more inclined to think the system issues screwed many of us early birds over and those later actually benefitted, while we were busy refreshing the page and retrying. definitely not 1st come 1st server this round, unlike the queue systems we see for iphone ordering, right?
