I?m right there with you. I understand why people like to keep everything but it was a pretty liberating feeling to let them go. IF you have room then it makes more sense. I ran into the situation (and compromise from my wife) where it was between more display space for the figures or less display space for storage. It was a no brained at that point.

I?ve also resigned myself to know that I?ll make much less if I have to resale. I immediately break down boxes for ones I know I never will willing part with. I tend to hold onto the other boxes for just a bit and then have to ask myself why I may be on the fence. I make myself decide to commit to keeping it or selling it. I tend to keep them though as you may have guessed!

Hot toys are actually the only boxes I keep. I have hundreds of transformers and marvel legends. I only keep the hot toy boxes because I know the value with them. With the size of my collection if I threw the boxes away it would be thousands of dollars in value I would lose. As much as I don’t think I will ever sell them I’m also not sentimental about my stuff at all and I’ve sold a lot of stuff that I thought I never would. So with these I know better safe than sorry. Honestly some of the figures I’ve even went through the boxes and sold some of the accessories as some of the accessories went for a lot of money and I figured if I ever sold the figure the money I made now would offset what I would lose later. So a lot of my figures don’t have alternate head sculpts. I sold all the accessories to my homecoming tech suit Spiderman for about what I paid for the Spiderman when I bought it.

you should look into atgames legends ultimate before buying that arcade 1 up. On Wednesday there will be a post that lets you use coinops on a usb. Is pretty cool.

Not to derail the topic but I have seen those arcade machines and they do look pretty nice. I honestly have no idea where to buy one though. I also was very curious if you actually own the games or if you were just downloading files from my computer? I have a few arcade1up‘s and the reason I like them is mainly the collector aspect of them looking like arcade machines in my house of some of my favorite games. I have the ninja turtles one and the marvel one.

you can order direct from atgames, wal mart, or sams club. They go in and out of stock regularly. For the games you can download them from a google drive via reddit. fansofsauce is what you will be looking for.

The reason I prefer the legends ultimate is I can pay 500 for as many games as I can find, or 300 for 6 games. I'll give arcade 1up props for the representation of the cabinets but it doesn't outweigh the selection of content.

The only problem with legends ultimate is damage to the unit when shipping. There are a lot of complaints about that but the customer service seems excellent from what I can surmise from the facebook group.

This winter they are coming out with 1:1 scale virtual pinball, which you can also add your own tables via uce or coinops. That is a day 1 preorder for me.

I keep my boxes in a storage room in the basement, with the shippers sitting behind the art boxes as shown in the picture below.

yacobschlomo Are you also the owner of the sale on carousell?

This user posted an exact picture you had posted.

Just only wanted to ascertain that this seller in carousell is genuine.
Thanks

Wondering for hot toys iron man do you guys keep the plastic wrapping inside? Or toss them out? I read something about plastization and how over a long period of time they turn sticky?

I lay my Hot Toys boxes flat horizontally on the shelves (short ends front to back). I can get about 6 in the same space that it would take to set 2 of them vertically on the shelf.

I have a pretty large collection of figures and all the boxes are in the attic. I am in the northeast and I have 2 vent fans in there for cooling. It still gets pretty hot in the summer months, but everything has been perfect for the last 3 years that they've been up there. I double box all of my boxes so no art or plastic is showing... Just all brown cardboard. I also keep some in tubs.

All of my accessories are taken out of the boxes and put inside these bolt/tool organizers that Craftsman makes called the Bin System... I have a stack of 3 of these and they hold all accessories. You can add more if needed.

I label every drawer so I can easily grab any accessories at any time. It works perfectly for me... I was using the "small bag" system but my collection got too large and it was a pain to find what I wanted when posing.

I’m similar but I just use standalone plastic tubs of various sizes because I could never find a unit that held the longer accessories.

I have lots of figures and there are only about 2 or 3 accessories that can't fit in the bigger bottom drawers of the setup. That includes the T-800 endoskeleton gun, the spider-man longer webs, and Venom's Tentacles. Everything else including Headsculpts and full outfits fit just fine. The super-large accessories are in a small bin but it's only a few of them so it barely ever sees the light of day.

I keep the accessories in the box since the moulding keeps it in place. If I store them in generic rectangular bins, they all get tossed around and potentially scratched, dented, etc.

Lol, the user on carousell just removed that photo. I guess, that person "stole" the photo.
Scary

But review seems ok. Out of 72 review, 1 is 1 star.

That’s the sorta thing I’d like but here in the UK pickings are slim. Where did you purchase it? If you don’t mind me asking. Thanks.

LOL, who would be tossing around your accessories Bins? Mine stay in one place and only move when I'm getting out something for a repose... And in that I am very careful and only move one small drawer/bin at a time. Haven't had any damage whatsoever on any parts.

Same. My boxes aren’t in a place where I can easily get the accessories out. Opening the box taking the plastic trays out etc then closing it up again takes time. Never had a problem with plastic boxes. And for some things I use the removable plastic tray from the packaging for accessories. I have all the head sculpts in jewelry boxes and while it looks like some weird head cemetery they are fine in there even if they roll around.

i take time to decide what to pose with then keep the items in the box unless it is some items i swap out frequently in a zip bag. try to keep boxes from same themes in a bigger box toss some dessicant bag in and hope for the best.

never store stuffs in humid basement.

i am on the opposite spectrum. if it is something i really like and will never sell i will try to keep it as complete as possible.since i lost all boxes of old toys i really like. if i really run out of space i rather discard the boxes of toys i dont like, or really ugly boxes, if i reach that point i would rather sell off the toys as full set.

if you toss out the boxes you miss out the joy of 1 day digging out the boxes and look at them and also the manuals (if any). but i know throwing out boxes of your fav toys is a norm here totally from an investment pov coz if you toss out boxes of stuffs you plan to sell you lose value in them. so essentially you keep those boxes for the sake of other collectors.
