too much flash in this photo....not very flattering of what looks like an outstanding headsculpt and near perfect paint app

TBOBF Boba Fett hit waitlist at Sideshow so this could potentially be next if the pattern continues.

Not saying it won’t be in stock at Sideshow upon release. Just a heads up for anyone erring on the side of caution. The Deluxe is already drying up at US authorized retailers.

It is annoying that we have to hear this warning calls for every single figure now there are many places to order from other then sideshow people need to know that but maybe most of collectors are in the united states so for them it is easier

People here already know that, but it’s not just about Sideshow.

There are many people who prefer to support the hardworking authorized independent US retailers when possible.

When the figures are about to or have hit waitlist at Sideshow, people rush off to order from those stores if there’s any left. So it’s also an alert to go do so if you haven’t already.

So while I do find this current situation very annoying, I do think fellow collectors alerting each other here is useful.

Sorry but this sounds naive like saying sideshow are the good sellers and others are bad. I hear complains about them all the time all companies are the same really minus some notably bad apples and people should not decide who to choose because they think one is more ethical then another that is just a fanboy way to think (not saying you specifically but there are people like that

You misunderstood what I said. I specifically said it’s not just about Sideshow. I didn’t even say Sideshow was good in that post.

I’m talking about independent stores. A lot of people here have their favorite shops. Again, not talking about Sideshow. Though they get their inventory from them since they’re the distributor.

Places like Timewalker, Alter Ego, BBTS, local comic shops, hobby stores, etc. The US is massive and there are a ton of stores like that.

I try to support shops I’ve had long relations with because they’ve gone to bat for me and helped me out. Some have even fought Sideshow on my behalf with things like replacement parts. I know the owners and they’re good people. I know others feel the same about stores they have relationships with.

When something is about to hit waitlist at Sideshow, people make a run on these stores. So I’ve seen that talking about it has helped remind people to go get their preorders in.

Plus this just sucks that SS doesn’t have a timer on these instant WL. There ARE plenty of places to order from, but in the US, SS makes the most sense when you’re talking about customer service and replacement parts. Buying stateside makes the most sense as we want SS to continue to distribute here to US based businesses. We don’t want to be at a point where we put stateside sellers out of business and have to start importing this stuff figure by figure.
Most folks, while shopping at SS and the affiliate shops, do also have their OneSixthKit and Giantoys and TNS and TW and Timcent etc etc.

As an international buyer, I preferred SSC. Their international shipping rates are reasonable and they replace parts without getting into trouble of returning the item. However, due to HT proto to final policy I quit preordering. And due to recent custom changes here, I quit buying from them (unless the reward points decrease the price below 150 USD).

So, at current HT prices, you essentially need 50% off to consider Sideshow?

That probably still wouldn’t convince me to use them- as, after adding shipping and customs expenses, I’d still be no better off.

That was not my experience at all I find it much more affordable from hong kong and australia and the service is really good

Vendors outside SSC ask the figure sent back if sonething's defective. SSC asks for a photo which is a huge relief. Also, regarding shipping, SSC is in fact cheaper for me (when compare double box rates, they are head to head). Oh, BTW, that 150 USD cap is not specific to SSC, it applies everywhere.

I have reward points sufficient enough to order one more figure. Then, I'll have to hope the figures become shelf warmers and get great discount. Otherwise, I'm stuck with local retailers which sell those figures at double price.

If I only bought figures that cost 150USD, I would have no figures.

I would have figured most would opt for the Deluxe. I'm sure it will WL soon as well.

Speaking for myself, with the cost of HT increasing all the time I've been getting regular editions for the last few years. The deluxe's really need something great to convince me to get it.

Understandable. Being that he came with Todo and his TCW leg rockets I had to get the Deluxe because I want him for my TCW collection. Now, finding a proper hat will be the final step.

Deluxe just went to waitlist.
