The gun/bandolier are in scale with the figure. Can he create/summon firearms now? Honest question, haven't read the title in well over a decade.
The accessories make it just seem like it's an entirely different scale than what they're advertising it at.
As others have said, if they release any of his companions in 1/6, that's going to be a problem.
Todd's got a lot of experience with litigation... Just he's usually the offender and on the losing end if I recall. Innovative guy though. The 1/12 world wouldn't be where it is today without him/his team. Sad that they're a shadow of their former selves.

McFarlane figures are in a weird place. They were the best-selling line last year, and they're no longer the glorified static plastic statues they used to be. I've personally purchased more McFarlane figures in the last year than I have the prior 15 years combined just because they were putting out winners like MK11 Spawn and White Knight Azrael.

Granted, a lot of figures have issues too, and the downside to better articulation is often paint apps, and I've had to paint up a lot of my figures. I went nuts painting up the recent Mandarin Spawn, but the sculpt is all there, and he's a beauty now. Very impressive.

I get wanting to protect your IP too, but I wish he'd license it out more to take the pressure off his internal team and let other talented creators make stuff for fans he's otherwise disinterested in providing. I get it, on both consumer and creator side.

I know I have a list of 1/6 scale "dream list" figures that haven't been made yet. Ultimately, I may just end up custom-creating most of them, because I just don't think there's a big enough demand for them to get officially made, or even third-party attempts. So when a "dream figure" gets pitched, even by a third-party, I understand the excitement.

I sent them an email asking about it being the price. That's why I'm asking several questions here. I've never ordered direct from a China website for something like this. I'm trying to do my research and ask for people's experiences. You sound like you order from a lot of these places. Which would you suggest as the best place to order from? If I were to get a figure like this in the past it was always after release and via ebay or something. Never pre-ordered any 1/6 other than from Sideshow or some other US sites.
I've pre-ordered from ToysWonderland a few times and paid in full upfront. I have never been asked to pay an additional cost before shipping, but maybe it varies depending on the manufacturer. I have only ordered Soosoo, ArtFigure, and Hot Toys from them.

The bodysuit does not look good. I think those weird, shiny teardrop-shaped patches will be distracting on the shelf. If they were going to make a unique tall body anyway, they might as well have sculpted the texture into it and cast it in dark plastic. Joints would be well-hidden under the cape.
No way. You are saying they should just make a plastic action figure with no soft goods?

The cape can be soft goods.

I just don't like the bodysuit. It's conveniently hidden in the photos, but the teardrop patterns on it look straight-up silly. And even without them, you're not going to get an appropriate texture with a fabric suit. Would you do that with Venom?

I mean, yeah, I still prefer Venom with a textured soft goods bodysuit.

Even for a comic book version that's supposed to look slimier than the SM3 design?

At the very least, they ought to drop the teardrops on Spawn. Just looks like they carelessly threw on a pattern for the sake of adding greater detail to the bodysuit, but it doesn't read as naturally as it should.

Here is my review:

My sword was glued so it broke trying to get it apart, I also showed how I fixed it incase that happens to anyone else.

FYI the body inside is Toys Era ‘the Steel’ Colossus. The boots extend the height by a few inches beyond that. This thing is way too big for a believable 1:6 Spawn.

Just received mine today, this is a 1/4 scale figure for sure. Looks cool but probably won't keep it long. Figure has a good presence and the cape is on point but its body and bodysuit are the weak points. If those were better developed, this would of been a homerun, regardless of the scale.

...I'm actually tempted. I don't buy 3rd party stuff, but the chances of Todd ever making any Spawn 1/6th stuff are basically 0%. Problem is I've been out of the Spawn game for many years now, and this year is packed already. Why is he so big though?
Now just my guess but maybe they're trying to add some comic style proportions like

just my guess but maybe they wanted to add comic book style proportions to him like the SSR Batman Hush figure. Sidenote those two figures would make a killer display together knowing they have crossed over in the past and they're doing it again

I guess, he's a big guy in the books. Still, it's too big. I passed on it anyhow. Maybe Todd will make an official one in 2045...
