The Death Star troooer or imperial officer seems like such an easy thing for hot toys yet they refuse to make one.
ackbar with chair would be awesome as well.

ROTJ 40th will be General Calrissian with a re-used head sculpt, a re-issued Boba and stormtrooper and maybe a new R2-D2.

As much as I’d love something new like Admiral Ackbar, Wedge Antilles, Admiral Piett or even Mon Mothma, Hot Toys is just too lazy with Star Wars now.

Maybe if Marvel continues to die off we’ll finally get thrown a bone.
Yep. I could see the 40th of rotj being a Vader, reissue of Luke and leia endor, possibly with speeder bike, Lando, and a random trooper. Empire had barely anything, Lando, luke snowspeeder, and reissues of Luke bespin, esb Vader and boba.

You'll get Wonder Woman cosbaby re-issue for ROTJ 40. So, relax and lay back.

This is the basic truth I believe.....depressing.:(

It's too bad that Hot Toy's could not release something like the Queen Studios InArt Joker to create a blaze of fire in these forums.
If we are bored imagine the design team at HT HQ. They must be sick to the stomach each time Disney + releases another show. I imagine the turnaround must be high over there right now!

There’s a rumor I don’t think was ever substantiated, but there was a lot of talk that HT lost a lost of their design team over the last two years. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was why.

They lost some head sculptors. It's just surprising that with the $ they are making, they can't find replacement for those artists. Instead, they spend it on opening more stores. The rent they pay for those stores are $$$$$.

Yeah....really. three? That's it? You list those like it's some impressive number and I should be ashamed for saying what I said. Wheres Piett? Wheres Ozzel? Veers?THREE imperial officers in how many years?
And only one of them is an OT Imperial.

Tarkin, Krennic, Gideon...really?

Gideon wasn't dressed in a standard Imperial uniform, but something bespoke to make himself look specal. That's why I eventually cancelled my pre-order.

So it's down to Tarkin and Krennic for Hot Toys. All the way back to Sideshow for Praji and Piett.

Between them there's examples of the naval, stormtrooper and security versions of the officer uniform, but it's very slim pickings for all the years that 1/6 Star Wars figures have been made.

Now we've reached the time of really silly money for licensed figures Hot Toys are likely pricing a lot of collectors out of anything but the big name characters. So Howard will also be weighing up the cost of smaller runs for lesser characters, and will be saying, "Nope."

Not even the Death Star Trooper they already prototyped. Yet they can release silly Inquisitors for silly money because they're Disney's flavour of the week. In wine terminology the Inquisitors are cheap plonk for vintage prices. I'd be more inclined to pay the higher prices for characters with an actual vintage.

There comes a time when, even if you can afford things, it just doesn't feel right paying the price asked. Especially so for brand new characters, because Disney can keep creating those every day. I talked myself into buying Cobb Vanth before he was up for pre-order, but I think I've pretty much talked myself out him now.

I might wait for the 2.0 version with the cybernetic arm with push button quick draw action and no Fett armour. :lol
