Bandai was able to get Garfield's likeness for No Way Home. If this figure doesn't change then it's just Hot Toys being cheap and lazy.

Well Bandai put up an ASM2 branded AG Spidey figure, complete with an unmasked head sculpt. Perhaps HT are working out/waiting for the go-to to solicit this one. Still, the fans are waiting! :impatient::impatient::impatient:

I do remember this being up for pre-order on Kit's site. Just dragged my feet on placing an order and missed the window so have been waiting on Sideshow. I doubt they'll be cancelling the product since they took pre-orders for it.

If I preorder now, and they changed the branding and add new stuff to it, will I be getting the newer version?

Since none of the items have been shipped to suppliers, in theory yes. The only difference would be if a Sideshow-Exclusive version was revealed.

This has got to be one of the weirdest situations for a mainstream figure ever, as far as Hot Toys go.
I mean, WTF would prevent licensing in the US for Andrew's likeness or this figure at all?

Would be a major missed cash-in if they don't sell him in the US.

Maybe they're still working to have it released under the NWH film with an updated sculpt?

Bandai has the Figuarts initially advertised as NWH but ended up with ASM2. I'm curious as to what's the issue with the licensing.

It feels like there must be something with Andrew Garfield that’s tying this up if you ask me.

I wonder if companies including Hot Toys had his likeness rights for the TASM films but not for No Way Home for whatever reason and they’re waiting on something to change.

That would seem to make sense as why when they originally showed this it was under The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Hot Toys having the likeness rights for TASM2, sure, but I don't think Bandai ever released figures for TASM2 before. Their prototype headsculpt for the figuarts seem closer to NWH likeness though.

Am I missing something? I don’t see this on sideshow’s coming soon page anymore. I signed up for an alert, but I don’t see this on the coming soon page.

It could be nothing in a few days....

It's crazy if they won't have this figure available to purchase, I also saw that the coming soon page is gone.
Maybe a glitch that it went away, but again... no reason this should not get a US release.

Imagine when it actually releases in HK, they will be asking $1,000 shipped for one.

Wasn't SS advertising they were planning for it to be a NWH release? Maybe they couldn't get an agreement to release this under NWH and might revert to ASM2 if preorders happen with sideshow.

Is this still even available to order anywhere? As far as I'm aware, Sideshow and all the US retailers like Timewalker and One Sixth Outfitters obviously never put it up for pre-order, Giantoy doesn't sell Hot Toys and One Sixth Kit cut off pre-orders a while ago.

It's crazy how there's a ton of hype for this figure but sales are going to be horrendous if something doesn't change.
