They got greedy as hell and definitely do not have the quality to back up their prices hopefully they see a huge decline and start to price them normally again because I don’t mind having some in the collection just to have them but some of the prices are not justified for me to get them
I hope so too. I "collected" the PAKs because I felt pretty sure they will eventually make the whole FFVII main crew. I dont care for the rest but I really wanted that complete set. (If they ever make Cait Sith that is, thats the only one Im not sure of haha). I mean, GameToys are the best by far, but Im pretty sure we will never get all the characters from them. As it is now tho, I rather give up on collecting the whole FFVII PAK team, than give greedy Squeenix my money.

The same channel posted a review of Aerith and she looks awful:

Compare that to the Nier figures made by Flare:

The difference is night and day. For some reason Square Enix doesn't want to license Final Fantasy to other companies like Nier

In ancient times, Kotobukiya did their stuff. And those were quality.

Sidenote: I'm contemplating in myself to cancel the AC Cloud + Fenrir from TW as well. 5 months of waiting just became 5 months of uncertainty. I don't like that. At least, I have a solution for Zack via Kit. It's not going to be cheap, But in a way it's a full circle for me regarding my FFVII Collection. Sephiroth, Cloud, Zack. Collection wise, I don't really care for the rest of the announcements from GT. Toys Wonderland can go to hell.

I think cancelling is the right move, as much of a gut wrench as it would be. On one hand they're stalling on shipments and seemingly unable to pay for orders, yet they've got enough money to send a Youtuber out to LA and review prototypes worth thousands of dollars? They're laughing right in the face of anyone currently having issues with them.

The SA Aerith looks awful? I watched a couple of unboxing videos and thought it looked pretty good. :| But I'm really not seasoned in this world and don't know what to look for.

I have both this Aerith and the Purple Dress Tifa Static Arts on preorder, but if they're coming in terrible, maybe I should cancel?
I've already considered maybe swapping Purple Dress Tifa for one of the others they just announced, as those look pretty good and feel a little more dynamic to me, even though I like her purple outfit best.

Just got this email from TW lol... 🤦🏻‍♂️ I received this email after they said they would refund me as well lol this is the poorest excuse I've heard, what does that even mean? 😂 and yesterday they said they'd refund me. I called them out and used a photo from here as evidence (thank you) of someone's email saying they won't receive their Zack stock til end of November and told them to just refund my money to my PayPal and make it easy for both of us or I will get my money back through a chargeback 🤣

Let me translate that for you:
"After looking at the ammount of money we still own manufacturers and suppliers we simply cannot afford to give you a refund right now, please bare with us as we aimlessly scramble to make enough money off pre orders and fake shipping notices in order to pay for the stock of other figures."

I presume they were trying to sound professional and matter-of-fact but ultimately they sounded more like the three stooges. What an embarassment of a company.

"What is your job, Daisy?" "I'm a cancellation assistant at the cancellation center." :poop:

It would be interesting to see the material cost to produce these SE figures. The figure molds probably cost the most and the time to do the 3D rendering, but I'm guessing its merely pennies on the dollar for the actual material cost (plastic and paint) and since its their own brand licensing, it's all profit. I'd wager when breaking down the cost of a individual unit within a full production run, it probably averages out to no more than a dollar or less spent per figure and the markup percentage is insane obviously.

Whether you think she looks good enough is up to you. IMO SA and PAK are mediocre to downright bad compared to what else is on the market in the same price bracket. I have both Nier figures from Flare and the quality is fantastic. I also have PVC figures from other companies and series which put into perspective how unimpressive Square Enix figures are. That won't help you if you want an Aerith figure, as (licensed) high quality Final Fantasy don't get made. If you really want Aerith, you don't have a choice, it's SA or none.

It's frustrating since even in the rare instance of the FF brand being given to another manufacturer, it's often outrageously high end - Prime 1's Terra & Magitek Armour, the Roen x Nomura clothing for FF15, things like that. Capcom by comparison have a nice middle ground figured out with their licensing to Asmus, Dam and now Iconiq, all of whom seem to be doing rather well with the IPs they have. I'd love if they'd follow their lead, but they won't.

Yeah, you're right. I know the quality isn't up to par with some of the other offerings out there, unless you go to the rare ultra-high-end. But it seemed ok, though probably should be a third of the price. :)
Honestly, I liked those little $40-50 statuettes they did. That is fine for me, especially given the price. But, they didn't do Tifa. I don't get it. Tifa prints money. Drives me nuts.
So I'm stuck looking at these Static Arts releases. I'd prefer the regular costumes, but it is what it is, I guess. All the third-party stuff I've seen looks terrible to me, but I am waiting to see with GT does and I check in here a few times a week. :) I'm not really big on the fabric-clothing, so we'll see.

Or

"We used up all the available funds we have to send Justin to LA to review figures that we pre-sold but may not be able to fulfill also."

If you want a advice, i simply wouldnt pre order any Play Arts Kai oder Static Arts stuff.
Wait until the actual product is released, look for some Youtube review or toy review blogs
of the actual product and then you can decide if you like it.
The risk of the product being sold out by then is actually pretty low.
Even today the Static Arts Tifa for example is still available in the Square Enix shop.
Most of these SE products, like Play Arts or Static Arts, are not limited at all.

So to minimize the risk of a bad surprise later, i would simply wait until you can see pictures or videos of the final product,
because like 90% of the pre order images of Square Enix merchandise are bs.
We already talked a couple pages ago that even the Static Arts purple dress Tifa already looked like a downgrade
when they were showing a actual physical statue at a toy convention in summer 2022.

GT is something else, you 100% want to pre order those if you are interested.
You dont really have to pre order any regular Square Enix products. Its mass produced stuff.
