Last I checked, Tesla charges $1500 more to get a color other than white.Yeah, but most other companies aren't charging $350 US for some gold paint and a little plastic
I can't really put them under the same reasoning. Nobody comes in a car dealership getting disappointed not being able to get 2 colors of the same car.
Essentially, those that would want this figure and can only afford one are left to decide either or. Unlike let's say HT's The Batman, you can get the same base figure and with a choice of added accessories for an additional price. This is more on if HT did two SKUs for a Batman with a drape cape only and one with a wired cape only. To get both, you'd have to buy both. Or something like that.

And thus why I made a comparison to another business. If you want the same car in two different colors, you buy 2.
I dont see why anyone is complaining over a business practice that has been prevalent since the dawn of business.
Thats just next level ignorance. HT doesnt owe you anything. Complaining about it is cheap and petulant.
As far as HT is concerned, these are two different SKUs based on two different looks from the film.
I just think a better comparison than car color can be used. Car color is not something you can easily change on your own as opposed to a few elements on a toy.
I'm not interested in the figure but I can understand the gripe against it.
Yes, it is 2 different looks in the movie but the difference is so minimal that maybe HT could have done a 2 pack or an extra costume set at the least? It's not base Wonder Woman vs Golden Armor or mk43 IM vs mk45 IM level of difference. This is more like Peacemaker with default helmet vs Peacemaker with human torpedo helmet.
The gauntlets, boots, and belt could have been swappable accessories but the suit itself may cause issues. There seems to be a zipper or opening at the back which can allow for collectors to swap out costumes should they prefer.

Ya I gotcha. The car was the first thing that popped on my mind since I just bought my second Tesla.
Dont get me wrong, I dont necessarily agree with this business practice but it is what it is.
HT usually isn't in the practice of providing switchout boots, belts and gauntlets, so it's not surprising to me at all that they wouldn't do that here. And not sure how you'd even switch out the trim piece around the lightning symbol.
I assume most people would only want to display one look over the other anyway, so might as well just buy that figure.

Went ahead and pre-ordered the Gold Armor version a few minutes ago. I know these days it isn’t really necessary to preorder since this figure won’t be released for a while and I assume that it will be produced in a fairly high quantity. That said, I still like to pre-order just to check the figure off my “mental list” and move on with my life 
I think this is a really cool 1/6 representation of the character and I’m looking forward to it!

I don't begrudge Hot Toys making so many version of Black Adam. I mean, hell, how many versions of Spider-Man do we usually get from one movie?
But, as good as this figure looks, there is no way in hell I am spending that much money on one figure.
Especially since I'm not even sure if the movie will be so great. I'm worried that because it's the Rock, Black Adam won't be the merciless, "Murder half the population of Kahndaq to save the other half" type of guy. Which will be very unfortunate.

Just ordered the Golden Armor version from Sideshow. Don’t know if I’ll go see the movie in the theaters because I’m still leery about being in crowed spaces like that even with being vaxxed and double boosted.
I got it from watching the Northman back in April. You're right to be cautious.

But I always hated being in a cinema surrounded by people so I won’t be seeing this regardless.
I may catch Deadpool 3 -three weeks after release just for an evening out.
DC figure wise, I’m not getting invested in anything beyond the BVS Trinity from InArt until a clear direction for the DCEU has been laid out.
Is MoS2 happening? Is JL2 happening? Is Flash ever releasing? Is Amber Herd still in AM2? Has Patty Jenkins learned to stick to directing? Will Batfleck get a solo movie? I just don’t know what’s going on.

I know Flash 1, Aquaman 2 and Shazam 2 are out next year, there's a Joker 2 and Batman 2 announced. Beyond those, haven't a clue.
Well thankfully we haven't seen a trace yet of the usual jokiness we get from the Rock, and he's been pretty deadly serious throughout the trailers, so I'm hopeful that will stay true for the actual movie as well.
