Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versions)

Took my time to set up both figures. First off, though instruction leaflet says (back) armor isn't meant to be removed and will damage the figure permanently if attempted, it can be achieved if done with care.





That said, i gotta says this duo is just incredible in hands. It needs some work to get the desired look but it's well worth the effort.





KGH hobby slashing the price ($165 off) mere weeks after they sent my day 1 pre-order is a pill hard to swallow but that won't prevent me from enjoying this set. Extra long delays likely have a part in my enjoyment of this 2-pack but both have quite a few qualities to assert.

I had a good time getting shots of this figure out west. I know many have moved on to the "repaint" version" and I am looking forward to that one myself, but this version has a way of capturing a key moment with Fett...regaining his armor, that is hard to beat. It just looks so imposing.



While out there, I watched the classic spaghetti western "Good, Bad and the Ugly" and this figure, especially in this kind of light and environment, really captures that cool vibe.

Thanks jedibear. Always thought breakdowns could help the community. I know i found inspiration and courage to go the extra mile with my figures in breakdown shots from other members.

your outdoor shots are always gorgeous. Thought about doing a few myself but i'd have to invest in a proper camera first. So, right now, i'm keeping to my tiny indoor stage to showcase my new acquisitions.

That's one thing I love about in here. Everybody has their distinct way of showing off the figures...and the variety always offers something inspiring, informative or helpful.

Thanks for the kind words...yes, I enjoy seeing how these figures can look outside sometimes when get the chance...and they can look pretty good!

mind elaborating on what you did? they look incredible, especially wandering boba, i’m just trying to place what the changes might be aside from opening his cloak.

also, is hanging the gaffi stick loosely by a thread the go-to way to handle that, or is there a better solution?

i still owe you all some pics, got the set a month ago and it still blows my mind. both figures are real standouts in the collection.

Basically undressed both figures to the last layer of textile. Wasn't able to remove the trousers as it's actually sewn to the undershirt and thus couldn't have access to the fat suit. Then:

- Dipped the trousers into water, shaped them and dried them with a hairdryer. Air flow to minimum not to alter the mods.
- Dipped the half-top/collar into water, ironed it to remove wrinkles and shaped it.
- Dipped the fabric/paper belt into water, used a towel to remove water excess and then shaped it.
- Dipped the cloak into water, used a towel to remove water excess and shaped it while resting on the figure.
- That way, the fabric keeps its shape even when fully dried and gives a better illusion of weight to the cloak.

I believe that's it.

P.S. Also used sewing thread to attach both weapons together. Couldn't figure out a satisfying way to use the threads provided by Hot Toys.

Thanks. The "water treatment" is a very old trick i learned years ago back when i was collecting Sideshow Star Wars figures.

That scenery looks amazing.

A pic of the main figure, later, I will work on the other figure of the pack. The unmasked head IMO is one of HTs best sculpts

Normally I don’t preorder but some of these I did, since they were up on the heels of some quickly sold out figures a few years ago.

But now the calculus has changed, with some exceptions. Not that I haven’t gotten some good deals in the present.

Yeah kinda how I look at it. Stings a bit to see it, but I try and share em for anyone that may have held off in favor of other stuff or maybe was interested, but not at retail.


A lot of the stuff that I do preorder is mainly because :

-I couldn't stand to miss it and pay a premium
-I 100% know I want it

It's not a perfect system. Especially, not this year due to all these discounts popping up, but I also don't end up having to chase down stuff later looking for a "reasonable price".
