That’s barely passable, let alone “good.” I want whatever Star ace is smoking lol.

Star Ace is such an enigma to me. They has the licenses and funding to create great product but yet somehow we end up with stuff like this. When they first emerged they went out strong with KA Kim sculpts and pretty decent tailoring too. Over the years the quality declined and the sculpts got worse and worse. This sculpt is horrible, it lacks any sort of anatomy and has an alien look to it. When you look at it you do at least know its Stallone, but there is absolutely no finesse what so ever.

When it comes to Star Ace, the degrading between prototype to final product is horrible too. If the sculpt isn't good to start with... there is no way it will look good on the final product.

I think people are being too harsh in the likeness for this. If you ask me it’s much better than the Rambo one from the official Stallone shop. I do love inigos take on rocky. I don’t hate the threezero portiats either if I’m honest.

I will say that rolling eyeballs are garbage. Garbage. Toy companies need to stop with this immediately. It’s what’s ruining the portrait here if you ask me

From what I know the SA team only has license for Rocky2

SA does indeed have very questionable quality control though that's the biggest concern here. At the very least I’ll be stoked to pick up the jacket for the rocky 1 street clothes I already have as an alt.

But highly disappointing that there’s nothing but street clothes rocky figures official and unofficial in this scale. I get that bodies and original bodies are an issue but SA made bodies for their 300 line… All that’s needed is a boxing rocky. One and done. I’ll dispute anyone who tries to argue that it’s not the most iconic look, having said that I always adored this jacket.

I wish this were true but sadly it's not - as seen in that new Obi wan abomination they just showed
But it is true. They abandoned PERS (Parallel Eyeball Rolling System). As I said, it tends to be broken (the stick) so they abandoned it. They are using the separate rolling eyeball now. It is just the standard system. Medicom did something like that too. Now even customizer does it.

PERS is a moveable eyes system. But not all moveable eyes is PERS. Most people got that wrong. Well, mainly because Hot Toys popularize it and came with the name.

Technically true.

Let’s, rolling eyeball system or whatever it is and they want to call it, toy company and customizers alike it looks like **** either way.

PERS is cool and all but this isn’t really a figure that needs it. Makes more sense for a figure from an action movie due to various poses.

Hmm I disagree there. Only because Stallone has always had bigger “droopy” eyes. So pers or rolling eyeballs would suit a figure of him quite nicely if executed properly.

Deluxe comes with steps base... And Butkus!

I would love to pick up the deluxe, but the face looks off. Maybe it's the lighting. It's got a very low 3rd party vibe to it. Likes it's a knock-off.

I think the sculpt is decent, but yeah….we all know how this will turn out in production, flat paint, and probably ****** up eyes.

Hardest part for rolling eyes isnt the peg they could use metal pegs. Hardest part would be the fit. Too tight and the eyes either fuse with the face or get scratched when rolling too loose leaves unnatural gaps.
