Yep - she knew i got ripped off to the value of €600. After nearly 2 years of nothing, i tried this and bingo. 🔥
I wrote all rhe messages from both sources - worked directly. 😏

I recieved 2 1/6 Asmus Prologue Elven Archers and a Phicen M35 body - you're welcome 🍷😏

I can't think of any good reason to pre order something from ebay, not when there's more reputable Hong Kong sellers around.

Yeah but remember - this was 2 years ago before the scam appeared. Also they were just auctions, so winning a $250 figure for only $70 was a shot worth taking......thennthe scam system was revealed half a year later.

if it looks too good to be true- it definitely is.

The older adage supersedes that: a sucker is born every minute

This has been going on on ebay for far longer than just the last two years, incidentally. This has been going on for a decade or more. New buyers, like RAN, just don't know the history until they get scammed and start to research the problem.

Personally, I don't see the benefit of taking a year or more of effort to gain a few replacement items that mean nothing to you.

My guess is that you just pestered them enough they finally just gave you some stuff to get rid of you. I've had similar success with similar tactics. Also discussing them on a public forum somewhere and letting them have the link... can help. I actually think most of these people aren't necessarily setting out to commit fraud, they often just run out of whatever it was they sold you and are also not particularly motivated to make it right if the time for ebay to club them about it has expired.

I can tell you as a parental unit and maybe more importantly, a civil litigation attorney, that there actually isn't much you can do against someone located in China. I mean you COULD in theory file a suit- but it is dang hard and expensive. And somehow I doubt they have a local agent who will accept service...

That said, you CAN actually make a police report, and submit a complaint to the FBI through ic3 Internet Crime Complaint Center(IC3) | Home Page (but that doesn't actually do much ... it does sound good though?)

I guess the best thing is to not buy preorders on ebay. And I think a good rule of thumb is that if it looks too good to be true- it definitely is.

The Amsus Prologue Elven Archers where twobi was supposed to get - they just didn't want to send me the other 4 figures - i won themnall for $70 each on pre-auction, I didn't spend over.a year fighting, or two years. I finally decided to do something. Don't know about you but $600 is a lot of money for me and getting two figures i originally wanted and breaking even is a win - they could just continue to block me as they did and forget - its one of the other things you hvae to get around. Also remember: these guys where legit till they all started this scam at the same time, which is why these sellers where only listed and addressed onnforum when they were. Cool if you got the doe to burn, i don't - and certainly not for 1/6 figures.

No, they had blocked me from communication and really didn't have to do anything at all - just forget me, like they had done. They were still selling the same figures and still are - they just didn't want to send them at $70 a pop at such a loss under covid when people were afraid to recive parcels from China and sles went down.. If you pay full price , you get them, however these original auctions went too low. Like i said - they blocked me, they still sell the figures - they will not take the loss and will not refund. They don't have to do anything. Of ourse i know that i cannot do anything in acourt of Law and that if i did, it would be real expensibe - that was never intendes. Point of fact is - after all said and done - blocked, outside of all refund timelines, i managed to get my moneys worth of figures i wanted when i was done and dusted. I see it as a winn, even though i didn't get all 6 figures i should have. I am three up, when i have had nothing, nothing but a flatline in communication and figures. Regards, RAN

Not really scam related but somehow related to purchases in Asia. I didn't find a proper topic about shipping rates from Asia and don't really think it needs it's own topic so i'll ask this here.

Can anyone that uses or used Fedex Priority to get a parcel shipped from Asia share their experience? How much did you end up paying for this service? Did the rates went up a lot in the last few years? Thanks in advance for your input.

i for one admire your persistence & when things are sold as auctions there far less suspicious (i have won many items at crazy prices ie neon tech mk6 £105 ) but i do believe there was no intention for them to send goods out because there feedback would show items bought & sent at the highest prices & i can find none.

Got scammed by sc store9999. Preordered and paid in full for a Gametoys Cloud + Bike back then. They never send anything. Guess I learned my lesson. Now I only buy from a few selected China/Hongkong based sellers, like Timcent or Giantoy.

sc_store9999 definitely is a scammer. scammed me 2 years now without my item (i know i will never receive it) but apparently their ebay site is nonexistent now

2 years later and i haven't received my item from sc_store9999 and now the account is inactive so most definitely scammer

What a twist, it's not like that this name is in the thread title with the word scammer next to it.

Last time i checked they changed name.

I also got scammed 2-3 years ago by this seller and red star 2013. I never preorder on ebay ever again. But i know good shops now, that was a rookie mistake

Ahh red star. I'm still blocked from buying anything from them after they scammed me out of an MTToys Jill kit. They're stuff doesn't even show up in ebay's search when I'm logged in. lol
Only lost $68 though (thankfully) and learned a valuable lesson - never, ever pre-order anything from ebay. In fact, best bet is to simply not trust any seller. Which is why I don't even pay in full for PO's on sites that are trusted. Theres nothing stopping any of them from taking your money and running off with it.

Hi Fellow freaks,

I thought I would name and shame these Fraudulent sellers on eBay. I pre ordered The Hot Toys Mandalorian remnant Stormtrooper from an eBay seller known as "red_star2013" and also pre ordered the Hot Toys Madalorian figure from " sc store9999 " Both sellers sent shipping information to me back in January, which was very odd as we all know this is impossible as the figures were never released at that time. I contacted ebay regarding this issue at the time, as I tried to contact both sellers and had no response. eBay managed to contact the sellers who then got back to me to say that the shipping information they sent me was " just an order code " that they give out prior to the figures release. I gave them the benefit of doubt, but now after chasing "red_star2013" for the Hot toys Mandalorian Stormtrooper shipping date, I have had no response and further more because of the purchase date for both the figures, eBay and paypal have washed there hands of both transactions, as they are too old for them to get involved with. So it looks as though I've been scammed for ?400 Gutted as this has never happened to me on a pre order from eBay before. If you check there feedback it looks as though they has done the same to several other buyers. I checked their feedback prior to purchase and they were 100% at the time so I thought I was in safe hands. Please share these seller names on any other collector forums so that these scammers get a bad rep and others don't get caught out like I have. Does anyone know if there are any other avenues I could explore to getting my money back? any advise would be much appreciated :)
Same thing happened to me with the same seller. Normally I'd keep waiting but they changed their store name and stopped replying to me. They now go by figure*store and refuse to reply to inquiries. Very strange, considering I've successfully bought from them twice before.
