Well with InArt starting with Sorcere’s Stone just like Star Ace did, let’s hope they don’t fall into the same trap. When I heard InArt got the license, I was sure they’d start with some sort of older versions do the trio, but yet here we are starting with young Harry all over again. No matter how good it is, I just don’t want a child version of them on my shelf.

Make no mistake, Star Ace’s marketing department knew with perfect certainty that the Deathly Hallows Big Three was at the very top of just about everyone’s Wish List. But they also knew that they had a limited time with the license and had to maximize sales of all of their releases in order to make the venture a profitable one.

That’s why they decided on the chronological movie order release schedule. They knew that they needed to build the reputation and popularity of the line to bring on loyal customers, and with the strength of KA Kim sculpted pieces like first year Hermione and Harry, they would do just that.

In other words, they knew (with near perfect certainty) that if they released the DH TRIO too early, a SUBSTANTIAL percentage of collectors would bag those, a Dumbledore or two, and then never come back to the line for any more releases.

But what they failed to predict was that SO many of us were content to wait out the earlier movie figures for the most part, hoping the later movie releases with the older Golden Trio would be along any time. So after the initial releases, sales started to head downward, money began to get tight, and all of a sudden they couldn’t afford both periodic payments to continue the license and also to pay for top level sculpting talent like the aforementioned KA KIM.

Then, the death spiral….

Figures not selling up to required levels, third and fourth tier sculptors for later releases make sales fall even more, until finally, inevitably, they reached the point where the could no longer afford to maintain the line, and never got to our grail pieces in the Deathly Hallows.

A tragic tale of what might have been, but here’s hoping InArt will pick up the ball and do it right!
You are right on the money there! I didn't want the Golden Trio from Sorcerer's Stone, or from Chamber, either. I wanted them from Deathly Hallows right from the start. I settled on Goblet Of Fire Harry but would have wanted a Golden Trio from that movie.. but Deathly Hallows was what many of us really wanted.

Hoping if they make Deathly Hallows Ron, Hermione, and Harry, they won't be 400 bucks each.. but, if they're really good .. I mean, that damn good... we'll see.

Are we sure? Are there any prototypes or samples we can see yet?

Well, if there’s any good news here, Star Ace was pretty much a start up company in the 1/6 space when the were awarded this monumental license. InArt is an established company and although this is their first foray into 1/6 they should have enough cash in reserve to whether a misstep or miscalculation here and there, so they might be able to sidestep the Star Ace downfall with some additional resiliency.

That said, they still have to manage the idea of whether it makes sense to deliver the grails first or not. My feeling has always been, if you deliver the grails and make you fan base deliriously happy, there is a far greater chance they’ll want to pick up secondary or even ancillary characters to accent and even enhance the core grails.

-One Jedi Master’s opinion…

Yes, Harry should be shown this weekend at their live event. He’s last on the list below. It was also mentioned in a live stream that they’re working on a Richard Harris Dumbledore so they are indeed going with Sorcerer’s Stone first.

Ok, well if they do go down this path, at least this company stands a better chance of actually getting to the Deathly Hallows versions. I just hope I’m not compelled to replace ALL of my Star Ace originals along the way! 😬

That Newt figure has a lot of potential. After many mods, I finally got it as close to screen accurate as I could and I’m quite happy with it, even more than the HT figure (which I also own)

Imagine if InArt do Hagrid?! Would be a wonderful tribute to our recently passed Robbie Coltrane.

I would definitely replace my Star Ace figures but I also don’t have as many as some other ppl do
I think we wont see more than handful Harry Potter figures from InArt.

InArt is going to be premium brand where each figure cost 350-1000 USD and they will mainly tocus on characters that have the highest popularity.

We will most likely never see characters like Hagrid because not many collectors would buy one for 600 USD. And also, if you follow collecting community, Harry Potter is one of the least popular IP among the 1/6 collectors, sadly.

I think it's just for cosbaby figures. That image was only posted by their cosbaby account. Of course I'd love to be wrong here.

Also: Can we get the thread renamed to remove Star Ace since they no longer have the license? Or should we just get a new general Harry Potter thread going?

yup it's not on their main account yet. And if anything, I would be willing to bet that this is just for show since InArt also has the license.

Hot Toys: "Don't buy InArt's figures. Just wait an eternity on the hope that we might eventually make some well after you're dead. Remember how we made all those two Fantastic Beasts figures for you?"
