Man.

I will never forgive myself for not buying multiples of all of these when they were available at retail.

Way I see it, if you want to have all the variations of RoboCop on display at once, you're gonna need to buy SEVEN different figures. (Possibly eight, if that Robo-torso shares parts with regular Robo and you can't display them together at the same time.) Totally impossible now that the first and second version are completely sold out and command disgustingly high aftermarket prices.

I still think the unhelmeted RoboCop 2 figure is such a rip-off. But if I had the funds (which I do not) I think a great way to display him would be in the chair that comes with the NECA version.

Yeah I'm a little mixed on it. I will have RoboCop 1 figure so getting the unmasked/battle damaged one naturally makes the pair.

I don't have the original R2 figure so getting this version feels off. A helmet would help massively, esp considering they fixed the blue!

I'm sure their excuse would be that the helmeted version requires the black round piece around the collar , and since this is the UNHELMETED version, in the interest of accuracy, they can't include that collar piece in the tooling.

Now of course they could just tool up a new removable collar piece to slip on, and we already have the black neck and fully-helmeted sculpt that could just be plugged in. But my guess is they must have paid whatever (large) amount Weller was demanding for his likeness so they decided to get their money's worth and offer more than one figure with the unhelmeted face as the main selling point.

It's still unclear to me from solicitations if the damaged torso is a complete stand-alone add-in, or if you need to "construct" it from some pieces from the action figure. That would suck! It should be its own thing...clearly it has its own head and arm sculpts, and upper torso. The only part I could see it re-using is the lower torso maybe....but why??

Yeah the lack of a helmet is extremely disappointing, considering the blue color looks so much more accurate than the first version.

I never realized Mafex did so many Robos already..how did I miss so many

I think that picture includes some of the same individual releases just using switchout parts.

As far as I know there's 5 figures in total - including these new Murphy head figures.

I keep hoping they'll break the Clarence curse and make him.

That would be one cool figure. Alternate head with tongue to pull the pin out.

Even now I'd say NECA is the best hope for a character like that, not Mafex or Hot Toys. NECA too are getting less brave these days and emphasizing big money-makers - often not requiring actor likeness rights where it's cartoons and videogames and such - but they're the only ones with a history of doing 'boring' humans from the Aliens & Robots franchises.

Yes, should have clarified.

There are five MAFEX RoboCops.

RoboCop/Damaged option parts

RoboCop 2/Damaged options parts

RoboCop 3 with Flight Pack

RoboCop Final Battle Murphy Reveal

RoboCop 2 Clean Murphy Reveal/Damaged torso

I got in on these when they were rereleased. I don't think I got them from their original run. Anyway, glad I have them. Awesome figures.

The original Robocop2 figure may not look quite as nicely blue as this new figure but A) it still stands out as distinct from the R1/R3 figures and B) this new figure may see a downgrade from that nice prototype anyway.

Funny illustration considering I got x2 of R1, x2 of R2 and x1 of R3.

Prolly gonna get 1 BD Murphy and 1 Unmasked R2 Murphy.

I look forward to seeing you re-create that pic with the real figures about a year from now!

What the fu…k… Look at the price of this Battle Damaged Robocop…😱

Seriously???
Back to 2018 I paid the regular one 79€…
2,5 times the price for this new one.
Ok there are a lot of weathering and details but more than twice the original price…😕

That's not it's actual price, and that seller has massively inflated the price looking for a sucker.

If you buy it from a Japanese seller (HLJ, Ami Ami, Okiniland, Nin Nin Game etc - these are all reliable) you'll get it for much cheaper and much sooner as it comes out in Japan first. Mafex is a brand to buy directly from Japan if you want a reasonable price.

The shop is actually very reliable and I’ve bought several items from them.
It’s just the way this hobby is becoming crazy.
Ok thanks for the Japanese advice! 👍

On Nin Nin it is listed at approx 65€ at PO price. Even with the shipping and VAT fees, it costs me around 100€ VS 200€ locally.
You’re right, here they charge an insane price…😵‍💫

Yeah, it's the same thing with the local sellers in Australia - there's always at least a 50% markup compared to buying it from Japan.

Always in the way to cure my collection, I put out the box my Mafex Robocop, just to have a look at him and decide if he stays or not.
Still an amazing and lovely little figure. It captures all the mood of the movie.
And paired with the Neca ED-209, it’s still a fantastic display IMO.
Still one of my favorite.
